Lister Walk in Health Centre and Parking

Yes, it seems rather similar to going to an A&E department! -
Looking after dogs is a lot more responsibility than cats. ?30 a day is a lot of money to pay someone to be in your house. Professional housesitters don't even get that much. They do it for the change of scenery etc.

There is also a minor injuries unit at Guys Hospital. 40 bus goes all the way there.

Lister - Peckham Road. I posted about it earlier. But get there early.

which Canary Island would you recommend?

la Gomera. -
I have house sat for quite a few people who were friends. I didn't get paid. They gave me a present like perfume, wine etc. I have looked after dogs and cats while doing this. I have also had friends who were students house sit for me. They used to beg me to house sit. It gave them a private place away from flat shares etc. Feeding cats was part of it. I would leave her what she likes to eat and drink in the fridge along with a note saying how happy you are that she is able to help you out.

Lister Walk in Health Centre and Parking

sandy_rose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's free to park all day on Talfourd and Bushey > Hill Road. Good idea. Thanks. They closed to walk-in patients at 530 pm despite being open until 8 pm. When I went there there was a car park at the back with only a few cars in it. It had a gate thing at the entrance. No idea how to get there or who was able to use it though. Would be useful to know if it was in use for patients. -
Does anyone know when the parking restrictions finish near there? I called the reception and they didn't know.

I don't like funding people to do bugger all except walk around a park or do a midnight stroll if they are able bodied. If you are going to do something make it useful. Didn't know the Barry Road run was for MS. That is worthwhile.

Gingerbeer, Where in ED are you moving to? It's hard to find a landlord who allows animals. It also costs a lot to ship them over.

The negative opinions are mounting and not one reply from the surgery. Where to get timely medical care in East Dulwich?

I am now worried about your cats. How will you support them?

Try to do open house or consecutive bookings for showing possible tenants around and ask a friend to come and stay with you if you are on your own. Estate agents quite often do open house type viewings on a Saturday for sales.

You are coming over as a student so what problems are you encountering?

Not saying foxes don't scoff cats but they are unlikely to catch many of them unless ill/slow/deaf etc.

More likely that foxes keep rat population down, not the cats. Cats keep the mice and birds population down. Gardeners in Peckham Rye love having the foxes around due to the prolific rat killing abilities.

Cats on leashes - not a common sight in this country. Dogs are allowed off leash in parks here so your cats would be overwhelmed and perhaps injured. It is extremely common in this country for cats to be allowed to roam all over the neighbourhood via cat flaps. If you get a place with a garden then you could let them outside to join the rest of the East Dulwich cat population. Be aware that London is plagued by a growing fox population. I have just been woken up by some very noisy ones.

My commiserations to your husband for his ordeal. I am shivering just thinking about it. Were there any CCTV cameras nearby?

Want to know where the foxes are getting the eggs. Surely they don't break in to a hen run, kill the hen and then carefully carry off the eggs?

Maltby Street. It's only open on Saturday. Have you tried Brixton Sunday Market? Make a pitstop there on way to Brixton Veeeeeelaaaaaaaaaage.

Have owned shared freeholds in the past. One was in a building with 4 flats and there was a company already formed when I bought. There was an extremely bossy person already running the company and I just let her get on with it. Nothing needed to be done when I was there though. The building was insured through the company in this instance. Another time I owned a shared freehold with another flat. We both had 2 storeys. Even though I got on with the other owner really well, when it came time to paint the outside of the building she refused to do her part at the same time. I was on the lower two floors so just paid someone to come and do my bits front and back. I wasn't directly affected by her refusal until she decided to do her bit and then put scaffolding up all over the place and I had to deal with painting and sanding debris being rained down into my front and back garden. Luckily the roof never needed work doing on it, nor the foundations. We each had our own front doors btw. We also each insured our own flats.

I always get asked when taking out home insurance if anyone other than family live at the property. They want to know if there is anyone else living there in case you have a burglary/damage in which case they won't pay out if it is a 'stranger' and you haven't told them. Not sure what would happen if you did tell them though. They might put special conditions on the insurance. Like KK said, sub-letting means you move out and rent to someone else.
