Hi Just wondered if anyone knew how much it might be to carpet a 2 bedroom flat (2 beds, hall, lounge) with good quality carpet and underlay? Thanks

Hi Does anyone have experience of sound proofing in a victorian conversion? The tenants above us are VERY noisy. We hear every footstep, door slamming, music and even their voices. The flat upstairs has laminate flooring throughout which makes the situation 100 times worse. I have spoken to the land lady of the flat upstairs as we are now at our wits end. I have advised I am going to look into sound proofing their floor. Has anyone had this done - if so how much will it cost for a 2 bedroom flat? I know laying a carpet would help - but will it reduce noise dramatically? I can't see how a carpet will mask the noise these people are making. Any advice or recommendations would be most welcome.

Waterbabies.co.UK do 9 week courses at a private pool in herne hill. Our baby loves it and is half way through level 2. The lessons are quite pricey ?140 for 9 weeks but they teach them really good water skills. The only downside for me is the lady who owns the company. Awful Customer service - but the teacher is good and that's all that really matters. V

Hi The Anna karmel book provides simple good recipes and sections them by month order. I started with mashed banana and basic fruits into breast or formular milk. You can make loads of different purees - it's all about experimenting and introducing them to different tastes. I also used ellas kitchen pouches to help me find out what he liked and disliked! Some of the baby clubs online will send out a weaning guide. I think cow and gate do one. Also your doctor/baby club can refer you to a free weaning workshop and this covers the basiscs. As others have said - 3 months is too young but my little one showed interest from around 17 weeks and at first we started with letting him lick and taste certain foods. Then built up to purees and now he has 3 meals a day. He is 7 months and we are just moving on to more complex meals which include meat etc! It is a messy but fun stage of their development - but do wait until they are ready! Oh.... And buy a good splash mat - it can get messy ha ha Also found the nuby nibbler net great!! It let's you put different foods in a net and they can suck through it - meaning I don't worry about him choking on bits of food.

Hi I am returning back to work in December and have initially been registering at different nursery places in dulwich. I got talking to a friend yesterday and she highly recommended childminding over nursery for when children are younger. My son will be 1 year old when I return to work. Does anyone have any insight in how to investigate this further? Or can anyone recommend a childminder in the area? V

Hi This surgery had always been like this. It's a complete nightmare. You can never get through on the phone - yet when you are sat in the waiting room - none of the reception staff seem to be on the phone. One particular receptionist lady is so rude that I feel relived when she is not there or someone else answers the phone (when it does get answered). The one thing I will say is that you can normally ask for a dr to call you back and speak to you over the phone. Also if you stress it is urgent - they do have emergency appointments which start after 10 I think - but they don't give these out easily. I have been advised to change to the crystal palace road surgery. -
Hi Heard that one of our elderly neighbours had an attempted distraction burgulary on lordship lane today. Two men claiming there had been a leak in the upstairs flat that needed investigating. Luckily she didnt let both men in and so all ok. Seems like they may target more vulnerable people - please be vigilant.

Has anyone else had problems with packages going missing from their post? I have had at least 3 packages go missing from online purchases in the last month. Seems too many to be a coincidence. I know our postman has changed recently............ would be interested to know if anyone else is having a problem. Thanks
