Shame the cafe has changed management. Stopped off regularly for a coffee and bacon sarnie. Coffee now is insipid and flavourless. Will go elsewhere. The new management are a chain with strong links to Royal Parks, so probably out bid the old lot, the wind has blown in from a new direction....!

How about the old Southwark Council building next to East dulwich pool on Goose Green? Good sized venue, decent parking and a short walk for many local residents.

They lost the plot at BMC. Staff too young and 'groovy' to give service. And that creaky floorboard at the front gets on my man-boobs.

Easily the best restaurant in ED. Chef was at St Johns in Smithfields.

It's dated old Springers. Reasonable food with goodish wines. 20 covers inside. The problem with the property regarding purchasing it, is the access to the upstairs flat is through the restaurant. Thought about it, but not really viable IMHO.

Just to update people. The boy was seriously injured by a smoke bomb in his pocket. He suffered 40% burns (3rd degree burns). He almost didn't make it through the night, but is stable in a hospital outside of London. It was not a malicious attack, but a very horrific accident. I was one of 3 adults who tried to do whatever we could. I hope those other 2 adults (and their kids) are able to move on with their lives, as this was deeply traumatising for all involved. It has helped me greatly to hear that he will make a full recovery, and that the fast actions of those people who called 999, and gave First Aid probably saved a young life.
