  1. Looks like I'm doing it myself! Thanks guys
  2. Hi everyone, I am about to embark on a loft conversion and kitchen extension and need a party wall agreement. I have been researching online and it looks like companies charge ?50 - ?100 for arranging. I have also found that you can down load your own forms and do it your self. It looks simple enough and has the added bonus that it is less formal so I could take the forms round in person and they can give me the acknowledgement letter rather than having to post it back. Any advise? Thanks Suzie
  3. I find a spreadsheet with in-comings and outgoings that you complete each month keeps you more aware of what money you have left to spend. Once I know what's left for the month I then break the amount down to a weekly amount so I know what I can spend. We don't always stick to it but it keeps our spending under control most of the time. I also put into the monthly budget an amount to go into a savings account and transfer it online the day I/my hubby gets paid. Hope it helps... S
  4. Thanks for your reply edanna. I appreciate the difference in ages and should have noted that my daughter will be one when she goes. If you or anyone has any idea in the costs it would be much appreciated. Thanks Suzie
  5. I would really like my child to go to a Montessori nursery but am trying to works out costings. I am going to try and contact the nursery on Monday but being impatient as ever I wondered if anyone could give me an idea of the cost for the above nursery for 2 days a week? 6. Hellosailor where did you get your info on the new nursery on Goodrich road? I live in that road so it would be great for me but u can't find anything in the Internet and there are no signs in the buildings surrounding that junction. Thanks
  7. I've noticed on a couple of threads on here that people have mentioned a new nursery opening in the above location, does anyone have any further info? I live on Goodrich road and am looking for a possible nursery from July so would be very interested. There was some talk of it being a Montessori nursery but I cannot find any info anywhere in the Internet and I walked up there today and there are no signs on any if the buildings in that junction? Thanks
  8. I need a little help, I am very torn between nursery and a childminder for my little one when I return to work in July. I will be going back to work on Mondays and Fridays and need care from 8am - 6/6.15pm. Fridays may be a little more flexible as my husband works from home so will be able to do drop off/ collection. I guess my main questions are firstly re cost. My preferred nursery charge ?530 a month for 2 days. Can anyone give me a rough idea on the cost of a childminder? A nursery fee obviously includes all food and activities. Can anyone give me an idea of what they spend on these things when using a childminder? When, if I wanted a childminder would I have to start looking? How far in advance can you secure a childminder? Lastly are there any circumstances where the childminder collects your child, I haven't obviously done it as yet but I am assuming time will be tight when I am trying to get out of the house in the morning. Any help is much appreciated Thanks Suzie
  9. *As a child not cold - damn auto correct
  10. Etta166 - I was fully breast feeding, had chicken pox as a cold and my little one still got it at 6 months old so I'm not sold on this whole immunity from the mother if BF ......
  11. My little one (6 months old) has just had chicken pox and you wouldn't have known. I also have 8 nieces and nephews all of which have had CP and none of them have had complications but the older the were the harder it was with the scratching more than anything. I have also had an uncle who had CP as an adult and he was terribly ill so have have seen first hand that CP is 10 x worse as an adult than as a child. I do agree though that parents should be made more aware of the option of a vaccination but also feel that it shouldn't be pushed as the illness itself is not a risky one for children unless you have a weakened immune system.
  12. I swaddled my little one till about 3/4 months then went to a grow bag as she was frequently getting out of the swaddle by then. I also did it little by little with arms out first then during her day time naps then lastly over might and didn't have any problems.
  13. I have been experiencing this too. Last night and it seems to have started tonight as well. I put it down to power surges or may some water has got into something somewhere..... Lets hope it doesnt get worse and lead to a powercut.
  14. I am on Goodrich Road and have no water, havent had any since about 8.20. We had no warning either.
