  1. Hi Pugwash Great to hear your husband was up and about yesterday, as well as do a few jobs around the house! The smallest things can be so hard so I hope he felt proud of himself yesterday evening. I hope there would be enough people interested in a one off mini social. Perhaps if we put a date out there on here then see what the interest is like that could work well? I too should be going to the bipolar group at the beckenham centre tomorrow evening. I would be happy to give your husband a lift if he would like? Just let me know, very happy to to. You attitude is fantastic. My fiance's the same, always so positive and working hard to make life as easy as possible for both of us. I really admire people in your situation being so strong with a partner who needs the support. Please do let me know what you think on a) putting a date out there to all meet at the community centre and b) if your husband would like a lift tomorrow evening. Thanks Pugwash
  2. Hi all/Foxhelp/Alan Medic... Hope you're all well. No, no one's met up yet to my knowledge. Perhaps one evening in a few weeks if anyone's interested? Perhaps w/c 17th June? or even the weekend of the 15th/16th. Pugwash I'm so sorry to hear of your husband suffering so terribly with his depression, and of course the effect this must be having on you also. I too battle my demons on a daily basis. If he too would like to meet up to just chat about bipolar over a cup of tea I would be more than happy to head round or meet somethere in East Dulwich? Please feel free to either PM me or just reply on here to meet up. Always keen to meet with others who undertand or want to learn from this awful condition. Thanks all Dan
  3. Hi all, Really interesting reading this. Glad to see people are being so open about it. (PaulK you ave no idea!) I'm 28 and following a major manic episode last summer when on holiday in Italy I was diagnosed with Bipolar. I spent 2 weeks in hospital in Italy then another 2 in the Maudsley up the road. I'm pleased to say I am back in my full time job and seem to be handling it all whilst still battling my demons. I'm on Olanzapine and Sodium Valporate and I too agree with the exercise, good sleep and eating well strategy - eliminating as much stress as possible whilst working towards a full recovery (if there ever will be such a recovery!). I was wondering if anyone would be keen to grab a coffee and chat about our experiences? Alan Medic perhaps you could learn from a few of us if we got together for a coffee over the next few weeks at some point? Please so let me know your thoughts people. I think it really helps to chat about the condition in the comfort knowing you're not getting judged etc. Hope that may be of interest folks. Hope we're all as well as can be!
  4. Hi James Great. Next week sounds perfect. Just replying to your email now. Dan
  5. Hi all, Just looking to find other tennis players in East Dulwich who fancy some casual/semi-competitive games during these lighter evenings at East Dulwich Park? Evening's will be irregular each week as I have a mixed schedule but would love to play with some like-minded players in the area. FYI I'm 27, male, used to play to a half-decent standard as a kid, now getting back in to it but can still 'hold-my-own'. Up for playing to a competitive standard if this suits! Cheers - Dan. Email [email protected]
  6. F1 fans of East Dulwich... Due to some football competition going on in Europe somewhere... the EDT's not showing the Canadian GP coverage. By any chance, does anyone know of ANYWHERE I could watch the race? Be it in a local pub or even your lounge? I promise I'll behave... & bring beer &/or wine! BIG FAN! Please text on 07803 876455 if you know of any such place! Many thanks all, Dan
