  1. Thank you all so much - this forum has been so helpful (especially reading posts at 4am while feeding the LO!). Fuschia - LO sticks her tongue out really far and I can see her drinking/swallowing well. Also, prior to the "bottle mouth" latch she now displays most times, she had a great wide open latch a la breastfeeding posters. Still manages that in certain positions. Do you think she could still have a tongue tie? Can I just call Clare Kedves to ask her some questions? I'm taking Fenugreek (H&B tablets of 610mg - 3x3 a day) which seems to be increasing supply. No leaking boobs, but definitely feeling much fuller. Only been 4 days (and started with 2tabsx3 a day so have only just upped the dosage) so hoping for further increase in supply. I have a NUK shield I used in week 1/2 when I had bleeding nipples, but LO hated it. Plus the pain now is more like bruising and thankfully there's no shredding/skin peeling/bleeding as I had before. It's also bothering me less as I'm just feeding her whenever she wants and relatching her when it gets too painful. I'm going to keep warm, keep positive (which amazing support like this really helps with) and keep feeding LO as much as possible. If she needs formula 2-3 times a day to get her weight up, then so be it. I'm going to be fighting chocolate bars and all sorts sooner than I imagine, so I think formula is not as evil as I imagined. It helps that I'm finally forgiving myself for failing every step in my birth plan and then not having milk flowing from my breasts for my lovely girl. I'm sure I'm going to make a lot more mistakes as a parent and these were things I really didn't have much control over. Thank you all so much - for these posts and for all other posts on the forum. They are so useful and supportive. Dev
  2. Apologies for posting on an old thread - I was wondering if anyone has been to the Eliot Bank BF Cafe and would recommend it? I need help with latching (baby being mixed fed due to poor weight gain - she was given formula by the midwife at Kings when she was only 24 hours old...shattering my confidence, not helping with initial BF etc. etc...a whole different thread - maybe I should contribute to the BF v Formula thread...it's so complicated!). My LO, now 4 weeks, had a good latch after we had some help from a great lactation consultant (Jill, actually) but now her latch has become like she's going onto a bottle (we cup fed for the first 2 weeks but it finally got too taxing for everyone). She won't open wide at all and I have to keep taking her off when she's just on the nipple and it really hurts. I'm trying to wean her off the bottles (4 "top ups" a day), but don't want to stop cold turkey because she's still not up to birth weight and I don't want to get readmitted to Lewisham! This morning she nursed for over 3 hours because I've removed the morning bottle. I'm absolutely fine with the time spent, but any help with latching would make all the difference especially as it would reduce the pain. She's still drinking, but am sure she could be more efficient again. I will reach out to Jill again, but also want to use the local support available. Thank you in advance!
  3. Hi all, I'm due on 14 October and would love to meet up. Can't do 24th September, but can do 1 October anytime. Devika
  4. We ordered the Bee+ finally. In the end the single unit folding and the weight swung it. Though hopefuly HOP station will have a lift soon and I won't have to carry the pram up and down stairs! Agree the wheels seem a bit flimsy, but they've survived well on my sister-in-law's Bee (not the plus) even over cobblestones in Italy. They had the problematic old wheels, but was fixed last month with the free bits supplied by Bugaboo. Re: the Pebble - it does fit the Bee because we've been lent this by my sis-in-law. But you need the adapters which are about ?30 and available on Amazon etc. as well as JL.
  5. Hi all, I'm due mid-October with our first and live in the HOP area. Wanted to come along tonight but have yoga (can't miss yet another session!) so am going to wait for the next meet up. Look forward to meeting some of you. Hope all goes brilliantly with bringing little George home Ellie and that Henry is close behind! Dev
  6. Thank you all so much for the advice and insight (and hope this is helpful to others too!). I'm still confused between the two, though as people have mentioned maybe the Bee means not having to get a Mclaren or similar less-bulky stroller later. Also needing a double buggy can't be anticipated as you never know how far apart the kids will be in age (baby carrying for the youngest could be a potential solution to having a double buggy?). My niece is over 2 years old and still sits in the Bee comfortably and I generally like it (now that the wheel problem has been fixed). I just really liked the way the Chameleon handles. Need to be realistic in terms of money and what we really need though. I think a trip to Tommy's or Mothercare this weekend is in order to do a good comparison (including to look at some of the others mentioned on this thread), followed by scouring the classifieds for second-hand deals. Quick question...was the wheel problem fixed in the Bee+? Thanks again - the EDF is fantastic!
  7. Hi all, We are about to buy our first buggy and have narrowed down our choice to the Bee or the Chameleon (unless anyone has very strong recommendations otherwise). Our key requirements have been: - Mainly urban use, with potential for some country use. - Lots of bus use (and some dragging up and down stairs in unhelpful train/tube stations!) so width and weight important - Durability so we can use this for baby 2 whenever that may be - Maneuverability and safety I really liked the Chameleon when we tested it (albeit only on the tiled floors of John Lewis), but am concerned it's a bit too wide and bulky for our needs and that the Bee is more suitable. I like the idea of the bassinet in the Chameleon, but for 3-4 months I don't know how much importance I should give this. I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks the 3 inches extra width and ~1kg extra weight is worth it (or not) for the Chameleon. I'd also love to hear if anyone thinks I'm not considering anything else important when assessing buggies which will become evident when I actually have a baby! Thank you so much for your advice in advance! Dev
  8. We recently moved into a new house which needed some painting done in the living room, kitchen and main bedroom. We had a very tight timeframe to have the painting completed and Andy and his team really came through for us. The painting was done within a week and Andy and his team were really friendly, trustworthy and courteous. Pricing was competitive (we had a few quotes) and all receipts, left over paint etc. were provided and accounted for. Andy was happy to came in to do a touch up once we had moved in. I definitely recommend him and his team for painting. He also installed a new light fixture and removed another one - both of which look great.
  9. Hi all, So I need recommendations on really good board games for my husband. We already have Pictionary. Cranium, Articulate, Trivial Pursuit are the obvious choices, but I want something different. I was thinking of getting either Settlers of Catan (played it during a week away with friends about 5-6 years ago - I remember it being great) or the London Game (the London underground game). Two very different choices, I know! Any thoughts, insight, suggestions are very welcome. Thanks! Devika
