  1. ...and Jake the Peg, about the man with the extra leg, nudge nudge, wink wink, nods as good as a wink to a blind bat know what I mean....etc......
  2. get rid of the manky ones, peel the bitterest leaves, then steam for about 6 or 7 minutes. Theen basically soften them in a pan on a low heat for a short while in some olive oil with garlic, melt a bit of salted butter on top afterwards if you like. yeaah crunch up some bacon before hand, maybe toss them in that oil afterwards for extra flavour. be creative There should be a little bitterness, that's the flavour, but they should also be quite sweet. if it's just bitter they're either not fresh enough or boiled to kingdom come ;) Oh and i often add a little chilli or some other heat, cayenne or somesuch, but then I add heat to everything ;)
  3. yeah. but working from home so getting lots of useful stuff done prior to the family descending on the place tonight
  4. weirldy i find the app minecraft almost unplayable, but love it on the xbox. aaanyway, not to labour the point, but app gaming..... http://toucharcade.com/2014/07/08/world-of-tanks-blitz/ http://www.metacritic.com/game/ios/world-of-tanks-blitz
  5. just got my mastery badge* on the M3 Lee. 5 kills (in 2 teams of 7), 1500 damage in a tier IV V match up, 900 xp *Means that you earned more xp in a match than 99% of players in the same tank, over a rolling week. Honestly I feel about this game the way SJ does about dark souls. At least 750 battles probably counts as addiction.
  6. Slovenia, but it was the christmas do and a trip to london so not entirely typical.
  7. Given he echoes some of your windmill tilting at the straw man of liberal consensus I'd have thought it right up your street quids ;-) I actually thought it was written with tongue firmly in cheek, if so then pretentious rather misses the point. I thought it was fun. I could of course be wrong.
  8. http://thequietus.com/articles/16933-dapper-laughs-political-comedy-2014-review enjoyable essay, ostensibly reviewing the year in comedy, essentially takes a dump on britain.
  9. blimey, i never new bad grammar could be so exhausting to read. Is it just me that sees STUFF IN CAPS as green?
  10. Russell Brand as news is officially more annoying than the ice bucket challenge. make it stop someone!!!!
  11. Oh christ (no pun intended) I'm not for a second suggesting campbell is this evil...he's WAAAAYYYYY worse!!!
  12. islamism having the sort of week that Alastair Campbell would get annoyed about http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/peshawar-school-attack-taliban-release-images-of-gunmen-who-killed-148-as-they-claim-massacre-was-justified-and-warn-of-further-violence-9930805.html http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/isis-execute-150-women-for-refusing-to-marry-militants-and-bury-them-in-mass-graves-9930766.html Week it finally jumps the shark? Lets fecking hope so!!!
  13. and sprouts, a much maligned staple.
  14. I'm working 29-31 but from home, and almost nobody will be in, so in reality I'll just have to pop into the office every half hour or so and move the mouse and see if anything has gone wrong. Shouldn't be too onerous.
  15. A bottle of sauvingan blanc and something with colin firth in it and I'm sure you'll be glowing with goodwill!!
  16. I remember persuading someone that train drivers have to steer trains or they fall off the tracks.
  17. big piblet really got it last year and is overdosing on it this year, rediscovering all the films from last year, some better than others. remake of miracle on 34th st is pretty bad isn't it, but wayyyy better than The Santa Clause 3!! Small piblet is only 2 and a half but hugely excited by it all. But with all the lights up, and the tinsels, and the carols and cheesy hits on in the evening, and the chocolate, and the excitement abuot the presents, and going to visit santa att he grotto etc etc it's great to vicariously recapture the magic of it. Last two years were in London which i love, that emptiness, the free for all for the pre lunch pint in the dog or the EDT, or wherever is available this year. I've my mum and her family coming over to the emerald isle this year as we christen the new home crimbo wise. Lots more space than before so should be manageable. So all there is to do now is crack open that first sparkly in the morning, sup some sherry as I get the goose and gammon going and relax.
  18. Flipping Eck, forgot again. Another season in tatters.
  19. I mean, I accept she's objectively the best, but that duet was painful. Admittedly not her fault. Ben and ed was hands down the winner of that round.
  20. YES!!!!! Wagner!!!!,
  21. Only the young will win. No seriously I stopped caring about this series ages ago, into been awful, but la piba insisted and she tossed up between this and layer cake and I lost.
