  1. The first being The Weekly World News? :))
  2. Heh, saw the front page of Private Eye in the window of that newsagents on Dog Kennel Hill, with Darling in a canoe, absolutely priceless (although the pedants may well point to a cover price of ?1.50...)
  3. So, is it just me that's exited about the new Castlevania to hit the DS? Also, you know the worst thing about the DSi? You can bet your arse that a week before Christmas there will be Pokemon/Gundam/Harvest Moon/Final Fantasy/Hello Kitty skinned versions of it on sale, leaving everyone kicking themselves for buying/importing/begging relatives for the boring as hell coloured launch version..I saw a few places in Akihabara where you can have your DS custom-skinned with your images of choice, or if you pay extra for someone (mostly women) to paint your DS for you. The prices were from the equivalent of ?50 up to ?300!
  4. No they have :)) according to Nintendo's Japanese web site, which I would trust more than CVG, the DSi will be region locked for downloadable content only, it remains to be seen whether they will mess with the browser. Of course, you can bet that within a month, there will be a custom firmware to fix this along with any attempts Nin have made to block flashcards and homebrew.
  5. That is only for the downloadable titles by the way :))
  6. Good question, one difference I have noticed is that rats are often killed by cats, I wish our two wouldn't hunt the horrible things, but I have yet to see or hear of a cat hunting and killing squirrels. Maybe squirrels are rats with a heightened sense of feline presence?
  7. As a species we are very much on the tail end of what time we have left. But not to worry, if some of the current theories regarding what we refer to as a universe are confirmed, all it would take is a brief dimensional shift to start afresh. Only problem is we will be extinct before it would be theoretically possible. In the end, with the average length of human life, it really is not worth worrying about :)) open another bottle of wine or spark up a fat one, in the end, there really is absolutely nothing we can or will be able to do about our species collective fate. Oh, I just realised you were referring to the more immediate future. I wouldn't worry, it will be the next generation or two who will be experiencing the water, crop and polar methane fuel wars >:D<
  8. Well, it is buggy as hell, and in my experience, the worst on-demand service I have ever used. But the content is fantastic, albeit in fuzzy vision. I recently had a Peep show marathon, having only seen the latest series and was in telly heaven! If they fixed the interface and upped the rez I would be a regular user, as it is, accessing the various underground libraries out there is less hassle and easier on the eyes to boot.
  9. This extremely talented geezer often posts on 4chan's /p/ section. Recently he took some shots of a Black Widow spider mere inches away from the bugger! Anyhow, I also like taking pictures of creepy crawlies as I figure training oneself to be able to get a decent shot of something that small pays of dividends when shooting larger creatures, like cats or humans. http://www.rdpufallphotography.com/Macro.html
  10. Heh, well, despite my build (think a cross between Hokuto no ken http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/92/Hokuto_no_Ken_tankobon.jpg and Anpan man http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b98/kyoto_ben/anpanman.jpg ) I'm kind of shy :-$ Very messy post, sorry about that! Haven't seen Dulwichmum on here lately, makes more sense getting paid by the word I guess! Actually, fook it, sometime this week I will start a blog :)) , probably using TPB's service, as Google hand over private data all too easily these days. Now if you'll excuse me, I must search youtube for a tutorial on watermarking images in Photoshop! Haven't seen them mentioned here, and far less prolific than before, but always worth a look: http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/
  11. Heh, well I could easily get one free (was in the games biz for ten years, and owed a lot of favours..) but I hardly have the time to play the DS, let alone the Wii which hasn't been played much at all, will sell it soon I think. I also have a Japanese edition of the Virtua Fighter 5 Stick for PS3, which I picked up last year for shmups on mame/finalburn etc but sits un-touched. I just hardly ever have the time for gaming, which, given things I'm involved in, but can't mention here is pretty sad :( I guess my main focus when I have spare time is watching Japanese drama, photography and sorting the house out. Been meaning to start a blog for 10 years now, but something always seems to get in the way, and anyhow, there's already 10k other blogs by other jaded freaks out there. Much as I try to get into modern games, I guess I just love 2d too much, kind of ironic that my DS phat just got crushed and the one guy that could have sorted me out with a new one, gratis (am flat broke!) moved to Australia two weeks ago! The 360 actually outsold the PS3 two months in a row in Japan, whilst the PSP has been outselling the DS there, funny old market lately... Speaking of Puckman, the Namco Gallery for DS had that Gamecube multiplayer version included in it ; )
  12. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7656537.stm Oh boy, he'll probably get a job on tv for this :))
  13. New images of the latest vampire killer romp to drool(blood) over here.. http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/dracula_ds3/gallery/illust.html http://www.gpara.com/article/cms_show.php?c_id=8737&c_num=14 Never coming to these shores, but the Japanese are getting a limited edition with a leather notebook and OST...It will be mine, all......MINE! http://www.gpara.com/article/cms_show.php?c_id=8985&c_num=14 For those not into hunting 1000 year old vampires, this link may be of use if you need inspiration or a memory kick when wondering what to boot up in your emulator of choice... http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ Don't have a 360 (prefer consoles that actually work, thanks), but this looks awesome, I still play Galaga '88 every now and again too... http://galagalegions.namco-ch.net/index.html
  14. Stamp was in the same class as my dad in secondary school :))
  15. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YViJ9KagCJ4 Its a kind of "Visual Novel", a style of game that goes back to the Famicom/Nes days (probably further back than that) which were also popular on the FM Towns / Sharp x68000 series, gaining a wider audience on the PC Engine Disc system, PSX and Saturn etc. This style of game is a fairly new thing to the western market. You should be able to pick up the first 2 in the series for peanuts for the DS I reckon nowadays. Going back on track, some 8-bit joy for free here: http://lifehacker.com/394597/firenes-brings-2000-nes-games-to-your-browser
  16. Maybe hes a fan of that megalomaniac lawyer from Phoenix Wright?

  18. Hell is freedom? [grabs flak jacket] :)) http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr314/Shu_Kurimu_Sensei/freedom.jpg
  19. Um, well wherever this thread is, just thought it might be a nice idea :)) Cheers Asset for the heads up on the food!
  20. Heh, true :)) Also, Freecycle is a great resource for giving and receiving stuff that would otherwise end up as landfill: http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK/London/Southwark
  21. How about a thread for stuff that is free? In the current economic climate, free things are nice. I'll start off with a free calender :)) http://ojara.net/cl/2009/index_e.html All you need is: A - to find someone with access to a colour printer which handles paper bigger than A4 B - Erm, to re-do the public holidays as they are different.
  22. http://www.cram-mag.com/ Good to catch up on what is out there at a more leisurely pace.
  23. Glad you liked Woodie! I can't believe Masamania's site is dead! Do check out the following link as there are still some of his amazing (often NSFW!) work still cached.... http://news.3yen.com/2006-07-15/masamania-is-dead-long-live-masamania/ This picture makes me want to rob a bank and get on the first plane back to Nippon, never to return... http://www.flickr.com/photos/roy61/2214552788/ Also, lmao http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr314/Shu_Kurimu_Sensei/beaches.jpg After seeing these pics, damn do I ever want a fukken 'copter! http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/10/earth_from_above_comes_to_nyc.html
  24. Oh, how about a graphic novel, they OK too? Try Nausicca.
