  1. We use Ocado, very happy with the service; pay ?9.99 a month for unlimited deliveries , has worked out much cheaper than Sainburys which we used before we got fed up with poor service.
  2. When they implemented the new scheme , we had a leaflet delivered outlining the new collection arrangements: brown bins for food and garden waste to be collected weekly; then the blue and green bins emptied on alternate weeks. Hope this helps. We too have problems with storage of recyclable waste, but the leaflet does say contact the council if you are having problems.
  3. We thought it was very well done too; captured the atmosphere of the original series. We would also like to see more.
  4. 6 years in Feb for me; just decided I'd had enough - oh and getting rid of husband and the stress he induced helped as well ! Then get a new partner who is strongly anti tobacco and there's no going back!
  5. Feed them to the rabbit!
  6. Excitement abounds in this household too - oh and we're looking forward to Downtown Abbey!
  7. 101: Beware the spelling and grammar police! Mistakes will be commented upon!
  8. To add that Dulwich kebab (up opp the Plough) was the only place willing to deliver food this evening. Well done Guys!
  9. We have blackbirds which are regular visitors. Lots of Blue Tits and sparrows eagerly devouring fat balls by the dozen. Gruesome but fascinating have been the regular raids on the pigeon nest by the crows, whole nest emptied now!
  10. The Plough is advertising in the business section - seems to have stuff on.
  11. Size is unimportant; surely its the speed it flickers and how long you can hold your breath?
  12. Ocado delivery driver just said main roads/ bus routes are okay but he got stuck on side roads.
  13. Both Sydenham Girls and St Saviours and St Olaves have early finishes; girls can either watch in school or at home. Who said footy was a man's game!
  14. I really dont think there is any justification for children (of any age) picking flowers which do not belong to them. I live on a school route and on numerous occassions have remonstrated with adults who have let their charges enter my garden and pick the flowers therein(often pulling them up by the bulb which is then discarded).I'm normally then treated to a comment such as " .. aww he/she didnt mean any harm." They usual recoil in horror when theft is mentioned which technically it is! Surely it is common decency to teach children to respect other peoples property and not pick flowers which are not theirs and much better to promote that concept that they should be left for everyone to enjoy!! It is extremely easy to grow spring bulbs on a window sill indoors if you want to bring flowers inside.
  15. Lullingstone Country Park Just off the A225 - Castle Road, Eynsford Nice riverside walks, cafe on site.
  16. As owners of a nervous rescue dog who is put on a lead to avoid conflict with other dogs who get " in his face" can we wholeheartedly agree with Huggers original post. He(the dog) is put on his lead to prevent him (and us) getting stressed out when he " has a go" back (especially as he's not 'ard enuff)!
  17. Hi Admin I have been experiencing this problem as well. Will show error message etc as described one time then thread can be accessed on another attempt and something else will display "error" message.
  18. Top of Barry rd blocked by bendy bus, no traffic moving either way. P13 very slow towards New Cross, South Circular barely moving at all, I got off and walked! Now indoors with a nice cup of tea! Hoorah
  19. This is becoming a firm favourite in our household . Good to see a show which allows the viewer to make up their own minds about what they are watching without an overbearing commentary. Would say more but got to go and make himself ....... " cup of tea"
  20. The incident happened 7.30ish Saturday night and was a dispute between adults, no "yoofs" were involved. It was a very heated argument which resulted in a stabbing, though no major injuries were incurred. Police were called by neighbours and the miscreant arrested within the hour. Unless you were one of the arguing parties then it is very unlikely it would comprimise neighbourhood safety.
  21. My first alcohol induced vomit was due to a banana liquer one New Year, the thought makes me gag 30 yrs later ... yuck! I once took on a bet to drink down in one the contents of my glass in a greek taverna if they could make my ouzo go clear; they did with an equal measure of neat gin .... that destroyed the power of speech and caused major hurt the next day!
  22. My 12 yr old daughter rides at Mottingham Farm 020 8857 3003 current price is ?20 / hr. Timing for lessons is haphazard at times but she's been going for 7 years now and loves it. Classes run for children and adults. They tend to ride out across the fields so not too restricted. A bit further away than Dulwich Stables but might be worth checking out.
  23. I had a similar experience recently as well. When I answered via the intercom the rather insistant pressing on the bell I was told " Let me in to read the meter". When i enquired as to which of the 3 flats he wanted the demand was again repeated. I opened the door to him and asked to see his ID, a cursory flash was given and my comment that he would be wise to learn some good manners as he was being very rude was met with laughter! My request for his ID number stopped the amusement and I got an apology for his lack of manners. Moving the meters to the outside doesnt always solve the problem, I still get them ringing the doorbell to read the external gas meter, or even if I had a pass key so they could open the box!
