As you walk in The Plough pub opposite the library there is a picture on the wall immediately to the left - it looks, to me, like a picture of Crystal Palace Road. Does anyone know who the artist is? I used to live in CPR and am convinced that my old house is in the picture! I asked the manager if they knew as I'd like to buy a copy but alas they don't. They offered to sell me the picture they have but as I don't think it's an original I think they want too much money for it - and anyway, I'd much rather buy direct from the artist.

Lordship Lane in the early 90s (I moved 1992) was dire indeed and a very depressing place, especially after Sainsburys opened and the greengrocer and butchers (Le Chardon now) closed and Northcross Road was wall to wall hairdressers. I remember when the Blue Mountain cafe opened (1993??) and after that the domino effect began

Anyone know why there is a house & garden covered in artificial snow in Court Lane - stills shoot? Video? Film?

Just looked at the Daily Mail pictures - it's definitely receding/being pumped out quickly as it's no way that bad now.

I've just cycled through (went via Croxted Road to avoid the flood) and very litte traffic. It looks like only the section from the Half Moon back towards the Oxfam shop is closed - rest is operating as normal

It was definitely a break in. Tennis will carry on and many thanks to Marlborough Cricket Club who are offering us use of their clubhouse for the time being

Yes last night the Camber tennis club (where I am a member) clubhouse sadly burnt down as a result of a break in. I don't have any more details but it is devastating for the club and its members, especially with this being our centenary year with lots of events planned. Luckily the tennis courts are not affected so we can at least carry on playing!

I live at the top of Crystal Palace Road and it happened to me a few days ago

Yep it was a great afternoon, particularly the goats & tigers game!

Blimey I live up by the library at the top of Lordship Lane and I could hear it.

Be warned, my friend yesterday was the target of 2 dodgy Big Issue sellers who stole her mobile phone from outside Liquorish. We were sitting in the sunshine and she rather stupidly had her phone on the table. 2 Asian women came up to us and were really pushy trying to sell us the Big Issue. They put the copies on the table and were shuffling them around - we told them to go away but they were really hassly. And about an hour later we realised the phone was missing. We have no proof it was them but they were the only people who came near the table. When my friend rang the police they said something like 20 phones had been stolen from East Dulwich over the past weekend so there's obviously something organised going on. I also remember that they didn't have Big Issue ID. So if anyone sees 2 Asian women wearing bright pink cardigans then steer clear...unless you want to buy a cheap phone that is! And if you want a copy of Big Issue go to the nice man that sells it by the traffic lights at Sainsburys

Anyone know which pubs are showing this match tonight? It's on ITV but it's much more fun in the pub. I know the Herne is showing it, but any others?

My 50th birthday party a few weeks ago went on till 3am - young people don't know how to party anymore

What's the quickest (and least changes) way to get to Brighton in the evening from any of the local stations? I've been on the trainline website and it's not that helpful. Forest Hill to Brighton seems the quickest but have to change twice. Isn't there anywhere that goes straight to East Croydon?

Yep 2nd episode was definitely the weakest but loved last night's and the ending was great
