LadyMuck in the context of wider discussion I thought the mod's signoff of "Hope that clears this important matter up!" was cheekily but good-naturedly sarcastic and intended to fit in with the sort of humour one often reads in your posts. Why you hit a flashpoint over it I can't say - I've reread it several times now, I don't see any problem with that post at all - I don't know why it warranted 3 successive responses from you. But requoting endless sections isn't going to help anyone. PM me if you like My suggestion is drop it for now and Admin will deal with it on his return. As for Lost & Found, I'm 99% sure it is coming so please hold tight

If people are receiving abusive posts - report them to Admin and the offender will be warned don't directly quote PMs in public (if I have removed posts which have not actually quoted directly, PM me and I'll restore them)

I have just rempved 4 or 5 posts - apologies to all concerned as some points were valid but they will just prolong the back and forth of unrelated posts - if anyone has a beef, PM each other rather than having it out on THIS thread. Likewise, and other non relevant posts hereon in will be removed too

Virgin and sky don't make very much tho do they? Sky getting much better but neither comes close to the breadth of BBC tv, radio and web

Dodgy conversions are bad enough but to have purpose built flats without sound insulation is just shoddy planning/building. I have had to leave previous addresses and you have my total sympathy

Not West Ham as it's too close to Leyton Orient's ground." which is true as far as it goes but realistically what would be the point of that - would LO acquire 40 thousand fans to fill the thing? there are pros and cons to the other argumenst I agree with football grounds NOT having a running track (which it would do with West Ham bid) but equally I agree that no British bid would be worth anything if this committee reneged on a key promise before being awarded the bid I think it's West Ham's manor (ish) so would support that - but for the reasons I mention above I don't support the athletic track Spurs moving would be just about do-able (in the face of justified and massive opposition from their own fans and Hammers alike) - but they would have to jettison the Tottenham bit of the name (just as Arsenal lost the Woolwich bit years ago)

Again, mentioning the pitchforks isn't meant to be taken literally, but I for one think too many posts on here are downright ugly and it's a losing battle trying to balance them Some good hard facts are always a help, but by the same token half a picture can be worse than no picture. There is, to my eyes, a thirst for bad news out there and it's not hard to imagine many people looking up their postcode to go "aha I knew it! There is crime in my area!! " without looking at wider trends And for anyone with a more balanced view and a willingness to combat crime, I'm not sure how these figures help - do you go to a police station and say "boys and girls in blue... look!! get your act together" I'm neutral about the crime site itself... but I do wonder what the real point (rather than aspirational "communities working with police force" rhetoric) will be

DJ - other posters have mentioned it on the thread, other posters again have complained to admin and one of the moderators has asked people to take a step back There are clues there it would be good if the thread could be kept open but like any emotive thread where people's feelings are running high and others are raw it is close to being closed. So please, anyone, no more smart comebacks or pointless speculation.

It's the very fact that the BBC exists that ITV and C4 have to been seen to compete with them - the BBC sure isn't perfect but if it goes, the plunge downmarket from the other stations will be swift
