Teething or a runny nose could be the problem. When I was breastfeeding I found foods I ate could change poop. I would go to gp to check it out if it persists though. Hope it gets better.

Hello, Sorry to hear you are going through this. Second going to the GP to check for infection - you could just take a sample down I think if you don't want him to be at the docs? Is it possible to watch him while he sleeps for a while - if he is a sleepwalker it's quite common for them to think they are going to the loo. I knew an adult who on occasion went to the wardrobe thinking it was the loo. Hope it gets better. x

There is a lovely knitting/sewing shop in forest hill called Stag and Bow just near the station for when you need higher quality wool for later projects. St Christopher excellent for (sometimes comical) vintage knitting patterns.

Water issues in Underhill road area again
Giacomelli replied to AD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have seen quite a lot of thames water vans around the area. However we always get a slight dip in pressure at peak showering times (7am) -
To the neighbours of Goodrich School...
Giacomelli replied to Friends of Goodrich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As a nearby neighbour I will enjoy the concert from my garden. Have fun... glad to hear kids playing music. Good for the soul! -
Agree that Gelupo in town is the most yummscrumptious ice cream outside of Italy. Locally I like a Whippy from the van or a Kellys from the the Dulwich Park Caf.

Thanks for all these suggestions. Will try them all. Cutting out sugar is working a little. I sleep on my back inthewoods! My GP not keen on prescribing anything as still breastfeeding.

Luca's 'no longer trading'!? Whappen? Always busy no?
Giacomelli replied to mysticmark's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Agree with Nigello, although I like the fancy cakes at Boulangerie Jade, we don't go very often - don't want to get diabetes!. We used to go to Homemade on Barry rd once a week because they had lots of different stuff. The service for me at Lucas is fine. Not exceptional but fine. I enjoy the midweek breakfast deal and happily pay the full price if we go at the weekend. The cakes are good (not fancy) and priced accordingly. Would be sad to see it go as we are running out of savoury breakfast places that use decent bread. -
Thanks for suggestions, I will try drowning myself in water for a while and see if that works. As I would prefer not to go down laser route right now. When you say you changed your eating habits, do you mean you cut out all sugar/bad stuff or certain food groups (wheat/dairy etc?)

Hi, 7.5 months after giving birth I still have spots on one side of my face (weird!). They started at about 20 weeks pregnant and everyone said they would go away after the birth but they just got worse. I have tried taking vitamins, using different products etc - some things work a little for about a fortnight then my skin seems to "get used" to it and not get better. I am just doing two boob feeds a day with the bubs now, but I think if I go to the GP he will just tell me to go away until I stop feeding him, even though I think my skin got slightly worse when I reduced boob feeds. I feel as if I am being punished for going through my teenage years with lovely clear skin. Is it a hormonal thing? Suggestions much appreciated as although I wouldn't change anything for the world, it's starting to annoy me now whenever I catch myself in the mirror. Thanks! Ps. I have a mostly healthy diet and drink all manner of herbal teas instead of fizzy drinks etc. Do like the occasional tipple though.

Sorry the pizzeria is da felice not Francesco!

Hello, My husband is from Lucca, so we are there a lot. If you like ice cream even a tiny bit then you MUST go to La Bonta which is outside the walls, but well known as the best gelateria there. Order the bontanella ice cream. Lush. No seats but benches outside or just sit in the car with the air con on as space outside to park. For lunch/dinner Il Mecenate on via del fosso - it has very typical Lucchese food and we have taken our baby there a few times. The owner is really into his wine so let him help you and the house stuff is great too. For something off the beaten track and more special try Vigna Ilaria near pieve Santo Stefano. In vicolo Buio there is a pizzeria called Pizzeria de Francesco? They do amazing pizza by the slice, but try and get there early enough for the cecina which is like a chickpea pancake. Everywhere is kid/baby friendly we have never had a problem. I have stood outside on pavement bars with the buggy past 10pm - so refreshing. For trips out try Volterra, Vinci, Garfagnana and Barga (may be cooler there if you need to escape the humidity) Sorry no recommendations on hotels etc as we obviously never need one. Have fun!

Callie. I know very well about that service. It was exactly the service I was using and have used many times. You need to tell them exactly what they are to pick up withbulk collection... the chap on the end of the phone didn't want to accept baby bath as part of bulk collection. But the people who came to collect were fine. Thanks james but I will call them again myself today. I also don't want to take your time up with this !

I have had a problem with Southwark environment dept too. I reported blue bin missing on 20th may, they said should arrive within week. When it didn't I emailed. No reply so called and they said one would come today. Then I got a rather odd email saying that they had been to my property and not delivered blue bin as there was one already there. Went outside to check and there was still no bin!!! They need to get their eyes tested! This is the kind of minor stuff that turns you slowly crazy. Also when I wanted to add the baby bath (no one wanted it for free) to a recent bulk collection the chap on phone said he would not take it as they do not take bathroom items. I did try telling him it was not like a normal bath but a plastic basin that could be put in any room but he was insistant that it would not be collected. Luckily the chaps who picked it up had more sense I will say however that usually they are usually very efficient. It's just been recently... maybe they are v. Busy

Life after a bugaboo bee...suggestions?!
Giacomelli replied to SEGirl's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have had a baby jogger city mini from birth and it's great. Only disadvantage is that it doesn't fit behind the annoying bar on the bus like the mclarens and other umbrella buggies do. -
What are the rules for blue recycling bin collections?
Giacomelli replied to MissKing's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
When my blue bin didn't get emptied I calked and it was emptied within 2 days. I have never seen them checking through them anyway. -
Today someone tried to break into my builder, tomasz's car on dunstans rd but he managed to chase him away and get the reg number of his gettaway car. Police were called. Maybe it was the same chap if caught today?

St thomas vs kings for giving birth
Giacomelli replied to Tmarr's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I had a fairly uncomplicated birth at kings and was very happy with the treatment I received. I went home the same day out of choice. The taxi journey from east dulwich seemed like the longest ride of my life so I definitely would not have wanted to travel all the way to st thomas. Not all first labours are slow! -
House prices go up, the neighbourhood goes down
Giacomelli replied to Alex K's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is a shame when you see a lot unsightly front gardens but I don't think the huge amount of bins help. I prefer big containers in the street as in italy france or spain. I am getting my front garden redone, new path etc. Unfortunately the cost of retiling the victorian path is extortionate so laying sandstone instead. Quite sad about this but as it is not my forever home (small garden flat) I feel after several quotes it's not worth restoring the original. Most people don't sit out in their front gardens (maybe due to bins?) So are less likely to furnish them with pretty flowers. Also as other posters have mentioned we are just exiting winter and when many commuters return it is already dark. -
The extra space is also so you can unfold the buggy at the side of car and not behind. Ie away from oncoming traffic.

Kandassamy & Curtis, your stuff is dumped in my street

You could sell the hamper on north cross rd market for 100 quid! -
Looks like a new wine shop

How to get baby home from hospital?
Giacomelli replied to OverTheRainbows's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello, We don't have a car either, but I bought a maxi cosi car seat second hand on the forum for about 20 quid. It fits on our buggy (for going abroad - hire car etc) and we use it every time we need to take a cab. Some taxi companies charge for a car seat. It has therefore been well worth the money. It also meant I didn't get any hassle from anyone on leaving the hospital -
I can completely understand why you might leave a buggy hidden in the boot. They are perhaps not the most obvious thing to steal and in this rubbish weather you have to bring buggy in to clean house with mud and leaves all over the wheels. I don't have a car btw so my small flat is covered in leaves.
