bellenden road/danby street - people going through bins
sazzle replied to Panda's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
yes have also had this by ed station. I have also seen people with trucks come and look through bins not sure if its for larger items? Sometimes i go to the bin and someone else has filled it with their rubbish! -
Right by the bus stop sign there is some block paving and its come loose again so i assume its that... they never seem to fix it properly, it was closed for a while after the snow as well.

Its funking ridiculous!! I feel sorry for the people who live next door, its an eyesore and detracts from the rest of copleston road which is pretty well kept.

Never been but did think about it. I think there is one island which is more developed than the others. There was a relocation or place int he sun programme where someone wanted to buy there which was quite interesting to get and insight. some info on here. Let me know how it is if you do go! http://www.channel4.com/4homes/buying-selling/buying-selling-abroad/country-guides/cape-verde-08-05-29_p_1.html

Sorry to hear about this, happened to me a couple of years ago. As angry as you might be, be thankful no-one was injured. Hope you are recovering and have insurance. Like the others said up your security might make you feel better. Do you know how they got in? Did they force the door?

I stayed at the bellagio which was really nice, a few pools, mailny people posing though. We didnt get round to it but want to go to the pool at mandalay beach hotel as heard it was good. Its right at one end of the strip. http://www.mandalaybay.com/thingstodo/beach.aspx The helicopter to grand canyon is great we went with papillon, did a landing and breakfast at the bottom. The stratosphere has some thrill rides so your son might like them, you can jump off the edge and take a roller coaster over the edge too called x-scream. http://www.stratospherehotel.com/

The yellow boards sometimes do not appear until a couple of weeks after the event. Also hope no one was injured.

Side is ok, places to eat and nice scenery. I went about 10 years ago and it was very much a German tourist resort so in smaller places they spoke german and turkish not english. It was very nice and the people were so friendly. No 18-30s in sight, I went years ago though things could have changed!!

Went to Varadero in December. Didn't really leave the hotel complex apart from nipping to Havana. The hotels are ok, some are huge, we stayed at Hotel Blau, there are always late deals we paid about ?500 for a week all inclusive but you got have had 2 weeks for same price. THe staff expect tips. The pool area is really nice and they put on nightly entertainment. With all inclusive its mainly buffet food, and the food in Cuba is not renowned for being very good. Varadero beach is narrow but has lovely white sand and good weather. Day trip to Havana was good, again expect to tip the driver, the lady dishing out toilet paper, the band everywhere you go, the serving staff... Its a cool city but can be fairly hectic near the main touristy spots. If you get a good guide you will learn a lot about the cuban way of life and history of the country, which is fascinating. Take plenty of cash with you and change it at the airport (they will only accept notes in perfect condition), getting more money while over there will result in a ludicrous exchange rate as they convert your cash to US dollars, then charge extra to convert to Convertible Pesos. You will not be able to use any bank card any way connected to the US. Amex etc. They dont put prices on things so haggle, i got ripped off loads of times, even the woman in the hotel who sold me postcards and stamps ripped me off. i thought it was a bit odd because stuck them on with pritt stick. I posted them in the hotel post box and 6 months later have any of them arrived..... NO. I think she just peels them off and re-sells them. A bottle of Havana Club will set you back about ?3 which is good. Cigars are about half the price they are here. You are warned not to buy cigars from touts, only from official shops. Most of the people are really really nice. Expect lots of canadians. On the whole I had a good time but was a little disappointed, I had expected great things. Lots of my friends love Cuba and go regularly but they say it changing so fast. Another friend did an explore group tour and covered a lot more ground, but they ended up sleeping under the stars and trekking up mountains etc which wasnt really her thing. PM if you have any questions.

My brother gave me his old car for free. its a 1996 renault clio. I pay ?400 insurance p/a i have never had my own insurance before, it was reduced by adding another driver and fully comp was cheaper than 3rd party for a crap old car. I am with elephant. ?9 for AA a month ?120 tax i think pa ?10 a month petrol, but i dont go far. ?50 MOT? i think ?200 repairs following MOT, for worn brakepads etc. Hope this helps!

Hey Applespider, my housemates sister left her passport in our flat in paris and managed to fly home on the plane as planned. she did have her wallet so she may have had other photo id, but she defo did not have passport. Hope she gets home ok narnia!

Sometimes they can use their discretion at the airport, i have known people prove their ID with a bank card and credible story and be let through, as she has had her bag stolen i am guessing she has no proof of ID of any kind? If so a visit/phone call to the embassy might be enough? Have you contacted travel insurers? Do you have a photo copy or scan of the document anywhere? Or the pasport number written down anywhere on any official documentation? this may also prove helpful. Also contact the airline in case they have her details logged from when she flew out there. They may be able to help. Good luck

Advice on digital camera for a 2.5 year old
sazzle replied to sazzle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks for your posts everyone. I have old cameras i can give him which is a good idea, but my worry would be small parts / or being easily breakable, as he is only 2 and a half. I consulted savvyauntie.com which is the bible for PANK's (professional aunties no kids) and they also recommend the vtech. candj i am really pleased you have had good experience with the vtech i might just get it for him. He loves me videoing him singing then watching it back but i never hand over the camera as its expensive. Narnia, i appreciate your comments and don't think they are negative at all they are well thought out and helpful. His dad, my brother, is very chilled out, and possibly the nicest person ever, and is an infant school teacher so is really into learning skills etc, i have already asked him and he said he's delighted with anything, so nothing to worry about there. Sorry about he snake we did the same to my poor dad with a bunny rabbit which he ended up cleaning out each weekend, oops. Thanks! Auntie Saz x -
Hello! I would really like to get my little nephew a digital camera, he loves looking at pics of himself on my camera so thought it might be time for him to have his own. I had a quick look on amazon and found the vtech kidizoom keeps coming up but some reviews say the picture quality is really bad, low resolution so you would not want to print them. I doubt we would want to print many but it would be nice to know we could if he took a masterpiece :-) Grateful for any advice / reviews on kids cameras! Saz

Is it wrong to sell a 'big' bday present I have never worn??
sazzle replied to sazzle's topic in The Lounge
peckham rose u know me better than that! Its sat in the drawer for 3 years. Most of my colleagues have been made redundant since then. . . The idea was to sell it and buy another piece of jewellery to replace it. majority of people seem to think ivs ok to sell so i might look into it. Thanks for all your opinions :-) x -

Is it wrong to sell a 'big' bday present I have never worn??
sazzle replied to sazzle's topic in The Lounge
Quite a few of them have now left work, i guess they mjight be sad but they would probably also be sad to know it was gathering dust in a drawer and will never be worn... Thanks MrsMc, yes i did plan to buy some jewellery i would wear instead. -
I got this from some colleagues for a big '0' bday 3 years ago and have never worn it. Its not my cup of tea, bit dainty for me, but at the time i thought it was more the thought that counts and decided not to take it back. I have never worn it so am thinking about selling it to get something i might wear, is that morally acceptable? Where is the best place to sell stuff like this ebay? Saz
