  1. Go for it Doodles, I'm out doing the same on me allotment this weekend, I've found in previous years when a late frost gets your seedlings there's still plenty of time to start again, be brave. What are you growing, anything fancy ?
  2. Now you can say that you "heard it from the horse's mouth", kinda.
  3. The concrete house will not be demolished; in fact the facsimile next door will go first, as it?s proving a rather large obstacle to Southwark attempts to line up any willing developers. Once the council get their hands on the site either by CPO or the courts then the original will be developed under the guidance of EH into accommodation, this is by far the most high profile site in Southwark, the council will not let this one slide.
  4. How about the fantastic art deco house complete with porthole windows on the corner of Horniman Drive and Ringmore Rise.
  5. Kathryn Though it pains me to admit it, it was a Sainsbury commercial with Jamie Oliver MBE, we filmed upstairs in the main apartment, all very modern but with lots of exposed features of the old school, it was meant to be Jamie's pukka flat. It's a really nice conversion, loads of natural light and the owners (this was about 3 years back) were very easy going, I think we may have pissed off some of the neighbours though, the unit was rather large and included a modest winnie for Mr Oliver.
  6. James, Do you mean the old school on the corner of Northcross and Archdale, I've done some filming in there it's a private property but can be hired as a location, very nice inside it is too.
  7. Renee Zellwegger ! Give DM some credit.
  8. Dulwichmum, Since the revelations about your Modish past I'd conjured up an image of the young Leslie Ash in Quadrophenia. OMG I've just remembered, Ray Winstone was in that film but he played a Rocker. DM would you've swapped your Harrington for a biker jacket, for Ray I think you probably would have.
  9. Reckon he must have had it with cars crashing into his garden wall, there was a time when it seemed as if the great and good of (the smart end of) Underhill where woken by a crash, bang, wallop every other month.
  10. "I have heard there is in Dulwich a certain lane not unconnected with certain practices indulged in by a famous footballer." Stan Collymore is not the only Premiership player to be involved in ?dogging?. The Spurs back four have been spotted standing around, watching other people score for ages. The old ones are always the best ones
  11. Actually, when he was with Ms Kidman (a case of mutual bearding, allegedly) wasn't there a rumour circulating Dulwich that Tom Cruise was moving within spitting distance of the Toll Gate, perhaps that was why.
  12. Allegedly Katie Holmes enjoys what was once described in old school Hollywood parlance as a lavender marriage, but now days you would refer to her as Tom Cruise's beard - as in disguise.
  13. Would that be "three beards" of the whisker or the Katie Holmes variety ?
  14. Kate Moss filming in the area all Thursday and Friday, that picture of good health Doherty even turned up, not every day the paparazzi get an excuse to visit Crofton Park.

    a joke

Jeremy Beadle's got a small penis. But on the other hand it's quite big.
  16. The remake of St Trinians starts filming this week, with a cross dressing Rupert Everret as the headmistress Millicent Fritton, straight to DVD, if it's lucky.
  17. I heard that the sea cow fire started when someone left the Halibut on.
  18. Or the masked Kendo Nagasaki who presumably knew, but we didn't.
  19. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://users.skynet.be/vaha-ma-planete/jackie%2520wright.jpg&imgrefurl=http://users.skynet.be/vaha-ma-planete/Bennyhill.htm&h=283&w=283&sz=69&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=pqATaYdBZQRUjM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=114&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbenny%2Bhill%2Bjackie%2Bwright%26ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26sa%3DN OldTimer, you're really Jackie Wright.
  20. Such a strong family resemblance ;-)
  21. Dear Spymum, Thank you for giving me the chance to proffer the Horses perspective of ?Equus?, unfortunately / fortunately for me I haven't had the chance to see the production though I am aware of the film version. Frankly the thought of Potter sans kecks scares the living daylights. On a more general note, I don't think that Horses have had a fare rub of the artistic green, of course there's the obvious celebrations of the Equine, ?Nat' & Int' Velvet?, ?Follyfoot Farm?, John Constable and ?BB? but then there's the humiliation ?Mr Ed? (Old Timer, your card's marked), they actually fed the poor sod masses of peanut butter so that he'd 'talk' and then there's the violence, 'The Godfather' when Khartoum lost his head in the bed - no prosthetics in 72', they used a real severed head, the horror! The boy Radcliffe should beware, in the film ?Equus? his character was played by Peter Firth, despite playing opposite Dickie Burton his only claim to fame since then is that he's the fat bald one in 'Spooks'.
  22. Ah 'The Starchy Gallery' - A Triumph In Potatoes-, fantastic isn't it, Space Station 65 is still one of the better things about North Cross. I saw someone had done Botticelli's ?Birth of Venus'. Go to the site and check out Delacroix?s ?Liberty leading The People', genius. The analysis and discussion page is very good too. www.starchygallery.co.uk
  23. Britney Spears is an anagram of Presbyterian, Huguenot you?ve obviously got Calvinist roots, any thought? Hope this is off topic enough for all you Mums out there.
