Tbh you are going to struggle in those areas looking for a 2 bed on your budget, your choice may be limited. If you are hoping for an area on the up, look for good housing stock( even if much is not in good nick), decent and improving transport links, at least one pub/deli/shop that wouldnt look out of place in ed. Stratford is all very new build. The olympic park is amazing, and hackney wick has a vibrant arts scene, but housing stock not great. You will struggle on your budget in wanstead, plaistow more likely. Imo west ham has a long way to go. Really scruffy high street and you will be very dependent on the tube. Good luck!

I say ban people from the roads who cannot puncutate and who are totally unaware of grammar.

Have you tried to get watchdog involved? I reckon they would lap this story up, massive over charging and then sitting on your funds. Proper dodgy.

That's how I read it - corrupt individuals in the council, overpaying presumably in return for backhanders. Given the astronomical charges SOuthwark (and other councils) have been making for works, to me this appears to be corruption in plain sight - just very dificult to prove. Having a national newspaper on the case will hopefully have a bearing. Good luck all - I hope this makes your battles a little bit easier

Sorry PR - I was using my tablet app, which does not give you a web address. I reckoned people would figure it out - an lo and behold you have, and you are welcome.

Have you all seen the latest news in the independent? Looks like southwark council has been caught red handed giving back handers to contractors. If I was you I would contact the paper. They are running a campaign on the fleecing of leaseholders.

MMR and Autism- whats your opinion...

Ask yourself would you vaccinate if there was an outbreak? If the answer is yes, then do it now and protect your kids and others.every unvaccinated child increases the risk of an outbreak, and during an outbreak every unvaccinated child is at risk. -
Daily mail fodder if ever there was. I wonder if they will do their fact check properly and figure out that it is the constitutional club and not the conservative club?

Nice walks - possibly along Green Chain
reeko replied to devsdev's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yep look at the time out guide to walks around london. Plenty of options there, all accessible by train. To make things easy look at kent and sussex, they nearly all go from london bridge. If you don't buy the book this site is a good free option http://www.walkingclub.org.uk/book_3/walk_21/index.shtml -
... both from a recycling standpoint and ensuring any security info on it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I managed to stand on my Toshiba laptop yesterday resulting in a cracked screen, it wasn't so bad that it was unusable but today while attempting a speed test using a Ethernet cable with a short reach I managed to pull it off the table ensuring that it is now properly knackered. It was fairly cheap and I'm not heartbroken that it's gone but I would like some advice regarding disposal. Cheers, M.

celebrity big brother - not happy with what I've just seen!

Easily solved. Stop watching this drivel and it will cease to be commissioned, simples. Watching Big Brother and then complaining it is distasteful is like ordering a vandaloo and complaining its too hot. -
I concur. Saw his latest venture on a mooch around portobello yesterday. It is a shop come cookery school come restaurant. It is called ... wait for it .. Recipease. I shit you not.

I am still clinging onto my 30s and I found the leaves really slippery too! I think if I had been a few ales down I could easily have come a cropper. The roads between peckham rye station and maxted road are all pretty treacherous.

Been there and I had to get very specific. Down to the level of detail of asking how long it took to make the lovely name plates, what value they added to the event versus being available to deal with weather induced travel chaos. Perfectionists are great, you just have to point them in the right direction.
