  1. Forumites plesae give me some advice... I am thinking of stopping bfing, or decreasing the number of feeds at least, currently giving my 10 mo. At the moment he's probably having 5/6 feeds in 24 hr period (7am, about 11am, 3 ish, 6:30ish and then often again at 5 am, sometimes about midnight). I'm going back to work in September and want to have dropped both the night and daytime feeds by then, might be ok with the morning and the bedtime one for a month or two but not much longer... He won't take a bottle at the moment, will take bits but small amounts from a cup. So I have a few questions... 1. How do I go about it? 2. What can I expect with respect to hormonal changes, differences with integration with little gooders and any physical/emotional consequences! Thanks
  2. Yes there are, I went to babycare in petts wood on Friday, I have also been recommended the in Car safety centre in Rayleigh, Essex.
  3. From a safety perspective I'm pretty sold on keeping our baby rear facing for as long as possible in his carseat, I had a britax multitech fitted yesterday, just slightly anxious about the loss of footwell space and how far forward the front passenger seat has to be... Has anyone gone down the rear facing at 9+kg route and have any thoughts? Any other seats that are worth looking at? Thanks
  4. We really enjoyed the wire, have just been recommended Friday night lights, also enjoyed shorter series 'any human heart' and Sherlock is entertaining us at the moment!

  7. Does he like dinosaurs? This looks fun and local... 24. Crystal Palace Park Dinosaurs I?ll admit it's not what you?d expect to find in a south London park but this was where the Great Exhibition of 1851 (that took place in Hyde Park) moved its huge glass building to, hence the name 'Crystal Palace'. During the park's renovations, Professor Richard Owen created these giant dinosaur sculptures in 1852 based on the best scientific information available but many now giggle at the 'anatomically incorrect' dinosaurs. I wasn't around at the time so can't comment. There's a free dinosaur audio trail to enhance your visit and the park has lots more to see including a playground, cafe, go-karts, a farm, a museum, a boating lake and a sphinx, plus you can see the remains/site of the crystal palace.
  8. You need to be careful with most forms of exercise, muscles fatigue and you can use the wrong ones in the wrong way very easily. Some muscles are power muscles, others are stability muscles, you could achieve the plank using power muscles and it would do nothing to improve your core stability or recruit transversus and may potentially do you some harm... The difficulty with core stability exercise overall is to do it properly you often need it be well supervised to ensure you are carrying out correctly and also to progress at an appropriate rate, which will be entirely individual. In this context I think you need to consider a slow build up, not only looking at how your body responds at the time of exercise but in the day that follows. Walking may be fine for some people, brisk walking may be too much of a challenge, especially if pram pushing at the same time.... Not sure this is helping but it's m complicated than it might look at first glance...

I had some very tasty salt and pepper squid, I recall a scotch egg, some soup, a terrine, a pate on the menu, not sure about veggie provision from top of my head. Mains again excellent we shared a chateau briand, had some left over which they were ver happy to pack up for us and served very well as a steak sandwich on Sunday night! Really do recommend it, great rice lovely atmosphere and well priced wine list
  12. You really haven't failed at all, you just have a cosy chilled out baby! I was induced with propess pessary on a Wednesday morning, started contracting mildly on Thursday morning, properly Thursday night and gave birth on Friday morning. I had an epidural and would do again if I needed to. It might take a little while to get thingsgoing but others equally find if can happen quite quickly. Whatever happens you're really close to having your baby and they'll look after you really well at kings if my experience is anything to go by. I agree hospital wifi and laptop can be handy, as can other things to entertain you if waiting for a bit. Good luck!

  16. Our 6 month old son as been weaned since 15 weeks (as we are in a clinical trial involving early weaning...a whole other thread) he has happily been eating pur?es for 3 meals a day until 1 1/2 weeks ago, now he's refusing all but about a spoon of food at each meal... Any experience of this and advice of what to do (apart from grinning at him like a muppet three times a day and sampling some delightful pur?es myself?!!) tried some finger food this weekend without much interest....
