I'd like to recommend Niki too. When we asked him to look into some leaky taps at our property he asked to chat to the tenants to get the full picture beforehand. He was so thorough and didn't want to over promise or under deliver. He made himself available super quickly and quoted very reasonably. When I was late paying (because I forgot) he was so kind and understanding. He even followed up on the job a few weeks later to check everything was perfect before invoicing. Best experience with a plumber ever!

Good tip Apple! I met a lovely one the other day called Jackson. Maybe that's him : ) GS...I'm not loving the idea of 4/5 O'Clock alarm calls! Two long walk a day I'd def enjoy and yes, def, a decent amount of outdoor space. I don't think I'd trust a Beagle off lead either unless in a fenced part of a park, or Goose Green.

Thanks for all that useful info! You def know your breeds. I'm very active and work from home so happy to go for walks a few times a day and keep the little fella company. I thought I'd go to the Kennel Club event in Nov and find out more. L x

I've recently been thinking about getting a Beagle but would love to know more about the breed to decide if I'm ready for the commitment...I hear you need to be the 'Bolt' of dog owners because when they pick up a scent, they're off! I work from home as a freelance journalist and had a thought ? are there any Beagle owners out there, in the ED area, who would like me to walk your dog at lunch time twice a week for free? I'd obviously introduce myself first so you feel comfortable trusting your beloved pet to me. If you might be interested, do email me at [email protected] and we can chat more. Just Beagles I'm afraid : )

She has, sorry : ( Trade those euros for ?'s and buy yourself a 99 Flake instead.

ha,ha, yes, that was the 'talent' bit :)

I did interview her, yes. She's an inspiration...a real self-starter who made all her success happen for herself. She pitched her TV show to the BBC, and her book to the publishers, without any fancy agent or publicist. Glamorous, talented and ambitious. Go the Khoo!

Jimbo, you are very kind. It's not going to make me a rich woman but I do enjoy getting feedback from readers.

I wish! Sorry to disappoint.

The critisism wasn't aimed at my book but the way my post was written. Not just PR'ing but offering to share my experiences and knowledge at no cost. The book is only ?1.59. Believe me, there are quicker ways to earn that than spending time communicating on this forum! Pls see note about negativity. I'd like to keep this thread as a conversation between those interested. Enjoy you weekend. Lucille x

Mr Ben, What a delightful chap you are! Thank you so much for waving your virtual pom poms for me. I just wanted to spread some positivity in the community and offer to share my experiences...maybe inspire some of those cynics out of their armchairs. Lovely meeting you on here and thank you again for taking the time to write. Best wishes, Lucille x

May I make a polite request for any 'haters' to stay off this thread.

Hello ED'ites, Just a note to say that I'm a local journalist, published in Grazia, Marie Claire, Red, The Guardian, Times Style, and more, and my debut novel ??Bondi Blonde ? has just been published as an e-book (?1.59 on Amazon). Exciting! I know there are a few book clubs in the area and I just wanted say that if any of you chose to review the book I'd LOVE to hear what you think, share the journey of the book with you...I've been signed to Curtis Brown with it and Holly Valance has read it and given me a quote for the cover...etc. I love my 'hood' and all the creatives that make it the postcode T.D.F ;-) You can read what the press has to say about it, and contact me, at www.lucillehowe.com, read more about me at www.curtisbrown.co.uk/lucille-howe and the book is here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bondi-Blonde-ebook/dp/B0080XQVMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340374250&sr=8-1 That's all! Happy holiday reading, whatever candy you choose for your Kindle this summer xxx
