Turtle, The Chi pup is so full of life and loves the Staff with all of her little heart, but yes, I?m convinced Staff thought it may have been his way of loosing her and her attention! Ps. He adores her too really and while a bizarre friendship, who said we all have to be the same to get along!

I had a 12 year old in tears and a hubby panicking: Good old EDF. Thank you for posting about our dogs who managed to escape the garden. Still not quite sure how. Although the post should have read... Old knackered loving Staff trying to escape a Chihuahua pup jumping all over him. Both very much loved and family dogs and am sure there is a heart broken family missing them. A HUGE thank you to our hero?s who took our dogs to the vets. The thought that this evening could have been so very different is frightening ❤️❤️❤️

As many of you may already know, we organised a reverse advent calander this year for Pecan, the food bank in Peckham and invited people to bring things to us here at our Barry Road Kitchen or at our event space, fifty seven, on North Cross Road. Our cut off date was last Friday and we proudly delivered the combined donations in 4 huge boxes. Then this week we have had more things delivered so rather than turn them away, and with a very busy schedule, we gratefully accepted these donations however, as we were unable to make a return trip to Pecan in Peckham, we managed to get the final boxes to the Salvation Army in Nunhead. I, we all, wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and good will. We had hoped the project would have been a success and were overwhelmed by the actual success! Thank you to everyone, private individuals and local businesses, who helped us exceed our expectations with your generosity. With very best wishes Suzanne

Thank you all. She (they) spent yesterday and Monday sorting out a roof over their heads and school for the boys. Also, they are all still very shocked. She lived in Peckham and is now in Sydenham. We are trying to be helpful, as everyone around her is, and trying not to bombard her with good intention ideas and goodwill. Today is the day of listening and actually doing so a list will follow. It's amazing the power of the EDF and Facebook. For all of their faults, these are 2 incredible community supports. I'll be back later when we know more with a list and timings for collections on Saturday. Hopefully we can help make her and her family comfortable while they are sorting themselves out Thank you all again SJ

I feel very disloyal to post but a friends house was destroyed by a fire over the weekend. It seems that it may have been a power surge and a plug in air freshener. I'm not exaggerating when I say destroyed. Everything has gone apart from a few kitchen items. Her family have been rehoused now in Sydenham and have been given beds. No one has been hurt and her 2 children are safe. She has 2 boys aged 12 and 14 and school have helped her get uniforms for them so they can restart school this week. She is a proud woman and has a proud husband too and will not ask for help so, if I could ask my friends to 1. Be grateful for having our families safe with us 2. Be grateful for what we all have 3. Just have a look around our homes and think if there is anything that we all have too much of or if there is anything we could do without if necessary. I'm meeting with her tomorrow to push to see how we can help. If it's ok with her, I'll post what she is desperate for and if I can make a match, I can collect this weekend and get it to her. Thank you so much for reading this SJ and friends

The cutest little grey dog, maybe a grand schnauzer just came running to us on North Cross Road. He is obviously very well looked after and has recently had his coat cut. He is a beautifully dog and very friendly and is obviously very well loved and will be missed. We don't know his name but please get in touch SJ

Hi All I / We are overwhelmed by your kindness and support. I was not going to post as I felt awkward and as I am a life long dog lover and honestly can't abide bad press about dogs - especially about the breeds that do get the bad press! Brucie is ok. He was a bit shaken last night and slept on the bottom of my bed. He also did not want to go out for his morning walk. I didn't realise how this could and has affected him. I think Brucie must be a bit achey as he is not as bubbly as he usually is but he has milked the attention and is loving it! I have called the police and reported the incident and will forward the crime number to the Warden who has also been in touch for details. We rang the vet and as he is drinking ok, eating ok and tail still wagging (!) we should just look out for signs of scratching his ear (which I bathed when we got home) then all should be ok. Receptionist advised that if at any time we were concerned then we could take him in for a check up but his tail is wagging and he has had plenty of attention and cuddles today so should all be good. Once again, thank you to everyone that posted openly and privately. The EDF really is the most incredible source of information, notice board and support group. With very best wishes Sue, Family and of course Brucie xx

Ahhhh, gosh, I don't want to be scaremongering. It's also dreadful when a breed of dog is associated with fighting or being vicious. The owner acted really quickly and wrestled the dog to floor and to his credit, he could have come out worse than my dog! Dog was sandy brown in colour and fast! Ran as us With such speed! Stocky and larger staffie type head. Friend I was with said it was a pit bull and I looked the name up online and, with the speed at which everything happened I would say it was one of these within the category. It was muscly and had an incredibly loud growl! I am such a huge dog lover and believe there must be good in all breeds - hopefully?

Thank you kford. Interesting reading. I will be honest though and say, Im just glad to have gotten away so lightly. I am doubtful that I would recognise the person or the dog - unless it was running at speed towards me again. The noise was just so horrendous though. I saw the dog at a distance and pulled mine (a staffie / lab cross we think) on a much shorter lead as he is a London house dog and is very much a people dog. He is alright with other dogs but I would not take a chance off the lead. Before I could even assess the situation it had all started and as soon as it was over - which seemed like forever but in truth may only have been a couple of minutes, I was glad to be out of the way, calling for hubby to collect me and checked my dog over.

Hubby would like me to report this on the EDF to be sure that others are aware...... I was walking my dog (on the lead) near the East Dulwich Road end of Peckham Rye in PRP when our dog was attacked by a pit bull that was not on the lead. I guess we came off not so bad by many comparisons that I have read about but it was quite a frightening experience. In fairness the owner did act quickly and wrestle his dog to the ground and although my dog has got a few cut and actually quite deep bites in his ear and neck, he is ok. I really don't want to traumatise anyone and was fortunate to have a friend with me who picked my dog up as he was quite shaken (i'm sure my poor dog must have been thinking WTF just happened) so please just be extra vigilent if walking your pet in that area.

Shhhhhhhhhh dont mention the Lock Ins! I have such fond memories of my time working for Sami and Anne. She was strict though! Sami was always joking around but Anne was the tough one. He was kinda my food hero. Knew so much and I was like a sponge desperate to soak up as much information as I could get from him. He had the most incredible palette and taught me so much about food. I bumped into their son recently and he said they were both well.

Haha, what was the name of your girlfriend Jah Lush? I may have worked with her?

This has just sent my mind wild with happy memories. When I was at Westminster College training to be a chef I worked at L'Auberge for a few years and loved it. I worked on Tuesday evenings then moved to Thistles on Lordship Lane (le Chardon) at weekends. They really were a lovely couple. Anne taught me so much about front of house and Sami was the most incredible chef who worked so hard. He introduced me to spices that I had never heard of before!! Last I heard was that they were both doing well and happy. Thank you Marcus for opening this post and Greedy Girl for sharing your memories - I may have even worked on your wedding - I did a few in my time there! Suzanne James xx

I went to Goodrich in the early 70's then to Daryl Road for a year then Heber for three years. It's just the way it was back then. After Heber I went to Waverly, I will check with my parents the specific years I was at the schools and get back on here. Anyway, loved Goodrich, liked Daryl Road and quite liked Heber too. I remember there were lots and lots and lots of stairs and school lunch was at the church at the top of Goodrich / Lordship Lane.
