  1. Hi Maria and Benners, you can join SNUB as volunteers if you want. We have just had a commitee reshuffle and we have a new chair. Our current project at the moment is the Dulwich Physic garden at Dulwich hospital. SNUB are now working with Southwark council, who have asked us to extend our Gardens for Schools project, started in 2009, to other schools in Southwark. The SNUB Gardens for schools are GooseGreen, Goodrich, Summerhouse, Heber and St Anthony's. Funding decision is in April. Maria was going to email you re the schools project, if you are about, can you pop in, or we can have a cuppa and a chat. The Physic garden is project managed by Kate and Heather from the Vale residents association. PM me if you would their direct email. Current/upcoming projects are on the website. http://www.snubdulwich.org.uk/ Cheers guys. Community action rocks yay :)

  15. Hi ED Forum folks, hope all is well. I imagine you are preparing for christmas, its that time of year again, that has come round so quick. Hopefully you have had a chance to wander over to our delightful community garden, and cast your eyes and nose over the herbs, and their enticing aromas. :) Francesca and I wander over every week now, and I think she has finally bonded with Eric:. Looking forward to the new planting season, and workshops coming up in 2013. 2013 SNUB projects will be confirmed very shortly, its very exciting, and I look forward to sharing the news with the you guys, the amazing East Dulwich Community. Ciao for now, and community action still rocks yay. http://www.snubdulwich.org.uk/
  16. Hi All Hope you are all well, in the land of ED. The 2012 SNUB (say not to unwanted bags/bikes) bags are now available. Kindly funded by Cleaner Greener Safer, the new updated bags are different to the original SNUB bags. Same message however, the cloth bags will hopefully encourage shoppers in using cloth bags, or recycling bags whenever possible. The bags are available, on a first come first served basis, because of the limited amount we have. Stores will be distributing the bags, with purchases, again because of the limited amount of bags. Participating stores Healthmatters, Lordship lane SMBS, Lordship Lane Panino D Oro Village way, Dulwich Village Local greens will also be distributing the bags. All feedback on the bags welcome. Thanks SNUB http://www.snubdulwich.org.uk/#
  17. Southwark residents can apply for free lessons through cycle instructor http://www.cyclinginstructor.com/ For Southwark, I think the children need to be 9 and above. Check out the website. Stewart Vanns who also works in Collaboration with SNUB on our Bike projects is an instructor for cycling instructor. Good luck
  18. Hi ED, Hope all is well in the land of ED. Tea and Tincture workshop went very well, despite bad weather on the night. Fun was had by all, and there were plenty of teas and tinctures made, and cake afterwards. MMM nice. As always watch this space, for future workshops. I have also been informed the garden is blooming, all the herbs and flowers are growing so quickly, despite erratic weather conditions. Our lovely sponsors Mc Govern Carpentry, share their enthusiasm and pride of the garden, when we speak. And again thanks to the community who continually show their support, by their actions and kind words. Community action rocks:) ps Just to let you know SNUB may have a new project starting in 2013, subject to successful funding. Guerilla Edible gardening. We are just looking for locations in and around the Dulwich/ED/Peckham Rye area. pps SNUB bags 2012 will be out very soon, we are aiming for early November. Ciao for now :)
  19. Hi Guys, just a subtle reminder of the Tea and Tincture workshop, hosted by the Project managers of the Dulwich Community Physic garden. Details in the previous post. And no my loves, I wont be running it, I cant attend, however I know, you will have lots of fun.:)

  21. Lol thanks for that rch, Francesca loves herbs and flowers, and loves visiting the garden with me. We now go to the garden on Thursday afternoons, when I look after her. Its amazing to see the herbs grow so fast, and the story behind the physic garden develop. Hopefully I can make it along to the open day, Im working, however I will try and make it. Hopefully the wonderful community of East Dulwich who have supported the garden, with their love and enthusiasm, can also make the open day. Community action rocks yay
  22. David that's what makes our community so great, the very essence of ED is that we communicate, we bond, we fight the good fight, we retaliate as a community. On here, on the Lane, off the Lane and everywhere around the lane. And that's why papers like the Metro and the Guardian, are very positive about places like ours. AAAHHH :)
  23. Hey Ed, Hope you are well. Further updates on the garden will be new paving soon. We still have enough in the the goose event, to fund paving. I went along on Monday with my niece Francesca, and we walked barefoot around the beds. I love walking barefoot, Francesca is only 15 months, my little angel:) and she just loved smelling all the herbs. She was slightly freaked out by Eric the statue, however by the time we left she was stroking him, asking me what it was. AAAAHHHH. Go and have a look at our amazing physic garden and take in the relaxing effect of all those lovely herbs and flowers.
  24. Hey All Hope all is well in the land of ED, after my week away in Norfolk, thought I would update you on donations and news on funding. Funding will start again in the next few weeks for the paving, hopefully that will be successful. As always we are putting all our positive love and energy into the garden, it looks great, and we keep receiving lots of positive feedback from the hospital and the community. If you have a chance pop into the garden, and let your senses guide you.:) Thanks as always ED and finally Community action rocks yay :)
