Same here! Was just saying it feels like every few days we have a helicopter over our house now again this evening!
-
Noticed this too but my 2 year old is obsessed with planes so loves it! I also work in a hospital and used to air ambulances hovering over my office before they land on the helipad so used to the noise!

Charter School East Dulwich - your view
loveED86 replied to 123abc123abc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
So here is my view... My daughter has just finished year 11 and been there since year 7. A few issues to begin re bullying and I was not happy with how school dealt with it but once a particular girl left the school, changed the dynamic of my daughters friendship group and shes been happy there ever since! Happy daughter=Happy mum! My daughter often says how much she enjoys school! During covid normal timetable done online with teacher and would get a phonecall most weeks. Of course GSCE's were different this year but the school have tried their hardest to support pupils and parents during this time. Smaller intervention classes are provided for students that may need a bit of help or to ensure they get the grades they are working towards. My daughter is staying on at sixth form and would be happy to send my 2 other children to charter ed when that time comes for them. The head and some other staff are sadly leaving so not sure what affect that will have but I'm sure will remain a good school! Happy to answer any specific questions via PM. -

Bumping as still a bit stuck and even trickier as with current pandemic unable to view and get a proper feel of school communities, has anyone near goose green been offered Harris ED on offer day or before start day in September? Thanks -

we have been on the waiting list since 2016, I would not bother! although I have heard of children starting whilst only being on the waiting list for a short period of time so not sure how accurate their waiting list actually is, you may be one of the lucky ones!

Furthest distance for offers on primary schools...
loveED86 replied to loveED86's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Renata Ok great, we are lucky enough to be in a location with a number of good schools so would be happy with my child to be offered most in East Dulwich. St. John?s is on our doorstep so likely to be offered due to distance but will probably put as 3rd or 4th but would be ok with being offered a place. -
Furthest distance for offers on primary schools...

Hi bellenden bear What I meant by wasted 1st choice was I wouldn?t want to not get offered 2nd more realistic choice for a 1st that was less realistic but would prefer dd to be offered, so if I put a school 2nd and someone put it as their 1st but we live nearer wouldn?t the person who put it as 1st be more likely to be offered a place?? hope that makes sense! -
Furthest distance for offers on primary schools...
loveED86 replied to loveED86's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you Serena, that is very helpful. Yes I will definitely be looking at the schools September and ask for furthest distances offered, I want to be realistic with schools we?ll apply for and not waste 1st choice. I think we have more of a chance of dd getting into Belham than Harris ED. Caroline- I agree with you re goose green, yes it?s improved alot and seems to be getting more and more popular but also not sure, We will go to open day incase we are offered gg. -
Furthest distance for offers on primary schools...
loveED86 replied to loveED86's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Carolinebog We are by goose green park and nearest school is St. John?s which is great, also close to the new Belham school on bellenden road which will probably be our 2nd choice if no chance of an offer at Harris ED. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on the distances, I believe most children that go to Harris do live very close to the school so like most schools in the area their catchment is probably small. -

Has anyone dealt with severe infant reflux?
loveED86 replied to Candice007's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My 3 year old was very colicky as a baby, I was told reflux and she was prescribed medication but did not help, turned out she had a cows milk allergy and was put on prescribed milk at 12 weeks, was a different baby overnight! It may be more than reflux, my daughter had a blotchy rash mainly on face, runny poo?s after all feeds but this was put down to her being breastfed, screamed at night, took ages to settle her, If you?re bottlefeeding I?ve read Aptamil comfort milk is meant to be good for reflux babies, good luck, hope you have a happier baby soon! -
We have a similar problem. Our little girl who has just turned 3 will not fall asleep unless I am sat in the room with her, as soon as I leave the room she follow me downstairs, she then wakes in the middle of night to get into bed with us. We now have baby number 3 on the way so really want to nip this in the bud! Any tips much appreciated!
