  1. Not yet, but looks like Boris is still edging it. Apparently 2 boxes of ballots were found in Brent so they are counting those. Listen to FM 94.9, there is an extended drivetime Election programme.
  2. Yeah, and the coffee at Melange is miles cheaper than Anderson's. They also have some tasty looking cakes.
  3. I think the answer is to go across the road to Melange and get a cafetiere of coffee for ?1.50.
  4. I thought Anderson's service had improved. But their cake prices have gone up a fair bit as well. I seem to remember they were offering a shot of expresso when they opened for about a pound. Not sure how that translates to ?2.50 for a black Americano though.
  5. I guess the roasting process would kill any nasty germs.

  7. I don't think there was a choice of sizes either. Not sure what kind of coffee they use either. I am not going to pay that price again. It is a ridiculous price.
  8. No doubt. Just wondering if that is what the Labour party people said, or did they just say his personality?
  9. I paid ?2.50 for a black Americano at Anderson's in Bellenden Road. Seems like a lot to me. They said it was the same price for drink-in or take-away. Blue Mountain is ?1.40 take-away.
  10. So Penguin, did these people arrive at this conclusion after 4 years of Boris being Mayor and how Ken acquitted himself during that period, and during the recent campaigning?
  11. The Nuns Head pub also does burger deals on a Monday, though not including drink. Order one at 6 pm, pay ?6, 7 pm, ?7 etc. Fries included.
  12. Penguin, do you mean that the Labour people you were speaking to said there was a contingent of them not voting for Ken because of his personality? Please explain.
  13. Go there on a Monday when they have the offers.
  14. Sometimes the fish man in Northcross Road has them on Fridays and Saturdays. There is also a fish man at Peckham Market by library on Sunday.
  15. Discrete; French for discreet.
  16. Trolling for encounters? There aren't any hotels in ED anyway. Pubs with rooms.
  17. Bit taken aback to be charged ?2.50 for an Americano at Andersons. Seems jolly expensive to me. Aside from that there is a good selection of shops to be had. No need to go to LL. And the transport options are better as well, as others have said.
  18. But if you respond then everything will be A OK won't it?
  19. Not sure what you hoped to gain by posting this information. For starters, Bellenden Road is extremely long and runs from Peckham, nr. the High Street, all the way down to nearly Grove Vale. You must lead a very sheltered life if you think what happened to you is a reason to stay away from that area. Maybe the woman was drunk because she is homeless. She probably had mental health issues as well so some compassion is required.

If you have a landline then lots of companies allow free calls to 0870 and 0845 numbers now. That is why some companies have migrated over to 0844 numbers.......check with your provider.

I think Sainsburys is expensive. I think the Sunday market in Brixton Station Road is excellent for good veg. There is a trader who comes down from Lincs I think and their stuff is really reasonable. Also try Rye Lane, and Lidl in Peckham. You can also then have a look round all the traders there and also go into Brixton Village undercover market. I think other people have recommended Lewisham as well. I don't have any experience there.

And then there is also a slump and a grunt. You would need to ask for an apple crisp or whatever fruit for someone to understand you. A crumb cake has a crumble like topping on it.

  24. Like I said, I don't think Co-op sell free range birds. So which birds from the Co-op are free range? Freedom food = space to roam in a barn? And what is a reasonable life?

The holy grail of hamburgers appears to be those sampled in the US. That is what I mean by Yankee like. Burger and fries. It's semantics. Over here fries are usually called chips unless you want to show how transatlantic you are. They are the same thing but can be different shapes.
