Selling nice green retro armchair, removeable seat cushion in great condition. Nice rounded shape and comfortable. Selling due to redecorating. Bought originally from Mrs Robinson on LL. Dimensions are: 83h x 85w x 87d cms. The legs unscrew, but you'll need some suitable transport for it. (Note: we have a cat in case of allergies. But the chair has NOT been scratched or used by the cat!)

Food bank or donation drop in ED or Dulwich?
dino99 replied to dino99's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Many more donations are also still needed for Pecan! Drop off at Oru Space (on LL near Goose Green) ideally Mondays 1-3, but still gratefully received at any time. Thanks! -

Thanks so much for the replies! Very clear now how to support with donations. -
Is there one on LL or nearby? Happy to drop some essentials off, but Peckham isn't as close as I'd like it to be...

I've noticed a stack of shed/roofing tiles on the pavement. These are on Melbourne Grove, just a few meters south of the intersection with East Dulwich Grove. I've been thinking that they look like asbestos tiles. My suspicion was somewhat confirmed as Southwark appears to have put an Environmental Crime sticker on them and spray painted a yellow X. But other than that, they've now been sitting there for 3 weeks, and the council hasn't done anything else.

Got a tap replacement job done by Aria and his brother. They were courteous and got the job done in the same day which was very helpful. Labour cost based on time spent on the actual fix was high I thought, but having both of them working made it quicker, and the cost also included going to get me specific fittings for the job.

Major Works by Southwark Council...should I be worried?
dino99 replied to sedm's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi, there's also this new law that came into effect this past month, capping major works to ?15k. Seems complicated in terms of funding sources and start dates. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/social-landlords-reduction-of-service-charges-mandatory-and-discretionary-directions-2014 We've just had an offer accepted on a leasehold property. Concerned about future major works as the estate is a line item on the Southwark website listing all of the major works. And then again, nearly every estate is listed here: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/3754/major_works_downloads From what I can tell, there are 2 leaseholders in the block of 8 dwellings in total. Any advice on how to get the scope of works (or even better estimate) out of Southwark? The Home Ownership unit simply said that our solicitors should request a pre-assignment pack (for ?180). Think they would do this automatically as a part of searches, but we really want to know sooner rather than later since we have to arrange our finances before the solicitor will get going with searches. We certainly don't want to be landed with a huge surprise bill upon moving in. Thanks! -
29 june - recommend any summer fairs today?
dino99 replied to dino99's topic in The Family Room Discussion
thanks edanna, that's a good one! you know, we love the bouncy castles in CP park, but seem to be really hit and miss in terms of when they are present. Often we go and there is no sign of them, granted, we are on the dino cafe/playground corner of the park. -
looking for a bouncy castle, or the like, on a green or school grounds for a sunny sunday with young children. anyong got their finger on the pulse?

NHS records are being centralised in a large, regularly-updated database: http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/thenhs/records/healthrecords/Pages/care-data.aspx The programme is called care.data and there are good reasons for doing it - paper files in different physical locations is rather old fashioned and inefficient, but 'approved companies' will also be able to purchase different subsets of the data from the government. This is something that I am interested in finding out more myself in order to be better informed.

Anyone received more information about this from their GP? Is there an opt-out option like on the electoral register, where you can participate in public services, but not consent to your data being sold to private companies?
