  1. Hi, Both my wifes car and mine had tickets placed on the windscreens by PCSO's today, (tax expired 31/08/09) this was despite confirmation emails from the DVLA that Tax, MOTC and Insurance were current and placed in the windscreens. One ticket was dated 1/9/08 the other 09/9/08 (issuing tickets in advance?). I went to the Police station to question the matter and ask to see a superior officer and was told that he was not available as they did not know where he was, I was not given a complaint leaflet, nor a 'CAD' number. Further, I was told that everyone makes mistakes when writing things down and should ignore it. I explained that in magistrates, county, crown and bench divisions mistakes are inexscusable, why should officers of the Met be allowed to make a mistake. Having taken further advice i again went back into the station and again was refused a 'CAD' (incident/complaint number) I wrote down the time and date of my attendance and told the station officer that I do expect a call. My moan is that when you go to complain should somebody not see you and investigate the matter, to make matters worse the civilian employee stated that the email from the DVLA may be forged. I explained that I did not think you could send a email with a false address as the senders true identity shows, he just laughed. On Saturday I paid 460 pounds to our government and then extra tax on fuel and insurance. Is it not time we stood up to the powers that be? Your advice and answers please. Regards, Libra Carr.
  2. Dear *Bob* I think I am missing the plot a little, can you explain what half a hole is please. I thought a hole was a hole. (One of our quiz questions was 'If it takes three men three days to dig a hole, how long will it take one man, one day to dig half a hole?' . Every body would write down one day Ha Ha! Regards, Libra Carr.
  3. Dear Lisa, Please reply to 'AcedOut' posting. regards, Libra Carr.
  4. Hi, Is it not time that we embrace a new business that is trying to succeed in the current downturn?. The new shop has placed itself in a arcade that is dying. Three recent owners in the fish and chip shop in as many years. The pottery shop that has gone into receivership twice, the chinese restaurant that is always empty, the newsagents that has had to resort to obtaining a offsales licence to compete and the bad reports of the so called gourmets that frequented the Locale on its opening week. I think that you should take a look at yourself and ask if you are qualifed to comment! It is my understanding that the bike people have opened a shop to service sales through to after sales and beyond. If they wanted to open up a lock-up or garage, they would have done just that, without the huge rent/rates applicable to this area. It is so easy to slag off companies/individuals that try to provide, in good faith, a service ie Budgens, Raisin, Magdala, Booteeki, and more recent the comments on the traders in North Cross Road. If you are so expert in trading style help these people out, do not sit behind a computer and write negative piffle as it is you that embarrass yourselves. Here endeth the second lesson. Regards, Libra Carr.
  5. Hi, I had a puncture today! I left my car in Oakhurst Grove and then drove to the filling station at the bottom of Lordship Lane to get my card cloned. When I came out I noticed my car tyre was flat. Might it be that some local tyre repair shop needs to earn more money, as it appears obvious that it is the work of one party and the punctures are occasioned by screws only. Normally, punctures occur from a wide range of sharp instuments. Oh well, better go to watch the big fight in Somerfields or the telly in Foxtons Ha Ha. Regards, Libra Carr.
  6. Hi, Just to add my views on this matter. I have been involved in child protection, and too this day we still do a show for children. All of us have to have clearance from the police, insurance and a four sided arena so that children may be watched from all areas. We do have a problem with photographers that enter the arena and take photo's of the kids enjoying themselves. If they are bona fide then they will show ID. Quite clearly, if a person is videoing from the hip then he/she is suss, as they need to view to make sure they have the subject into camera. If they are above board they will also carry a media union card and will have gained permission from the authority governing the filming location. In this day and age, you cannot be to careful. I think prevention of potential abuse is better. Ring the police advise them of your concerns. If the cameraman is innocent then then the police will let him carry on. Regards, Libra Carr.
  7. Hi, As in my previous messages, you should alway's cover your busy hand, look to see if anyone is parked nearby that may be using a covert camera, and if you cannot do that use a bank that allows you access into the bank out of hours or a post office to withdraw cash. At the end of the day you do have a duty of care, the money provider could possibly refuse to reimburse you if you have been negligent. Please refer to my ealier posting's which will advise you of the suspect shops and ATM's in East Dulwich. Take care. Libra Carr.
  8. Hi, The maggots available on the NHS Are Not organic and farmed, they also do not give recipes with the pack. regards, Libra Carr.
  9. Hi, Just to clear the matter up about the police. They have not put ATM's at Banks! The duty of care is with the provider. Put a facility in for your customer and make sure its fool proof. If you have not installed adequate and foolproof equipment - don't go to the police and whinge. Its your problem (the banks) not the police's fault. Its a pity that a lot of police time is wasted when banks rip you off anyway, and then moan about getting ripped off themselves. Got to go the tart looks cooked. Regards, Libra Carr.
  10. Hi, Maggots (humanely killed) are a good source of protein! Bye.
  11. Hi, If any one ever bothered to read my messages with regard to machines, they will have read that the Tesco Metro store in East Dulwich Road, The filling station in Grove Vale, Budgens in Lordship lane and also HSBC in the Lane are all subject to repeated attempts to get your money. My advice is that you should make sure that before the weekend you have enough money, withdraw from inside a bank or Post Office, and you will not get a reality check! On another point it seems that the energy companies are doing the same, but appear to do it legit!. Regards, Libra Carr.
  12. Hi, If you are wanting a Barbie at the weekend get a "after 9.30" cheap day return, pack your barbie (not disposable as they litter everwhere) and head off to West Beach, Littlehampton! No people or funfairs! abandoned beach its good. Marinate your meats the night before, wrap them individually in foil, cook them in foil for about ten minutes, then seduce them slowly onto the hot coals. Open the Wine and watch the cool sea and the sun gowing down. When all is done head back to London with the spare bottle of wine (in case one smashed on the journey) open on the train and then doze until your at your destiantion. All you need is a good rucksack and cool bag, frozen water to keep the wine and meats chilled and the need to extend your boundaries. Enjoy. Regards, Libra Carr.
  13. Shouldnt really say this but....... Some vehicles are covered by a weather protecter, which means the camera cannot identify the plate. Which means if you are a tad late you will miss getting caught!. Just wait until the parking permit plan is rolled out into East Dulwich in a couple of months! you will then have to pay to park and have to have your car taxed as well!. I wish I was a council!
  14. Hi Again, Just to set the matter a little bit clearer the cloner does not even have to leave the UK. Within twenty minutes of my card being read in East Dulwich it was being used for a transaction in Abu Dhabi! Not even Stelios or Richard can fly you that fast!. Regards, Libra Carr.
  15. Hi, Just to recap on my earlier postings with regard to the cloning of cards. The following businesses have had fraudulent activity. The majority of card suppliers are aware and you may, as a result, have your card declined. Please note that this does not suggest that the company/business involved are fraudsters, but have also been subject to the crime. Texaco Garage - Grove Vale (interior card facility) Tesco's - East Dulwich Road (Exterior Cash Machine) Budgens - Lordship Lane (interior card facility) Somerfields - Lordship Lane (Interior card facility). It must be pointed out in this case that the units that have been corrupted are the multi flow units and NOT the single units facing the front entrances. And finally.....You must remember that if a Credit Card Company gives you a credit facility, it is up to you to make sure that you act responsibly with it, and not wilfully ignore there advice.
  16. Hi, I had the same problem (as reported on this site). I have the addresses of all the directors of the company and will look for them if required. You may also wish to note that the director of the company appears as a co-presenter of the BBC programme 'Beat the Bailiff!' There is a person that hates Wardens and Bailiffs and will help you to get your money back. It costs a small fee but works. I do not know the website, but I would Google which I did. Good Luck. Libra Carr.
  17. Hi, I think it is quite sad that you have to moan about the birds. They are the start for you to a bright new day, to encouragae you to wake up and grasp the new day. If you do not like birds I suggest you visit Auschwizth (might be spelt wrong) in Germany, A stark reminder what life is like with no birds or wild animals. Just enjoy nature as it was intended. Regards, Libra Carr.
  18. Hi, I can be at any junction of the M25 after leaving Dulwich within the hour. (M23 35 minutes) I find that if I leave at 6am or after 7pm then the traffic is less. My answer is forget the south circular road, and if going north west the A40. If I have to go to Oxford M40 I go via East Dulwich Grove, Half Moon Lane, into Brixton, left after the tube to Vauxhall, stay on the south bank, pass the dogs home then turn right to take you over the bridge. Go into Earls Court keeping at all times to the right lane as it is quicker. Turn left onto the A4 keeping in the left lane, again quicker and carry onto the M4. When you get to the M25 go northbound for a mile or so onto the M40. Far quicker than coming out of London on the A40. Use the same route for the M4. If you ever have to go to the A12 route go via Bermondsey Tunnel, up the M11 then round to the A12, again a lot quicker. Finally, I think if you go to the RAC website, they will do a root for you! Regards, Libra Carr.
  19. Hi, I had to eat at the Harvester with the extended family for my mother in law's birthday. Does anyone know the rating of this place please, as if it scores low, I can put my case for not going in there again. Regards, Libra Carr.
  20. Hi, Boris got my vote because he is cute and doesnt comb his hair. I have also noticed that my local traffic lights seem to change quicker now he is in power. Another thing that I have noticed is that he does not face the press all the time with useless quotes. He seems to avoid the media circus and badger's away. I think he is so nice i might just pretend to snog him! Regards, Libra Carr.
  21. Hi, I have been in the store on the last two evenings, they were selling reduced chilled food from a trolley that is not chilled, this contravenes the health and hygeine act. I have spoken to the management and the head office in Bristol on many occasions about this problem and the educating of current staff, yet this still goes on, Perhaps it is time for the store to close before we have a epidemic in East Dulwich. Regards, Libra Carr.
  22. Hi, I too have had problems with JBL.(Drakes are another bad company) On ringing the office hotline I was asked for my name, I said sorry can I have your name first, the person refused to give it. I had a parking ticket that within three weeks of issue had gone from ?60 to ?745.00! The bailiffs were instructed and attended the day before the appeal! I have somewhere the private addresses of the directors (available freely via companies house) I can assure you that they do not like you waiting for them when they get home! The director/owner/scumbag also co presents 'Beat the Bailiffs' on BBC TV I requested an interview with the BBC retained presenter but was told she was not available for interviews. If there is a sufficient amount of complaintants you could form a group and attend the addresses with perhaps ITV, it would be interesting and may make them re-think their way's. Regards, Libra Carr. ps I was a Certificated Bailiff, but never prayed on the inocent. I always managed to obtain my fee as 99 times out of a 100 the council was wrong, strangely, I never seemed to be in constant employment.
  23. Dear Victor, Do you think you may have been playing cricket in the wrong area, as from my viewing of the park some adults do tend to not realise which area is for the dogs. By the way, doggy do doo's can be fatal for a child. In the first instance you must get antiseptic wipes and clean the infected area, then make sure the part of the body does not come into contact with the mouth of the child. When I lived in Sussex a child died as a result of this. Regards, Libra Carr.
  24. Hi, Off the thread slightly... We took all of our family including kids to the Harvester last night for my Mum in Law's birthday. The Chicken was overcooked and tough, the ribs were disgusting and my rump steak had to be sent back. The hot rolls were perfect, the butter spreadable, and a pint of lager ?2.20!!! Given that it was an occasion for the mum in law and that the restaurant cope with youngsters we thought it better to go their as it is more of a family atmosphere. I think it is reasonable as an employer to test drive your staff to ensure they can cope with the customer demand. Pay them for the session, if they cannot cope then explain to them and part company. This might reduce negative comments on forums. Everybody needs a chance to prove themselves, and I think we need to show this. The final bill was over ?200 for nine people, given that its someones occasion you must not ruin it by complaining, but to close the matter the Eastern European fell in love with my Amex Card resulting in me calling them on leaving the 'Restaurant' and advising the cost of the bill and to stop all subsequent transactions. In closing I am trying to work out if I am a amateur or proffesional critic. Regards, Libra Carr.
