I also forgot to say that I was told at the same Parent's Forum meeting they have at the school, the Head Teacher said something about Management only being able to be graded as highly as the teaching in the school hence why they will not get Outstanding on their full inspection whenever that may be. Well if this is the case then yes obviously concentrate on improving teaching but also is this just another way of covering up another problem which is that management too need to develop and change certain behaviours?

So the report was finally released! Whilst it wasn't negative, it was certainly not something you would expect to read about an 'Outstanding' school. It was nowhere near as positive as their inspection a couple of years ago. It seems as though the shine that the school wore has rubbed off some what. A friend who went to the last parent's forum (who alerted me to the fact that they were told by the Head Teacher that what was said in meetings was confidential? How that is even controllable is a bit baffling) told me that the Head Teacher said that he was willing to work things out or at least open a dialogue with the unhappy staff, this would be good because it had also been noticed in the meeting that in recent months teachers have been disappearing, if this is related, it would be good to sort the situation out. If it is totally unrelated, well surely dialogue and some form of communication between the two sides would be advisable after all it is the students who will get caught up in it in the long run. I just hope for all involved that management can see that.

Tomk you may well be this person in which case thank you for the information. It would just be good to know for parents and other stakeholders in this school when exactly people will have the relevant information?

Is it true that the school is facing a 'no notice' Ofsted inspection? Anyone know anything about this?

Strong words, but I am inclined to believe (particularly as you point out the investigation is still going on!!!). I don't know whether anybody else saw the programme on channel 4 about buildings and how they affect our moods, which Kingsdale featured on? I can certainly imagine what the mood amongst staff and maybe even students is going to be like after all of this, I am not sure the building is going to help build a positive mood now

Yes I was referring to the comments beneath the article. However, I also take a slight issue with the way in which the 'black headmaster' is being used as this should not be about colour, age, gender etc... it is about an entirely different issue which should nut be blurred by any talk of race!

I have just come back from holiday to see all of the press coverage and have done a little more research online. I am not surprised that the race card is being held up, desperate times and all that! Unfortunately it implies that the whistleblowers were of a certain other colour which is surely not acceptable to be implying? More importantly, it is clear that Kingsdale has improved but my friends and I have questioned for the last 18 months or perhaps since the Ofsted inspection results, how honest this is. The government piles pressure on institutions to be a certain way and get grades, so perhaps this school has fallen victim to this as some of us have expected. I am not a jealous parent, in fact my children are past the secondary school age but I am just a bit concerned about the state of our education at the moment...oh I do sound old now.
