Hi Ladies. I was wondering if anyone fancied a toddler meet one afternoon next week? Thursday sounded good when we talked about it in the Gardens? We could do play date at a house (happy to host) or at the herbs or the victoria maybe? It'll be my first solo week so looking for lots of activities! I might be able to do coffee on Friday morning too as hubby taking the toddler swimming!

I've not watched this, and have no intention of doing so. (Infact I'm not sure why I read this post.) But TE44 I just wanted to say that shoulder dystocia does not just happen in medicalised births such as when induced. My shoulder dystocia happened, at home, after a perfectly simple labour and sadly my sons outcome was not as good as he passed away a week later due to the brain damage he sustained during his birth.

To stairgate or not to stairgate...
littlemoo replied to sylviamaria's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Can you shut the main living space away from the stairs? We have a gate at the bottom of the main run of stairs as its an open plan space but ds (21months) is pretty good with the stairs and we mainly shut it when other children come over. If you are vigilant and teach them how to be safe on the stairs then you may well be fine without one. -
Bee, I agree with buggie. The drugs dosage is really dependent on weight and the really useful drug is the omeprazole. I would seriously consider going to A&E. If you have night choking you have a valid reason, and children's A&E is very different to normal A&E. I'd turn up on a week day, and basically you will see a pead immediately. They will start the prescription process immediately.

Hi all. I'd also love a weekly meet up but will have my toddler all the time other than wed and Thursday mornings... Maybe we could have a couple of options to include toddlers or not! W would probably be happy for a bit in G&B but I probably wouldn't get a chance to chat! It seems like most people are toddler free at the beginning of the week though by the sounds of it.

Bee, definitely go to A&E. You will see a pead immediately and it was the way we got a proper diagnosis and started on the meds. Hope the book of help. Xx

Hmm, I'm obv not a medic, but it does sound like my ds reflux. I know what you mean about a vivacious circle. He ended up on medication in then end as all the things I'm suggesting worked for a bit, but then he got worse. I hope you have a better night tonight. I remember it all well and am praying the one due to arrive on Friday is more of a sleeper!

pregnant and cant sleep due to twitchy legs/arms
littlemoo replied to pommie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Bananas are meant to help, and they work a bit with me. Good luck, it's horrible... -
Bee, I'm sorry you had another bad night. I found that I couldn't feed W lying down as it made everything worse. I was advised to sit upright and then keep him upright for 20 mins after a feed before lying him down. I know it's not what you want to hear as its exhausting, but you sound like its exhausting anyway do may be worth a try? Good luck with it all.

Bee, If the keeping upright helped it sounds likely that it is reflux. Try letting her sleep on her side too as that was a god send. Having a fast let down really exacerbates reflux, especially as it means a lot of watery foremilk, which is harder to keep down. With W I used to express a bit off at the start (and would often get 120/150ml in less than a minute of hand pumping)then putting him on for a little drink and lots of thicker hind milk which is thicker and stays down easier. Have a look at www.babyreflux.co.uk, it has a good library Of info on reflux. Good luck!

Bee, Could it be reflux? Reflux babies are not always sicky, with silent reflux they often get uncomfortable while feeding (like yours does) and then when lying down hence the trouble settling to sleep unless being held in an upright position. I would keep an eye on it, try feeding her in a more upright position (ds would feed almost sitting upright on my lap) and maybe try tilting the cot/ moses basket. Also speak to your hv or gp about silent relfux. One real sign is when they arch away from you while feeding.

Congratulations Anna! Sounds great other than the pesky retained placenta. Did you get Jaqueline ?!?! Good luck Laura with your consultants appointment. I've just had my last scan and waiting to do all my section paperwork. This one is looking potentially bigger than my last, weighing in at approx 7lb 6 at 36 weeks... Really looking forward to post baby catch ups. Good luck to everyone! Ruth

HI ladies. Congratulations to all the new mums! Very exciting and looking forward to meeting all the new little people. All well here although I keep having runs of BH which are scarily labour like, so am not entirely convinced this little lady is planning on staying put until my section date! I have also just posted this in the classifieds: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,811881 Do let me know if anyone would like it. rx

Anyone bought a buggy from Peppermint?
littlemoo replied to amydown's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I bought a bugaboo bee package from Peppermint online. It was all fine, and at the time (3 years ago) they were offering by far the cheapest deal, so not always high on price. Whenever I've needed anything I've popped into the Clapham store and they have been brilliantly helpful. -
Brilliant news! YOu know that I think you will be the best Midwife ever. xxx
