Another recommendation for Nico. He came and looked at our toilet last week. He was brilliant and investigated the issue thoroughly, giving us advice and a possible simple fix rather than charging is for a costly repair. He was very knowledgeable and I will definitely be using him for future plumbing issues.

Does anyone use Riverford fruit and veg? Favour needed!
anna79 replied to anna79's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks, all sorted! X -
We used to use Riverford to get veg boxes but it worked out to be too expensive for us. I have 2 of their foldable delivery boxes and was wondering if I could drop them over to someone who has a regular delivery from them. I don?t want them to go to waste because they make such an effort to reuse them. Thanks!

Recommendation for puppy training classes?
anna79 replied to Lucyalexandra's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there, We got our puppy last June and totally missed out on the puppy training classes!! We did it ourselves in the end and just made sure our pup got lots of opportunities to meet other puppies and see lots of sights. We carried her around wherever we went. I heard really good things about the puppy classes run by a veterinary nurse at the Neighbourhood Vet on Lordship Lane (unfortunately she was on maternity leave when our puppy arrived)maybe give them a call or pop in. We had a private session with Jane at the Dulwich Dog School who was super helpful and gave us advice on some aspects of training that we were struggling with. What breed are you getting? We have a medium crate 36" at the moment which we might get rid of as our dog is smaller than we thought. -
only children: any others out there?
anna79 replied to AnneBowers's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, We are an 'only' family. My daughter is 5 and is at school in reception. She has quite a few friends that are also only children which I think helps to show her that there are other children who have no brothers or sisters just like her. To be honest we have always been up front with her about the fact that she won't have a sibling. We have always had lots of friends over, her cousins are close by and we do lots of activities like camping where she constantly meets new friends! I really feel that being an 'only' child is somehow viewed as a negative thing. I don't agree at all, our family of 3 have so much fun, I wouldn't have it any other way. PM me if you want to get in touch Anna -
Another recommendation for Richard. He painted and wallpapered my daughter's room last week. He popped over to have a look at the job and quoted the same day (very reasonable). He was on time and very tidy, making sure everything was left neatly at the end of each day. Richard's work was of a very high standard and both the paintwork and wallpaper look great. He also went to great lengths to make sure the job went smoothly, picking keys up from various locations to let himself in when I wasn't there. Very trustworthy and a generally lovely guy. PM me if you want further details or pictures of the job he completed.

Thank you very much to the kind lady who found my wallet in Peckham park and handed it in to dulwich library. I was a bit preoccupied when they called and didn't get your name. I really appreciate your kindness!!

We had our daughter there when she was younger. We didn't think it was good and ended up complaining to the manager. My daughter and another girl were a bit nervous of the water and on occasion they cried. The teacher did not get in with them and did nothing to reassure or encourage them. I over heard her complaining that the girls cried and she just shrugged her shoulders when it happened and let them get out! She was really rude and didn't seem interested at all. Obviously things may have changed since then but I was annoyed that the manager did nothing to address it. Our daughter now has a lesson in the Dulwich Prep pool on Saturday run by Amelia. They are great and teach from in the water. She is now going underwater and is nearly swimming independently. They play fun games and are really encouraging, she hasn't cried once in a whole year!
