I wouldn't be too surprised if the company already knows about it. However, if it were your company, you would like to think that if someone had stumbled upon alleged embezzlement, then at least it would be brought to your attention. Yes, you should highlight it using Mick Mac's opening line "I'm sure there is a reasonable......etc ".
