Hi there, sorry i just came across this thread and thought I would add to it. I am a qualified Nutritional Therapist, so i couldn't resist! I wouldn't recommend taking iron supplements unless you have tested low for iron at the doctors, iron is toxic if you overload your levels. In addition, i would also get your vitamin D levels tested at the doctor whilst you are there. Your low energy could also be due to low B vitamins, which may account for your mouth ulcers, in addition your immune system sounds run down. The homeopathic remedy Merc Viv is excellent for mouth ulcers, but personally i would investigate a bit more to find the root cause. I suffered from mouth ulcers during my first pregnancy and discovered i was chronically low in some B vitamins, which could have caused problems if not addressed. I did a test with a private laboratory that I use as the NHS tests can sometimes be unrepresentative of B vitamin levels at a cellular level. This showed that on a cellular level i was deficient, yet the NHS blood serum levels were high. I agree with Tarafitness in that you should take a multivitamin if you aren't already, I can recommend a really good practitioner one that I use (I am pregnant now too) which you have to buy direct from the manufacturer, just email me at [email protected] if you would like this information. Not all multivitamins are the same, cheap ones, will be less bio-available to the body and therefore will not be absorbed properly, its worth buying a good quality brand. Make sure you eat good quality protein with each meal and snack on protein (nuts, seeds etc) in between meals too, this will help with your energy. If you are up to it, have a good breakfast, again with protein, eggs, oily fish, nuts and seeds on porridge... I am just setting up my Nutritional Therapy practice in East Dulwich, if you or anyone else is interested in a consultation, please do get in touch on the above email or my tel: 07940 705537. I am also thinking of doing some free pre natal nutrition talks in the East Dulwich area too, so if anyone is interested, email me and I'll let you know once i have organised this. More information about me at www.facebook.com/catherinearnoldnutrition, website currently under construction. I also teach pregnancy yoga at Buchan Road Community Hall, every Tuesday 7.15pm to 8.15pm, www.facebook.com/catherinearnoldyoga I hope you are feeling better soon! Best wishes Catherine Arnold -

homebirth info
catherinearnoldyoga replied to duchessofdulwich's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi duchess, I had a homebirth with brierley, very positive experience and happy to talk to you about homebirth if you like? I do think thaf it helps to be prepared, i practised s lot of yoga and did lots of birth visualisation CDs which are brilliant for getting you into the zone, mentally and physically. Ina may gaskin is great as others have mentioned, also dr gowri motha, the gentle birthing method was brilliant too and gave practical advice for each stage of pregnancy, and lovely massages yr partner can do. Having a partner actively involved (mine supplied pain relief in the form of acupressure) makes the experience even better for both of you too. I teach pregnancy yoga in Nunhead on Tuesday evenings, www.facebook.com/catherinearnoldyoga Contact me if you want to chat further: 07940705537, [email protected] -

Is this IBS? Advice needed
catherinearnoldyoga replied to supergolden88's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello I am training to be a nutritional therapist and this is exactly the sort of thing you can treat successfully through diet. Stress and the gut is also inextricably linked so something to consider. I also teach yoga should you want to tackle this side of things ;) I would highly recommend going to see a nutritional therapist and if you can't afford it then I can also highly recommend a consultation at my college (college of naturopathic medicine) which is just ?25. Pm me if you would like more details. I hope you find some relief soon. -
Hello ladies I hope you don't mind me posting but i teach pregnancy yoga in Nunhead every Tuesday evening! Tonight is the last opportunity to attend the class for just ?5 (January special offer!) Normally its ?8 for your first class and then ?10 drop in or ?48 for a block of 6 consecutive classes. Its a one hour class, 7.15pm - 8.15pm at Buchan Road Community Hall, SE15, we start with some breathing exercies which help release tension emotionally and physically and are also an excellent preparation for labour. We follow with some stretching to wake up the body and to help open areas such as the hips and the pelvis and continue with some standing sequences and sun salutations, ending with relaxation and yoga nidra. One of my students is in the spring babies 'club' and i know she would be happy to give you her thoughts on my class if you would like a reference, just let me know and i'll put you in touch! Yoga is extremely nourishing for you and your baby during your pregnancy and apart from anything else its fabulous and well deserved 'me' time. Come along and try it! Contact me for more details: [email protected] / tel: 07940705537 Find out more about me and yoga in general at www.facebook.com/catherinearnoldyoga
