  1. Seenbeen, thanks for posting the link below. I hope others read it. The contents are of concern. It quotes Dr Simin Fradd (Concordia/ GP Practice at TJ Community Health Centre). An example of the scale of departure from established practice allowed by market deregulation is reflected in this interview with Concordia: ?70% of consultations can be led by somebody other than a doctor?we want to see [staff] develop their own autonomy, acquiring prescribing rights, with doctors becoming consultants in their own organisations. I also see receptionists doing QOF searches, taking bloods, doing BPs, ECGs and new patient checks.?10 Meanwhile, in the Vale of Aylesbury the PCT has contracted with a private provider for ?an integrated model of care? combining ?dental, medical, nursing and therapy services?.11 The service will be ?nurse led? ?using telephone triage to ensure the appropriate use of clinicians and using skill mix to aid an effective patient pathway.? None of these new models of care is tested and proved. seenbeen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The end is nigh > https://bjgp.org/content/56/529/565
  2. Yes, it mentions Fradd and who is co-owner of the GP super practice that has managed to get itself premises on the new ?community? health centre. I also note that school nurses are part of the on site health centre offering...lucky old Charter.
  3. TE44, many thanks. I will try them again. Last time I called, a few weeks ago, it seemed impossible to get through. The sense is they are running a skeleton service with very limited referrals. I cannot see anything about blood tests and so on. I hope this is related to the current Covid situation and not signs of a further paring down of services in comparison to what was offered at the original hospital. I have a memory of x-rays also being offered but may be mistaken, would have to check the original plans for the new health centre. Seems no community physio, only very limited offering for those who are ?housebound?. Having read again, they have suspended all walk-in services because of Covid. Nonetheless, from the list of hypothetical services offered if there were no Covid it seems they may have rowed back on original plans somewhat. Happy to retract if others know better.
  4. Having looked a little further it seems that SELDOC are/will be running the health centre side but there is no detail of services offered, only a vague statement. Does anyone have more information?
  5. Thanks nxjen, I am very aware all GP practices are privately owned, the point is this was a hospital, turned into a community health centre with part of the premises given over to local GP practices that already had premises locally. The reason for my query is that I sought treatment at the health centre in the last two weeks but was told by my ED based GP Practice that it is not yet on the radar. How did you get referred?
  6. Hi, do you know what sort of appointments and what services are currently being offered? This is meant to be a community resource and under the current circumstances there may be value in having it open sooner rather than later. It certainly should not just be a private GP practice.
  7. Someone local and on the forum lost and African Grey parrot in April. It flew off. What did the cockatiel look like? Sounds like they are orobably different birds but just in case.
  8. I don?t want to divert from the physic garden and would hope that is reinstated. But, is the health centre bit operable yet? I know the GP practice part is up and running but what about the much needed health centre?
  9. Of course the planters are going to be used as drop off points. Just wait until the schools get back and see whether places like Melbourne Grove planters become drop off points for parents driving children to school. I am in no way supporting either of these but both examples are the potential result of measures not properly considered but hastily introduced to tick boxes (albeit nationally driven).
  10. There is the tiniest whiff of divide and rule.
  11. DBS seems to be trolling again.
  12. Oh, that is awful. So much work went into that little area.
  13. So let those who can give up their cars do so right now and lead by example. Then others, who currently genuinely have to use a car, won?t end up totally hamstrung by the inference that certain streets, where those making the suggestion probably do not live, should be forced to give up parking to facilitate social distancing for shoppers. With the amount of people currently paying little or any heed to SD, very few wearing masks, I also query the real value of imposing these changes at the moment. If we go back into lockdown road traffic will be much reduced anyway and SD become easier. Finally, a genuine need is not a ?gripe?.
  14. An unfair and snide response Rahrahrah. If you cannot block off even more of the high street to accommodate social distancing then surely the only other option is to start to ?reclaim? parking on side streets? It isn?t ?all about me and my car? it is about finding a reasonable balance. For some the car is a necessary ?evil?; unfortunately I fall into that category. I?d love to be in a position where that was not the case and it must be wonderful for those (like you?) that can choose to be car-less.
  15. But why let the facts get in the way of a low level but slightly hysterical attempt to smear the ?opposition?. 16. And for those of us that absolutely do need a car for vital journeys where neither walking, cycling or public transport is a viable or remotely realistic option, where do residents park their cars, as you now seem to be suggesting space on side streets also needs to be given up for queuing shoppers?
  17. So will it be that central bit with a small bell tower above and the two square towers either end?
  18. Really, what is your evidence for that suggestion? How do you distinguish between deliberate disablement and vandalism? Could it be an attempt by others to frame and discredit One dulwich, or does that seem a bit far-feteched?
  19. Is it possible to keep two cockerels in close proximity. Won?t they fight?
  20. Yes, agree with this, so long as not keeping people awake and clear up any rubbish afterwards seems fair enough. 21. Is there really a pressing need for this at the moment? roywj Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi James, > > Has a date been set for introduction for the East > Dulwich CPZ or has the project been abandoned? > There doesn?t seem to be any work taken since > lockdown to complete the road markings or signage.
  22. James Barber, the driving force behind change of use of hospital to school, always said the Chateau front would be saved. I agree, it would be a real shame if it was bulldozed. In terms of the much smaller, modern health centre site ( half of which is now a GP practice) does anyone know when the hospital/community health element of this will actually be operational? One would have thought that in the middle of a pandemic this service would be rather important. It seems a number of promised services are not yet up and working.
  23. Sounds like you have got in the way of a big landowner agenda in some way. More power to you.
