  1. Up with Maceys!

    The Oscars

No Country was excellent: tough, brilliantly acted and in some places quite shocking.
  3. CitizenED >:D< hee hee - should be embossed at the top of the Forum...
  4. I agree with a lot that Sean said, but I do wonder whether it would have been fairer to introduce a separate charge specifically related to emissions, rather than changing what was a congestion charge into a pollution charge? I wouldn't disagree with the need for either, but I do think a bit of openness and consultation would have been appropriate.

    Blackout blinds

Nero, if Kim doesn't work out, try Carol Henri on corner of Oglander Road/Maxted Road - did a very good job on our blackout blinds and curtains.
  6. Not to nitpick, but if it comes to staying on thread, note that the title was 'more baby-friendly caf?s needed', not 'let's complain about babies in caf?s' (moderated by me to reduce strength of expression... sorry... can't take the red wine no more)
  7. Saw the lovely and talented Jenny Eclair in Sainsbury's yesterday. Oh, and Jerome from Robson and Jerome admired the Moosling (well, he is gorgeous) in Green & Blue.
  8. (sticks out tongue, flounces off)
  9. (in small voice) Sorry Sean, was just joking.
  10. Thank you, citizenED, how very sweet of you. So, what's the format? Do you all wear little teeny tiny badges symbolising your online names (Nero: a fiddle, mockneyPiers: a pearly cap, PeckhamRose: um, a rose.....). Of course you don't, it's just a pissup. Shut up, Moos.
  11. Thanks Keef
  12. Where is the Uplands? Sorry to be dim, newbie here, but would love to come if I can.
  13. Not all foulings-leavers are kids, or people who just don't care. I had to point out to a couple in the park that their dog had done a poo, as they weren't watching it when it wandered off. Even people who think of themselves as right-thinking can be careless, and threads like this are a good reminder.
  14. I've contacted Friends of Goose Green and if I don't hear from them will follow up with Cllr Paul Noble whom I believe is the bloke in charge of restoring the Green. Will try a different tack if they feel it's outside their remit. Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know it's being chased up.
  15. If only Caffe Nero had started in ED, then we could all love it regardless of its chaininess.. ;-)
  16. It'd give 'em something to chuck their empties at..

    Muse @ RAH

PeckhamRose, that was most poetic. Like a sort of extended haiku.
  18. AllforNun, did you just make up the idea of having a statue on GG roundabout? Please let us know! 'cos looks as though rumour is now rife...
  19. What about the 'world famous' Peckham Fat Boy for whom people were campaigning for a blue plaque?
  20. Not against his saying what he likes, nor against the hearing - although it doesn't seem to have turned anything up yet, and what a waste of money it will have been unless it does! - but private grief doesn't warrant public slander in my view. Looking forward to the funniest thing, though...? :)
  21. Not sure why good on him, AllforNun? Hasn't it already been proved he lied in public about the case?
  22. Not sure about 1) but re: 2) Alastair Darling couldn't run a bath. 50%? Surely that's an A* in the new GCSE's.
  23. Does anyone know whether ED has ever been immortalised in song, or indeed prose? I know one poem which mentions Dulwich which I heard on the radio (sorry, don't know who wrote it) A man lives in our village: his name is Mr Babbage. He plays a little cribbage and grows a little cabbage He eats a little porridge and empties out his garbage He sits outside his cottage and wonders how he'll manage. He used to work in Dulwich as Porter to the college. He swept the halls and passage, and dealt with all the luggage. But now he's done with knowledge and time has done its damage. He sits outside his cottage and wonders how he'll manage. Also, I think P.G. Wodehouse set some of his short stories in Dulwich. But East Dulwich? I don't know of any literary associations - can anyone enlighten me?
  24. But sadly then bought the farm
  25. How exciting, look forward to a happy browse on Saturday.. and I will bring Mr. Moos who can outshop me any day! I'm too lanky for vintage clothes (damn!) but will be delighted to look at your other pieces. Thanks.
