    fireworks?

I can hear fireworks!! Where are they coming from?
  2. Castle reopening tonight at 5pm!
  3. What irritates me about the Bishop is that they only serve half pints in those old fashioned jug glasses. So 1970s. So each time I go in there they have to then repour my drink into a wine glass or similar. Everyone I talk to feels the same so please please please Bishop invest some dosh and buy some decent half pint glasses. Suppose I could just bring my own glass!
  4. Apparently it's open today - a friend of mine just called me to impart the good news!
  5. I think it's a great location - but then I'm biased as I live round the corner. And anyway, they've got a large catchment area stretching down to the village and up towards Friern/Upland and the Harvester. No competition
  6. Gosh there are more and more of these incidents. I used to be so blase about how safe E Dulwich was and have never worried about walking home alone from the pub but maybe now...
  7. I'd love to see a really good family friendly Italian in LL - Si Mangia is too far away and Locale is too poncy. Something like Pizzeria Castello that's really buzzing and doesn't break the bank
  8. It's a beautiful evening, I should be smoozing down LL but yet I've been sucked into the hype that is Britain's Got Talent. Oh who to vote for??????? Nah, won't vote for any of them, much easier decision to make
  9. Love the song! That's what makes East Dulwich great!
  10. I think they're great
  11. I'm glad there's still one non-gastro pub in the vicinity! I don't go in there very often but I'm always made to feel very welcome and it's one of the cheapest places to get a decent pint
  12. But it says in their blurb that this survey is compulsory if selling a property and that they're cheaper than getting an estate agent to do it - is this true? First I've heard of it
  13. I had mussels for the first time ever last weekend at the Mag and they were GORGEOUS. No chips though and I can't remember whether there was bread on the side as I was just a tad drunk at the time
  14. You do mean swinging as in swinging don't you?
  15. I know it's on the telly, but does anyone know which pubs (that also do decent food) will be showing the Chelsea Liverpool game tomorrow? I saw the first leg in the Forest Hill Tavern and was surprised to go in there and discover no food in the evening. Have to admit that the chips from the chippie next door were good though!
  16. He's playing at the Half Moon Herne Hill on Saturday
  17. Has to be skiing. Snowboarders should be banned from the piste - why is they always stop right in the middle of the slope and then sit down?
  18. Surely it's the 'boys are back in town'
  19. This is better than Eastenders and better than moaning about Somerfield / shootings / dogs / etc etc
  20. I grew up near Cheam and went to school in Sutton so know it pretty well. It's a pretty good place to live if you like suburbia. Really nice pub called the Red Lion which is tucked away up a side street, OK high street, goodish choice of restaurants, good transport links, good schools, typical suburbia.
  21. I thought of that too Georgina. But she asked everyone's permission and they all posed - so you'd have to be pretty thick to agree if the flowers weren't for your other half.
  22. I love the Gowlett and I love Thursday evenings in there. I was in there early last night to play my records then ended up staying till closing time and getting a little bit merry. And the pizza was yummy
  23. My friend Carole took photos on Valentine's Day in Lordship Lane of people buying flowers - have a look at www.caroleevans.co.uk/ValDay/ - about the first dozen are in East Dulwich. PM me if it's you or you know who the people are. She'd like to contact the models to tell them to check out her website
  24. Perhaps we should have a match making section within the forum?
