  1. I've taped it to watch later so can't comment Nice to see someone else get the noone-is-replying-to-my-post paranoia blues too ;-)
  2. For many things probably, but specifically: Some poor forumite was unfortunate enough to sit next to me on a bus today and discovered I'm not a morning person It's nothing personal G, honest J
  3. Now I did read quite a long article about this somewhere in the last couple of months (did a quick google but couldn't find it) Basically it's all very Heath Robinson at the moment but new equipment and networks being put in place over the next 2 years to provide a much more accurate service etc I might have mentioned beforfe about bus stops - some stops just ARE better than others - no logic to this but I ALWAYS have to wait for a bus outside ED station but if I wait at the stop by Goose Green there seems a steady supply - weird
  4. Who was partial to the occassional Leffe
  5. Louisa Don't think many of us on here have described it as a spit n sawdust pub. And we know it was the Just So pub co that ripped out the heart of the original Plough. But most of us didn't like the place because... well it was always to easy to beloeve that what happende on Fri night would happen at any given time - And middle class drones is... generalising a bit isn't it?
  6. And as we know, in a previous life Jimmy Carr was Lloyd Cole
  7. For some bizarre reason this is one thread I haven't paid much attention to despite music being one of my major "things" But now I have something to disagree with Mockney about. Bellenden Belle, I too am looking forward to the Rufus album (out today I believe) I wasn't that aware of him until Glasto 2005 where Mrs Macgabhann kept saying how much she wanted to see him. I forgot all about it (partly aided by Brendon Burns' erm.. generosity in the comedy tent) and met a friend near the jazzworld stage - we took an intoxicated wander and after all of the rain that weekend. the sun was BACK and had dried out the Other Stage to a point where it looked like Tattoine. Anyway we stumbled across Rufus near the start of his set and were both transfixed. It was one of those cases where I got home and bought the back catalogue... And his performances on Jon Ross and Andrew Marr this weekend have been pretty darn fine J
  8. That's exactly what I said to Jamie! I think the bigger concern is where to put the wires around the pub - I know they have been to Richer Sounds as well
  9. About the sound system - I think Jamie's partner Viv has posted about how they have had several quotations and been let down by a couple of installers so they are definitely doing what they can I have spoken to Jamie a couple of times now and he's clearly got his eye on the ball and will do anything to make this succeed but being a new landlord and in a slightly off-the-beaten-track location, not everything will come together immediately I wish them nothing but good will - and will be back soon despite it being as far from my flat as is possible whilst still being in the same area
  10. Lavender Blue, Tillie Tillie..
  11. I like the new name and cheers Mike for the curry tip yesterday
  12. Jimmy Carr gets a bad rap - I wish he wouldn't hawk himself around TV so much but there is a fine wit at work in his material when I've seen him live Also, away from the stage he is genuinely self-effacing and not at all the smug git he portrays
  13. Steph You say that like it's a BAD thing?!!
  14. Thanks for the updates Karter Didn't it used to be an International Cocktail Bar or something? As for healthy eating I would have thought the salads and light lunches in Green and Blue would hit the spot
  15. I turned up towards half time in the West Ham game with Matt at Mrs MacGabhann for a couple but didn't get a chance to join the throng in the corner
  16. 8 white vans as well as a big removal van parked up in the car park today. That's some serious work going on in there...
  17. karter So Hisar is due to change is it? Not sure that's a good thing. After struggling in various incarnations it has really seemed to take off in the last year or two and I have never had a bad night there. There is room for improvement but I hope they don't throw the baby out with the bathwater
  18. When I read about the chilli a lightbulb went on over my head - "I bought lot's of chillis yesterday!" - I had clean forgotten What a weekend - great to meet everyone again (and again)
  19. I thought the music at the fair yesterday was top-notch so well done to everyone involved I think a few people had their forum cherry popped yesterday.
  20. Ignoring the vulgarity of Mog's question.. I just wanted to re-iterate to Mark my thanks for all the effort he puts in. I know he enjoys it but so many people benefit and appreciate it -
  21. should be heading down in the next hour or so.. but every time I look out that window. Where did Kate Bush put that Cloudbusting machine?
  22. Im sure it sells Man Utd shirts with Sharp as the sponsor
  23. just saw the forecast for today shivers tries to remember the dictum "no wrong weather just wrong clothes" but decides that's bobbins
  24. that's my guess
