The South End of Lordship Lane
Scottfield replied to DulwichParker's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Worth noting that the Beer Dispensary is currently "Closed until further notice" according to the sign in the window and has been for several weeks. -
Another recommendation for Niko. He has helped us out twice now at very short notice. Once for an issue with a connection for our plumbed firdge freezer in December and secondly to fix a broken flush and tap in our bathroom over the last week. The cistern for our toilet is built in and very tight, with some parts obsolete. Niko went out of his way to get the required part and get the toilet up and running again. Charges for both jobs were extremely reasonable, and to top it off Niko is just a really nice, reliable guy.

With regards your 2nd point, I had a parcel sent to me all the way from Kent in September. It arrived 1 month later to the day in October at the sender's house with a sticker saying unable to deliver. As with your experience, our house was occupied the whole time (both of us working from home, neighbours also always in plus the parcel would actually fit through the letterbox). I hve written to Helen Hayes and the Royal Mail. I may also write to Echo and the Bunneymen. Sad times.

The Old Jaflong Restaurant to become a Pizza place
Scottfield replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
I spoke to the owners last night as they were fixing the sign above the shop. I asked if the Pizzas would be wood fired and he confirmed they would be. I literally punched the air in jubilation at hearing this. So excited I forgot to ask if they were also stone baked. Can anyone confirm? -

Not from the bar, no to the best of my knowledge. You either need to come to a match and visit the megacontainer or alternatively you can buy online here https://www.dhfcshop.co.uk/
-
So your other post asking whether the council gave dhfc some money is unrelated? Either way, you are best asking the club themselves rather than here, I've found them to be very helpful, transparent and communicative. Why don't you come to a game? The directors are always happy to talk to you on a match day.

Hi Abe, Interested in what you are basing this comment on and what your motivation is. This sort of uninformed and speculative comment can be quite damaging, whatever your objective. As Brandnewguy says, the directors were quite candid about current finances at a recent fans meeting. Awash with cash is a position we can only dream of.

Are there more details of this exhibition and are the proposals available online anywhere? Keen to know as much as possible about this. We really need more affordable housing in the area.

Changes to your train times from Monday
Scottfield replied to A Cinderella Line's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Cyclists shouldn't be riding on the pavements really. Sally Eva Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Would it help to get further in? Has anyone done an FOI request on the evidence for need and the various contracts entered into by the Council?

Remember how good it was when Ken was still in charge? I can't believe how Boris has got away with it. Everything ran on time when Ken was in charge, I never experienced any delays and my buses always turned up on time, were driven smoothly and considerately and there were never ANY delays on any of the Tubes. Nowadays 90% of the buses have been scrapped and 95% of the Tubes in some kind of stealth cutback and we are not supposed to notice this. Shall we start a coup to try and reinstate Ken? I'm sick of this! "Is it just me or are the East Dulwich buses worse since Boris got in?" GET OVER IT! THEY ARE AS BAD AS THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN.

As a really charming "ethnic" alternative, try Morley's on Rye Lane. We went there and got 2 burgers, fried (each!) and drinks and it came to ?6.50 DELICIOUS!

The dishcloth sellers are out in force!
Scottfield replied to Vik's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Apparently there is an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons to rid the ED area of this blight. Fortunately I live in a private gated development and the electric fences keep them out but I feel for you guys... I really do -
I'd like to see more cafe's and maybe more of those places that you can paint on crockery with your kids. I love those. While we're at it why not introduce more pelican crossings on Lordship LAne, It's impossible getting from the deli to the card shop without having to walk miles up to the little green man near Newcross road. Finally, how about installng some kind of gated perimeter to keep out those not from ED?
