  1. Hello I know this might be a long shot - I wonder if there is anyone who might be willing to interpret a discussion for me that I need to have tomorrow morning. It would involve attending our flat which is in Herne Hill where I need to have a conversation with someone who speaks Polish and it's important for us both to understand what each other is saying. If so please PM me and I can give more details. I am be willing to discuss an incentive such as wine/cash! I think it would need to be around 9.30am. Thanks
  2. Just wondered if there were any new mums in HH. I had my baby a few months ago and meet up with people in ED and Peckham on a regular basis but wondering if anyone closer to home who's up for meeting up and cinema trips.
  3. Hi sarah - was just about to post that yes - venue has changed - it's now Blackbird Bakery on Grove Vale - same time 1500. I didn't organise this one but am heading down there so hope to meet you then. Nicolax

  5. There are a couple of meet ups planned in the next few weeks on the facebook group if anyone is off/already on maternity leave - Friday 23rd August - 1400 - at Le Chandelier, East Dulwich Wednesday 28th August - 1400 - Bambuni, Nunhead Look forward to seeing anyone who can make them.
  6. Just caught up with your reply! Much appreciated. Ours turns out is not a leaking waste pipe...well that's the advice of a plumber. I'm now faced with getting a tanking company round to have a look - I feel like a big cheque is on the cards but with a baby on the way I just want something done and quickly with a decent guarantee to cover it if it fails. I can't change the outside ground level so we have to work around that. Interesting what you same about the lime cement, like you say - it definitely seems that trades do what the know and don't admit when they can't deliver. I'll let you know if I find someone who can lime render! Ours isn't Victorian - rather frustratingly its a solid concrete block built post war after bomb damage so who knows what delights we'll find when we investigate further!
  7. Just wondered if there were any more updates to this thread. I too have been let down by a 'guarantee' for a problem which I can pretty much diagnose myself. We have a leaking internal pipe coupled with a semi basement flat that has signs of penetrating damp from the high ground level. I'm now looking for a decent company that I can trust to investigate the leak (and its a rather major investigation behind boxing in - and running through 3 flats) and a company who will tank the walls once the leak is fixed. Any recommendations or hints gratefully received!!
  8. Lovely to meet some of you last night! There were quite a few of us so didn't get to speak to everyone but am already looking forward to the next one. Thanks for sorting the table Cindy. Nicola x
  9. Brill - I can do Thurs 6th too (well, I'll miss my pregnancy yoga class for it!). Can't wait to meet some of you then.
  10. Ladies, shall we get another date in the diary - as one of the ones who couldn't make Saturday I'm keen for a meet up. I'm due on 6th September which suddenly doesn't feel that far away! Not quite a month.....but how about Saturday 1st June?
  11. Hi Ladies, I still can't make Saturday unfortunately but hope there's amnother meet up in the next few weeks that I can make. Be great to meet some other bumps.
  12. I can't make 11th but am also keen to meet up at the next one.
  13. Ah will try again on Monday! Thanks for the info.
  14. I know this thread is a little old but I've been trying to contact Southwark about their courses starting in January with no luck. The page appears to be down on the website and I can't get a reply via telephone. Has anyone else been looking recently - or is it just that all courses are fully booked? Thanks for any info.
  15. I am a joint freeholder of a block of flats in which I own the ground flat. We are in negotiations to be able to knock through to the communal garden and create a kitchen extension/have access to a private section of the garden. If I get this agreement from the other freeholders presumably the next step would be to get the deeds changed to reflect what we have agreed. Can anyone advise on the process? or next steps? I will be spending some time researching this but any local advice I can get would be gratefully received! Feel free to PM me if you need more info.
