  1. had another sighting in Crofton Rd which is just a hop over the railway line from us, so is pretty credible...if anyone lives in Crofton/Bushey Hill roads or Lyndhurst Grove (all in Camberwell), please get in touch! Thanks Bruce & Bron
  2. Poor thing, if you can take it to the vet you can see if it's got a chip...otherwise I would suggest contacting Celia Hammond (Lewisham) or Battersea or the RSPCA. Bruce
  3. So we got a lead about a very big black cat, seen coming out of Lettsom Gardens (Grove Park, Camberwell)last week, which sounds like a good lead and it's pretty close to us...I spent an hour in the gardens calling his name and rustling a treats packet but got nothing although the weather was a bit poor. If it is him, somebody must be feeding him/taking him in...if you live in that area (top of Camberwell Grove, Grove Park, Grove Hill Rd, Bromar, Ivanhoe), please keep your eyes open for him, he should answer/come to 'Cozzy'. Many thanks Bruce & Bron
  4. Hi Vik, I think that was for 'Ivan' who was picked up before Christmas and taken to Celia Hammond. He's still there and a lovely black cat by all accounts, so if anyone is looking for a nice, chatty black cat, give Celia Hammond Lewisham a call. RE: Cosmo, I have checked with the RSPCA and he does have a chip, so it's almost certainly not him, but thank you for thinking of him! B&B
  5. Thank you guys, it's really heartwarming to have such support, it gives us hope! B&B
  6. Already done all that & everything we could possibly do, apart from put traps and static cameras out a la Springwatch! He's either lost and living rough, someone has taken him in or he's gone...I just hope it's the first two. He has a chip so if something has/had happened to him, I'd like to think we'd hear about it.
  7. Hi, just a quick reminder, if you see a big, black cat who looks a little lost, or is begging for food(loudly), or someone you know has taken one in off the street (do please get his chip scanned)...please give me a shout on 07809640218 or pm me. We still haven't given up hope that our wonderful cat Cosmo is still out there somewhere, even after 5 weeks. Thanks Bruce & Bronwen
  8. Really happy for you, told you he'd be back! Bruce
  9. Hi, Unfortunately I have had plenty of experience recently with this (see: Lost Big Black Cat - Cosmo). In all likelihood your kitty will come back in a couple of days, but if not try this, we found it useful as an action plan: http://www.catchat.org/lost.html I wish you all the luck in the world, I know how horrible this feels. Bruce
  10. yeah, we've tried everything, I've registered on all the lost pet sites, put posters up, gone door-to-door, alerted the chip company/Celia Hammond/rspca...I can't think of anything else...he's a big, strong, noisy cat with plenty of character, I just can't believe that he's just disappeared of the face of the planet.
  11. Thank you so much, I'm really glad you found him, that's amazing! We have tried everything, but maybe we should go a little farther out...it's been a month now, so we're both pretty dejected and down, but we still have some hope, especially as you found Spider! B&B
  12. Thank you for your kind words and tips, I will try that...I've read that they're often within a few miles and can get lost and/or disorientated, so if he might be able to 'smell' his way back...
  13. Hi Just a quick message to say that we're still looking for Cosmo, no leads yet, but we're still living in hope. I notice that there seem to have been quite a few cats go missing over Christmas, not sure why that is, but I sympathise with all of you who have lost a kitty, it's a horrible feeling, not knowing what's happened (esp at xmas - kind of ruined ours)and I truly hope that you all have success in finding your little buddies. Bruce & Bron
  14. Hi Ondine, We're going to do door-to-door over the next few days, it seems like all we've got left! Thanks for the tip, much appreciated! Cheers Bruce
  15. Cosmo the cat, still missing, here are some photos to jog someone's memory Cheers Bruce
  16. Hi and a Happy New Year to all, I just wanted to say we've still seen nothing of COSMO, the black cat, it's been over a week and we're really worried. We've checked the local vets, put up posters, checked his microchip...so if anyone has taken in a cat for xmas, can they please take it to the vets and check that it does/doesn't have an owner by looking at the chip?... If anyone does see a big, friendly, talkative, green-eyed black cat, please give us a call on 07809640218. Thank you Bruce & Bron x
  17. Hi Nadia, I checked the poor thing out, I'm pretty sure it wasn't him, he's bigger and didn't have a nick in his left ear. We tried to get hold of the council without luck, will try again tomorrow. Many thanks Bruce & Bron
  18. HI, Our big, black, male cat called Cosmo/Coz(no collar but chipped to Celia Hammond, Lewisham)went missing on the afternoon of the 23rd, he likes a wander but this is way out of character as he loves his food. He's a very friendly, talkative cat, a real character and we miss him terribly. If you've seen anything that might help please let me know on 07809640218 and if you have a garden shed or glasshouse, please have a check. Thank you, Bruce + Bronwen
  19. Hi Zac We have a lovely black cat (male, neutered, no collar) who goes missing from time to time - we live on Grove Park and unfortunately he has gone missing again over Xmas (from 23rd December at 3pm). He loves his food so we are hoping someone has taken him in and is feeding him and he doesn't want to leave. If we can spread the news that would be great, we miss him very much. His name is Cosmo - he is chipped, we got him at Celia Hammond a year and a half ago, his old chipped name is Black Jack. Any help is much appreciated, thank you, Bruce and Bronwen
  20. Sorry to hear that, she looks sweet...I live on Grove Park, but often in Peckham Rye so I'll keep an eye out. We've got two so I know how horrible this must feel. Bruce
  21. I tried posting before but it didn't work, here it goes again...I live in Grove Park and got three bites on my elbow in the garden, which then blew up like a balloon, quite painful and itchy...then the cat got stung by a bee...so we're not too happy with any winged stingers - little feckers! Apparently they are rampant in May/June, then die away
  22. Near Bellenden...we did have a little group of Choumert residents get together after the riots, and met a few times but it seems to have died back...I might see if we can get together again and sort something out, I seem to remember one of the guys was a policeman.
  23. Thanks again for the comments and advice, most welcome! Still not sure about the insurance, but feeling less so after Camberlou's post, insurance company not paying out, whoda thunk it...I had a D lock on my bike but it wasn't secured to anything, and it was stolen in the morning, so I'm probably f*****. However I do think it behooves us just to be a little more alert to strange people behaving oddly in our respective 'hoods, and not to be afraid to call the police or even a neighbour if our suspicions are raised, particularly if they're hovering around a house. Unfortunately, while I agree with UncleGlen's sentiments, I just want to say that it is currently completely illegal to deliberately booby-trap your property! Be safe Bruce
  24. Hi, Thanks for the support, much appreciated. I reported it yesterday and the duty officer and detective sergeant were very helpful...they seemed to agree that I could have been watched, as they obviously seemed to know I had a bike, but they also pointed out that while the front door was frosted, our mail box has no hood, so an inquisitive little sh*t could just open it and look through to see what's in the hall. Anyway, lessons learned, like the idea of the anchor (thanks James)and time to get the landlord to put some serious locks on doors. Cheers Bruce
  25. Hi, Just to warn any bike owners, someone broke into our shared hallway over the weekend, while we were away and made off with my mountain bike (MARIN, black and metallic olive brown, Pioneer Trail, full size, knobbly tyres, very good nick), no idea if this was random or someone had been watching. Unfortunately, I had been a little complacent and not really questioned my landlord about the inadequate front door lock, so I'm afraid I was a little to blame, but still... ...gutted... Bruce
