  1. Another recommendation for Nico. He came and looked at our toilet last week. He was brilliant and investigated the issue thoroughly, giving us advice and a possible simple fix rather than charging is for a costly repair. He was very knowledgeable and I will definitely be using him for future plumbing issues.
  2. Let me know if it?s yours!!
  3. My daughter is at Goodrich in year 4 and has been there since nursery. She is very happy and doing really well. Feel free to PM me if you want.
  4. We used to use Riverford to get veg boxes but it worked out to be too expensive for us. I have 2 of their foldable delivery boxes and was wondering if I could drop them over to someone who has a regular delivery from them. I don?t want them to go to waste because they make such an effort to reuse them. Thanks!
  5. I found a car key in peckham rye park just opposite the Harris Boys school. I handed it into the park office near the playground.
  6. Can anyone recommend a local instructor for 1 on 1 swim lessons for my 6 year old daughter? She has her 10m badge so not a beginner but could do with a few consecutive days to really get her going this summer. Any recommendations please reply or PM me. Thanks!
  7. Hi there, We got our puppy last June and totally missed out on the puppy training classes!! We did it ourselves in the end and just made sure our pup got lots of opportunities to meet other puppies and see lots of sights. We carried her around wherever we went. I heard really good things about the puppy classes run by a veterinary nurse at the Neighbourhood Vet on Lordship Lane (unfortunately she was on maternity leave when our puppy arrived)maybe give them a call or pop in. We had a private session with Jane at the Dulwich Dog School who was super helpful and gave us advice on some aspects of training that we were struggling with. What breed are you getting? We have a medium crate 36" at the moment which we might get rid of as our dog is smaller than we thought.
  8. Hi, We are an 'only' family. My daughter is 5 and is at school in reception. She has quite a few friends that are also only children which I think helps to show her that there are other children who have no brothers or sisters just like her. To be honest we have always been up front with her about the fact that she won't have a sibling. We have always had lots of friends over, her cousins are close by and we do lots of activities like camping where she constantly meets new friends! I really feel that being an 'only' child is somehow viewed as a negative thing. I don't agree at all, our family of 3 have so much fun, I wouldn't have it any other way. PM me if you want to get in touch Anna
  9. Another recommendation for Richard. He painted and wallpapered my daughter's room last week. He popped over to have a look at the job and quoted the same day (very reasonable). He was on time and very tidy, making sure everything was left neatly at the end of each day. Richard's work was of a very high standard and both the paintwork and wallpaper look great. He also went to great lengths to make sure the job went smoothly, picking keys up from various locations to let himself in when I wasn't there. Very trustworthy and a generally lovely guy. PM me if you want further details or pictures of the job he completed.
  10. Thank you very much to the kind lady who found my wallet in Peckham park and handed it in to dulwich library. I was a bit preoccupied when they called and didn't get your name. I really appreciate your kindness!!
  11. We had our daughter there when she was younger. We didn't think it was good and ended up complaining to the manager. My daughter and another girl were a bit nervous of the water and on occasion they cried. The teacher did not get in with them and did nothing to reassure or encourage them. I over heard her complaining that the girls cried and she just shrugged her shoulders when it happened and let them get out! She was really rude and didn't seem interested at all. Obviously things may have changed since then but I was annoyed that the manager did nothing to address it. Our daughter now has a lesson in the Dulwich Prep pool on Saturday run by Amelia. They are great and teach from in the water. She is now going underwater and is nearly swimming independently. They play fun games and are really encouraging, she hasn't cried once in a whole year!
  12. Does anyone know if the adventure playground is open this half term? What are the opening hours? Thanks
  13. We are thinking of buying a van and converting it into a camper van. I have seen quite a few around East Dulwich and wondered if anyone had any advice as to what type of van to buy. We have a 4 year old daughter, my other half surfs and do we would need to fit quite a lot in it! Any ideas/advice would be much appreciated.
  14. Hi Bels123, I really struggled with this also after my daughter was born. PM me if you want, I've read a few useful books and have done some CBT. There were a few things that really helped me. Not being able to sleep is really awful and I totally sympathise with you. I did get over it though and so will you
  15. Thank you! Fingers crossed I haven't messed it up!
  16. Yikes! Sorry to crash this thread but I have applied to one school in lewisham (the other 5 are Southwark) and I didn't see anything about uploading anything!! Help!!
  17. Hi there, I don't normally post much but I read your post and you could have been describing my daughter. She is 4 now but when she was 7 weeks she was exactly the same as your daughter! I know how hard it can be and I agree with pickle about routine although when you have a baby who fights sleep it seems hard to get any sort of routine going. For the first few weeks I picked some nap times and then did anything that got her to nod off (basically involved me jogging up and down wearing her in a sling!) after a while she seemed to get tired at these 'times' and then I gradually started putting her down in her cot at these times. It wasn't easy but we did get there in the end. PM me if you want to ask anything, a lovely woman on here got in touch with me when I was going through the same thing and was really helpful. X
  18. Hi, My husband was cycling up Underhill Road towards Medford road today at about 10.30am and he thinks he dropped a thin leather card holder with 3 cards in it. It was a Father's Day present for our little girl last year and has huge sentimental value. Cards have been cancelled but hoping we might find the holder. Thank you
  19. Hi, I think it was me (actually my husband!) he may have put it in the wrong section. We will redo it in the proper place! He was fantastic and we can't thank him enough! Anna
  20. I have one...i think, I'll try and dig it out tomorrow if that's not too late?
  21. Going on our first family camping trip so looking to buy a second hand tent or borrow one to test the water. Needs to be a 4/5 man in size, ideally with porch big enough to stand up in and would need to pick up before Friday 23rd May. Please let me know if you can help! Thanks.
  22. We're looking for all of the above, either in one person or 2 or 3 separate people. We live in East Dulwich and have a 14 month old daughter. Any suggestions or recommendations welcome. Many thanks, Anna
