  1. I saw them wrap up Glastonbury 2005 in the Acoustic tent late on Sunday night - t'were a great send off
  2. Another hand up for the bollards
  3. * likes the cut of evryones jib today * * decides today, like every other, would be a perfect day to hear Witchita Lineman come on the radio *
  4. There are always nervous looking newbies - it was me 2 drink ups ago and several others at the last one - and we all came back so a pretty friendly bunch Mike & Georgia are organising the next one - it's at The Gowlett pub just off Goose Green approx - know it?
  5. Hey GG I have played the Dulwich & Sydenham one (the one in the woods) - non members can pay and play during weekdays. Bit pricey and not very long or challengin but nice views across London A few other posters have mentions other municipal coursel in Brockley/Beckenham way I think (I'll be relying on a lift in that case) Your poor Mrs won't know what hit here when she arrives you have so much planned for her!
  6. OK - I've had a few PMs on this subject as well so let's get down to business As there are a few noobies I'm going to book a few lanes at the Croydon driving range so I need to know: How many and what evening? I am going to aim for Tues evening next week so please raise your hand or come up with a better suggestion
  7. I hope this meetup won't interfere with y'all coming to the next EDF drinkup on 1st June?
  8. So now you know who he is mp?
  9. As Iggy Pop once sang "I got mine" I hope Domitianus' post was a joke. Like everything, I know what is meant but it can come across as so mean-spirited.
  10. eek Tillie - I didn't mean to upset you (or anyone) - come back! Serves me right for trying to post on a complex subject in between work moments
  11. Overheard Fixed
  12. It must be - I just hope that doesn't mean it becomes another "brewed under license" before quickly becoming homogenised
  13. How did we find out about Peroni being your favourite tipple or how did we find out about Peroni? The former: Just now when Fear n Boozin said it The latter: About 1987 when I first went to Pizza Express Of late I've seen it on draught in The Drum, The Dog, and a few other places which for the life of me I can't recall
  14. Tillie I think you answered the question - by the "extent" of emotion I meant the ribbons, candles, scrapbooks of every paper cutting etc I don't see anything wrong with any of us being emotional to some degree - I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone on here
  15. Huguenot Well posted - it has managed to say what I've scrapped 4 posts trying to say One of the other things bothering me is the multi-million reward offers. Am I wrong in thinking that there is surely something wrong with anyone who could report anything which may help find the girl but won't unless the price is right? I'm glad people aren't thinking "well it's nothing to do with me and mine so..." but the extent of emotion from those of us so far removed from the scene unnerves me
  16. 07:05 Tillie, thanks for asking I am pretty laid back about most things but being punctual is a REAL thing of mine so I do always know the time Sad maybe but I never keep anyone waiting
  17. Nice one Keef - that is both picky and correct. Blast you man! Re the road works - my impression is that the situation has improved greatly in the last couple of weeks. Bith getting to and from work, the tailback by the temp lights don't take anywhere near as long. Whereas the delays mean I didn't get to E&C until 8:15 + I now find I'm getting there about 7:55 (that sounds like I keep a log of every day.. I don't really)
  18. GG I've taken tthe train to Edinburgh many a time and it's a great journey. Just long enough to read lots, have a few cold drinks and enjoy the scenery I especially like pulling in to Newcastle near the bridge, and passing Durham, not mention arriving in Edinburgh itself. I'm jealous now... right, that's it, I'm booking a trip soon
  19. ** darn it, work firewall has stopped MP's sketches displaying ** ** wonders how DM's head is this morning **
  20. Nice one Vick - will drop in to the shop soon as well
  21. You might be right Jan T re: businesses losing custom But why does everything have to be EASY these days - honestly, how this country ever won a war is beyond me If we left cars out of the equation FOR JUST A SECOND, can you imagine the community of SE22 enjoying a leisurely stroll around LL without dodging cars. It wouldn't matter a jot then that all of the bars are on one side of LL and ALL the freaking cashpoints are on the other ( I mean, what gives with that), children playing in the street as their parents selected fresh food from the fume free stalls. ANd the shops could easily be booming if only people weren't forced at gunpoint to get in their cars and drive away from this oasis down to megamart'r'us. I'm sure traders would worry if cars were restricted (I remember a heavy sticker campaign in all the shops a few years back) - but we could allay their fears by still going anyway. Anyone who has ever seen me get to the top of LL with 5 or 6 heavy bags of goodies, puffing like a trooper will know I don't just talk the walk
  22. But he who starts in the lounge Is destined for the rathole

  24. This is the one I've been too before - near Arena tram station I think, and close to South Norwood nature reserve place Weather had better improve first tho
