  3. My son lost a brand new fluffy fleece somewhere on the streets of ED while trick or treating last night. Gutted. Please pm if you have seen it. Many thanks
  4. Many children are going to Harris boys/girls, St Thomas and Apostle, Deprford Green, Haberdashers
  5. Sounds like a parent complained, the nursery then retrospectively reported the same Incident to ensure they didn?t get caught out for failure to report. I?d speak to them about the incident and see how forthcoming they are in giving you the information. Also ask about their behaviour management policy. It doesn?t sound great to be honest. I really really regret not reporting several incidents with my eldest nursery place. They were in clear breach on a number of occasions and I still think about it now years later as I have to walk past the damn place every day. His sight is a great thing but I wish I?d spoken up at the time.
  6. Hi, does anyone have any views of Askes for secondary? And how likely is it to get a place from Nunhead? Any thoughts welcome. Thanks
  7. Bit uncalled for Buxton...you have no idea what the mum in question is busy with. Perhaps trying to work during home schooling? Caring for other children/relatives? Perhaps she is on her own with no partner or family support. You don?t know what anyone is going through behind the scenes so maybe take off hour judgey pants next time? no offence
  8. Hi there, looking for literacy support for my son who is in Y4. Please PM if you are a tutor with availability
  9. Pretty liberal with screen time this end. Probably too liberal at times, especially during lockdown. I?m not to worried about it. We spend lots of time as a family away from screens, children are active, do fine at school etc so I don?t see an issue. I do monitor what they see/do on their though and we do have some rules in place like no screens before school, no screens before homework/reading is done and then off screens at 7.30 to wind down for the night. Not really any restrictions during weekend/school free days.
  10. This thread has reassured me, I?m also waiting for my text for the second Jab to come through. Everyone I know booked their first and second at the same time. It will be 10 weeks next week so hopefully the text will come that week. The cancellations on pfeizer is a worry though. Fingers crossed it will get sorted but it?s hard to relax.
  11. A family member has been booked by DMC to get their vaccine at the tessa jowell centre. Has anyone else had this? I?m just worrying that no reference or anything has been given. No text and no letter (as is the usual way). I?m just concerned my family member will turn up at Tessa Jowell only to get turned away. They struggle with mobility so it a considerable effort for them to get their and I?d hate to think they?d get turned away. Would anyone have any experience to share? Many thanks
  12. Could anyone recommend a local psychiatrist and or one that operates online? Please PM. Thanks
  13. This is heartbreaking to read. I think it does depend on the school and I think different schools deal with behaviour in different ways. Our sons school is really strict. In Y2 he was sent to the head several times for fidgeting and for failing to complete his handwriting in time. (He has dyspraxia). Looking back I wish I had moved him. He was never rude, unkind or disruptive. He was simply a 6yr old boy who struggled to sit down for long periods of time and had a recognised learning disability. He is older now and everything has settled but I should have moved him. I always look back on that time with huge guilt and much regret. PM me if you want to chat OP. Sending a big hug to you and your son.
  14. Well done for reaching out! It is so hard and I can imagine that lockdown and everything else relating to covid has made things really too. Is there anything in particular you?d like support with and maybe some people on here can help to point you in the right direction for support? Gingerbread is a great resource. X
