It may be that the original purpose of the noticeboards could be changed to suit the changing needs of the ‘community’

Well, I think the word obsessive is unnecessary and it does take more than one viewpoint to continue that conversation

And here we go again

EDF is getting that Nextdoor feel

Your post is confusing. You say I’ve used ‘public shame and ostracism’ that just doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe southwark should have a similar poster thanks for referring to it.
-
There is a continuum of needs, so I think referring to everybody who claims PIP atm as the ‘most vulnerable’ in society is highly misleading.
-
You’ve taken the time to write quite a long post explaining why you think as you do. But as I pointed out earlier in the thread most young people look pretty much the same they tend to wear different clothes on different occasions and unless there’s something overwhelmingly stand out about their appearance such descriptions do not help - there’s probably about 25,000 teenagers within walking distance of the park. Any description could apply to many of them. The police have the descriptions leave it to them. I hope you won’t stop going to the park, to reassure yourself go onto the Metropolitan police crime site and you’ll see that Peckham Rye Park is a very safe place to be.

Bellenden Rd & North Cross Rd ‘High Streets for People’
alice replied to bels123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I remember that. wasn’t it organised by local traders? ED being one of the main players. Maybe it’s looked good and felt good but didn’t bring in any actual extra buyers. -
Unless they were wearing school uniform with name tags otherwise children do change their clothes you know.
-
Well, I was being polite perhaps there isn’t a difference.

It’s funny because when you make a statement about a bad driver, it’s not ranting but when someone makes a statement about a bad cyclist it becomes ranting. What is the technical difference?

Bellenden Rd & North Cross Rd ‘High Streets for People’
alice replied to bels123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think the choice of Bellenden and North Cross roads shows which people McCash thinks the streets are for. -
Relatively recently, they employed a couple of young people on front desk work they were excellent. I don’t know if they’re still there. And yes, they may be doing something on their computers that’s important but when you see people queuing and no one appearing for many minutes the system seems inefficient. Some simple changes could make a big difference. But those changes would have to come from management rather than individual workers choosing to jump up and help.

Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express
alice replied to satsuma's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It does sound like she was trying to be helpful. I’m sorry you feel that’s weird. -
I don’t think mentioning the precious Gilkes Crescent is very persuasive. It’s got a very long history of blocking itself off from the rest of the community with various reasons

Pavement widening outside M&S nr East Dulwich station...
alice replied to EDmummy101's topic in Roads & Transport
It was an expensive council error to put another crossing in that area when there are busier roads with no alternative crossings nearby. On it is not an island? Well, it looks like an island. It acts like an island people use it as an island so I think that makes it an island. Aka a little safe spot where people with bikes canpause while waiting to make a safe right hand turn -
Driverless taxis in London? that is not going to happen. Maybe more recent stats will show the accident rate has improved but right now it’s twice that a human driven cars. USA has broad Street Roads are there any European countries with a similar city road layout that use them?

Would it be reasonable to ask that plain language is used eg unintended consequences rather than externalities.
-
Don’t they do it every year?
