  1. I had a similar experience about 6 weeks ago, I was convinced i'd locked the car, but when i came out the next morning it was unlocked, parking change & sunglasses had been taken (which were not on show) and they had clearly been in the boot to have a look as that swung open as I drove away. I did ring Dulwich local police PSCO number to report it, as i thought they have a role to log local incidents like this, i left a message but no one came back to me. I wonder if the theives just walk up the roads and opportunistically try car handles to find any open ones?
  2. The website in the link states: 'ALCOHOL CONFISCATION Police officers have the power to confiscate alcohol in this area Borough: Southwark Alcohol confiscation zone: Borough wide Number of alcohol confiscations: Unknown Details: Affects all of the borough except East Dulwich, Village and College wards. Failure to comply could lead to arrest and/or a maximum fine of ?500.' I understand that to mean that if you are having a picnic in dulwich park (as per the example in the original message) with alcohol you would be okay???

  4. The Badger bakery on Lordship lane (opposite the library) does amazing bread. It costs a bit more but worth it. They have another store further down lordship lane opposite coop.
  5. There are half houses in Silvester road and Landells Rd, most have the staircase running from the back of the house to the front with a tiny square of 'landing' at the top, i wondered what these were like originally?
  6. We live in a 'half house', i think this would originally have been one double fronted terrace which has been split down the middle to make two houses. Does anyone know what the original layout would have been and were the original stairs were?
  7. Hi, The government has just invested alot of money in 'short breaks' for children with disabilities, short breaks can be many things, but accessible leisure activities would definitely qualify. You could contact the local authority Disabled Children's Team and find out who their short break commissioner is, they may offer small grants to set up a course of lessons for children to have as their allocated short break. Alternatively families with disabled children may receive direct payments which they may want to use to pay for some sessions in holidays or at weekends if you were to set something up privately. They may also have a parent network you could ask for your information to be sent to. If you PM me i can give you some more info about the Local Authority i work for and how it works there.
