If it had been happy playing noises then there would be no objections but being woken up at 7.30 to screaming, shouting and cussing is objectionable. If it had been an immediate neighbour would have had a word but this was not in immediate vicinity, hence the objection to the travelled noise!

Dear Parent/carer It is extremely unneighbourly to allow your children to go out into the garden and shout and scream at 07.30 in the morning. Please consider your neighbours!

Why not ring the Head ad discuss it with her? Or make an appointment - a personal and direct approach is far more likely to get a decision. Has your child got a good attendance record, which will help.

The steam railway in Tenterden Kent has regular "Thomas" events http://www.kesr.org.uk/ Lots of dates in March. About an hour and half's drive and lots of free parking and fantastic views!

Or take a more proactive role, books dont just have to come from school, maybe organise regular trips to the library so She can get used to the responsibility of changing books; or have a supply of "home" books to read with her; or remind her to change her book as you drop her off!

Make a note of names of who gave them and save them for friend's birthday gifts throughout the year.
