Scala Personal Training at Everyone Active (was Fusion), East Dulwich.
greenwater replied to Giulio Scala's topic in Reviews
Giulio has been helping me get fitter, stronger and slimmer since having my two kids. I can truly say I look forward to our sessions as they are always varied and actually quite good fun! He pushes me to the edge of my ability and I achieve a lot more with him than when I go alone. Now convinced the husband to go, who was very reticent following a heart attack and years of no sport. As predicted - he too has also now caught the bug! If you are looking for a seasoned, friendly and non-intimidating PT, give him a whirl. -
A program on Damilola Taylor's life I believe...

You sweep it :). Once a week. More or less onerous depending on the size of your garden!

We just used easigrass too. Seeing all the layers and effort they put in, I would never recommend doing it yourself unless you are very fit! Transformed the garden. It's just super functional and means we end up spending a lot more time outside as a family.

Someone around nutbrook has lost a black cat. Signs up on the streets around there. -

Dhjs - I think your idea of a multi-use community space is fantastic. I can see children from at least 3 local schools benefitting from shared facilities, plus that area is relatively lacking in large communal spaces for the community. Do you know if the land has been designated for anything yet or not? Thanks

I started our side return extension at 33 weeks pregnant and it was finished when our daughter was 10 weeks old. Did I mention my 3 year old? :). You will be fine. It's a mindset thing. It is true though - the dust gets everywhere so doing these things in summer is good so you can be out the house. Also remove as many possessions as possible to storage. Much easier to unpack than attempt to remove dust from every single nook and cranny of every single possession. Taking up your carpets is an excellent idea as is one room of "peace". Our builders protected our floors and boarded up our staircase to minimise chaos and unwelcome access upstairs. Ask your builders what they can do to make things more livable for you. Good luck.

French Playgroup for a 3 year old...
greenwater replied to PipB's topic in The Family Room Discussion
No but there seem to be a growing number of French families looking for conversation opportunities for their children (and themselves). I tried to instigate a meet up a few years back but it didn't take off. I thought a last Sunday of the month afternoon meet up (pub with playroom or park) might be a nice way to meet other French people/French speaking folk. Any thoughts? I have a 3 yo and 1 yo. -

Or airbnb is very popular in Paris and you can get some cracking apartments if you have a good budget. -

Our son is at LJ - we all love it. The communication and feedback between staff and parents is fantastic. I think the owner/managers are completely invested in the nursery and always looking to improve the nursery through new ideas. The expansion this summer means a much bigger garden for the older ones to play in - which will prove a big hit amongst the children no doubt. Good luck with choosing!

Recommended nurseries in East Dulwich?
greenwater replied to NigelG's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My son is very happy at Little Jungle, but good luck with the waiting list! -
Just consider it on an hourly basis. I think rates for a good nanny are ?10/hour for single child and ?12/hour for two kids. You are asking for a long day so I think it's fair to pay higher end. That's what we paid our nanny. I don't know what nannies charge when they bring their own child to work but I would guess it's less although I wouldn't say half. Good luck!

Nanny versus nursery - what are your thoughts???
greenwater replied to 2nd time mummy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I did nanny share until just under 2. Will do same for second. They don't get as ill as they do in nursery so less stressful for you re taking time off. Also far more flexible on hours and being eg 10 mins late. I also like the idea of them being in a home environment when tiny. Personal choice though - I have friends who went down the nursery rout and are very happy. Try simplychildcare.com. We for d our nanny on there and far cheaper than agencies. Good luck! -
Mario - when are you opening? In time for Christmas?
