  1. Oh dear nearly hit a cyclist today while he was was riding without his hand on the handlebars, and would you believe texting on his phone. He swerved in front off me and I had to brake suddenly. Luckily a police car was behind me and saw this and flashed us both over. I was questioned as to why I hit the brakes so suddenly, even though he saw what happened, and was told to be considerate to other orad users. What cheek. I think he was more worried that he would have hit me in the back. Just goes to show.
  2. It is a fact that needs to be highlighted, especially the Boris bikes where you have tourists using roads that they are not used too, and my gosh in town it is even worse.
  3. I am not against cycling at all, and believe that this is good for the evironment and for the health of the nation. However I feel that as a driver by trade, I feel totally afraid when driving, beacuse during the rush hour you have cyclists overtaking you in the cycle lanes (fine) and on the outside right off the traffic. Not only this they weave in front of you while you are moving and cut across you. I have not mentioned the red light transgressions I have seen when a cyclist is weaving through pedestrians just to pass the red light to get ahead. I have sat at light with a cycle lane too my left and had my indicators indicating that I was goin to turn left, but while I check my mirror all was clear, and I let the cyclists ahead off me go, but a cyclict who was on the outside lane weaved in behind me and went to my left and while turning tried to speed ahead. Luckily I saw him in time, but then it would have been me at fault. I feel that there needs to be some regulation or training for cyclists or some sort of identification methods to monitor rogue cyclists. As they are road users and they request the same right as other road user, but many do not want to adere to basic traffic regulations. Remember they are using the highways for free, yet we are paying for it's maintainance. I would love to hear your views.
  4. In the days I was a kid a fight was a fight, but nowadays you never know what these guys are carrying. Financial loss is better and loss of life. My son was with his friends in the Village on a Sunday afternoon with his friends on bikes. A few kids came up to them demanding they hand over their bikes. My son said no and handed them the ?1.50 he had in loose change, while they were counting the money my son and his friends made a hasty retreat.
  5. Hi all By some salt and line your garden with this, as this will totally discourage them from coming onto your patio.
  6. Hi why spend the extra money, we always used the pushchair, except when in a restauant, where a hight chair is supplied. There is really no difference except the money you want to spend. Thanks
  7. Hi If you want a nice beach, but not seafront, just calming waves try the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. It is small but is is great for the kids and to be honest it is so easy to get too. Just went to Sheerness this weekend they have really gone all out and have an amusement park all set up. Do not worry though all amenities are available as the Tesco is just next door. All in all I found this as a really nice family day out! Thanks
  8. Hi How did the search go! Kirsun
  9. Thanks, looking forward to it.
  10. Uncleglen has inheritantly hit the nail with the hammer. Social and economic conditions cannot always be the blame for all the states that are mentioned. Family and upbringing are what all socio-anylists seem to forget. We provide a structure of life for all that is free, or in certain cases low cost, and this is what is expected. Yet we expose life as easy going and without the struggles that many endure. One should not expect for things one should work for them, this is undemental animal behaviour. This giving of free living, easy lifestyles, and expectancy has given rise to a wanten and demanding society that all expect they are entitled too. Values have thus been forgotton, and to catagorise this as race and colour is wrong, it can only be catagorised as family values, and how we can keep and respect these. This is what is lacking and parents in all their attempts, whether right and wrong encourage this, by doing things beyound their means for their children, whithout expressing their circumstances. I know many people would site me as wrong and old fashioned, but you have to look at the past and realise we lived life how we could afford, and be happy with that. The culture we provide our kids, is expect things as the government will give it to you. Little facts can be attained by the studies of racial tendancies to crime, because all I see is whether you are white, black, brown, the crime stems from wanton needs. Discipline and nurturing of the family is the a good step forward, and can assist in future development of a child's mental state. I have seen parents argueing with a techer because the teacher told the lady's sone off. What does that give the impression to the child? The child hit another child, yet the parent has totally diregared and undermined the authority of the techer in front of the child. Sorry I am rambling now, but I feel strongly about family values.
  11. Hi We have two conservatories put up by a really good company. I do not generally recommend these but the sales lady was not pushy and the final work was really good, if not exceptional. One of the conservatories are attatched to the kitchen which we use as a utility room, and the other is used as an office. The standard of work is really good and I got both of them done for ?12000.00. This was only done 6 months ago, and every guest we have had has had good things to say. The only thing I must add is that I had asked Crystal for the same quote and this was ?20000. I did barter with the sales lady and wanting this sale she really took the price down. I can provide photos if you wish, and can pass you the address: http://www.artofglassbuilding.co.uk. You need to ask for Ganna. Hope this helps Sunil
  12. Hi I am new to this, is this open to all. I would love to join in with the wife if this is possible. Thanks Sunil
  13. Am i wrong in thinking that this should be done by the owner of the dog. I am a dog owner and and clean the mess that is made! It is a duty. Why should the state fund this? Are they not laws and bylaws that prevent this?
