  1. Been to Portland, but haven't seen Portlandia yet. East Dullitchia.
  2. Yes, you should be very worried. Your conveyancer should be writing to the council to find out what the anticipated costs will be. That should lead to a decrease in the selling price, or an undertaking by the seller to shoulder some of the costs. How much were the last costs. How big is the block? How many leaseholders vs. council tenants? It's usually never ending work with the council. Have previously owned a flat in a block with council and NEVER again.
  3. No, it was Safeway and changed to Morrisons. Just heard that someone has been hit by a train at Denmark hill station so perhaps not the best time to go that way.
  4. Thanks. What do you mean it's not a Morrison's. I just called them this afternoon.
  5. How do you get to the car park there? Never drove there, only went via bus.
  6. I meant to say sycamores as well, so added it above.
  7. Another thing, poplars and sycamores are self seeding all over the place and have been for years. There are loads of them at the back of the gardens in my street. Some of them are at least 100 ft. tall. I find them in my hedge, up near my house and in the front garden. There are also self seeding elder trees, which are apparently a big no-no anywhere near a house. Edited to include sycamores.
  8. What I have experience in the last couple of years, when renewing my buildings insurance, is the insurance company asking if you have any trees near your house, in one case it was within 10 metres. You can't say no, because they will look on Google Earth and can see immediately if there is a tree there. Depending on what tree it is, they want to know how big it is, which they can usually see anyway, so they can and will refuse to insure your house. Had problems with 3 different insurance companies, inc. one I was already with. Edited for clarification

Edited, And to add, I am not talking about signatures like Artful Dogger's. Am talking about ones who managed to insert their business in every post they reply to, regardless of whether or not it has any relevance to their business. I have not reported signatures that 'displease' me as you put it. I had no idea that signatures were a problem until I read about Sue's experience.
  10. Kalamatious Kel, I am looking for an answer from Admin, who brought up signatures on the 22nd September. I wanted clarification as to what a signature was. So far Admin. hasn't answered. Your post isn't an answer either.
  11. I asked a question about signatures, in the correct section of the Forum - do I need your permission to do that? No, I didn't think so. Why are you obsessed with querying my posts? For the love of God, and Christ seem to be your fave epithets.
  12. Are you Admin now? I remember Sue had a problem with her signature and I can't remember what it was but she was told not to use it. There are however a few people promoting their businesses every time they post, which Admin doesn't appear to have picked up on.

Ducky is parroting a script written in the United States, so he says dyesect, as do most people over there. Same with skedjule. A US of A way to say it. You would be dysecting too many people to count and might feature on your own episode of NCIS were you to join the military in some form or other.
  14. HDO, nice to see you like your own organisation with the excessive over-the-top thumbs ups and smiling faces.
  15. I'd report this to Safer Neighbourhood team.
  16. Sarah Beeny's website? Can't remember the name.
  17. Saw something that said Moneybox Radio 4 did a programme about renting this week - should be available on iplayer, listen again, whatever it's called now.
  18. What does a signature mean? Something promoting your business? Anything following your name or just your name?

You're not in the area or the property? If they let someone advertise a house in France for sale, then can't understand why you can't advertise your house. Did you pm Admin or post it up on a thread? Maybe try Southeast Central to advertise; the Sydenham Forum or SE23.
  20. I guess that means they can still re-submit another one.
  21. Ask Admin in the About this Forum section. They have let other people advertise property for sale on here that isn't in East Dulwich, one is in France. As long as you live here it seems to be OK.
