"Modern European" seems to be the coverall for that kind of food.

I emailed for an appointment and got one - I think there is more of a training issue for the folks receving the emails rather than the inability to book this way...obvioulsy still not good but I wouldn't say that website or representative on here is giving false information.

I emailed for an appointment on Wednesday evening and I received a call from DMC on Thursday morning at around 10.30am confirming an appointment time for me so it does look as though the email address is being monitored and acted on. FYI I was seen on Friday afternoon although it was made clear to me that it was a one off and I couldn't usually expect to be seen so quickly. I also received a call later on the Friday evening from the GP I saw who had been ruminating on my issue and wanted to check a few things with me. I was actually very pleased with the service received, although it is noted in numerous posts above that the quality of care once seen isn't generally an issue.

Apologies and patient information from DMC
Cedges replied to DMC Healthcare's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've actually generally had excellent help from your surgery but I have tried to register for the online booking service before and when I tried to speak with your receptionists about this, they looked at me like with was talking Klingon and had 3 heads! Is is worth me bothering to try again? Also, how often is the email account checked, I have also tried to book appointments this was in the past but received no response whatsoever. I appreciate that you are trying to engage with patients via this forum. Many thanks. -

Report it to 101 -the non emergency police number - they've been quite effective the few times I've needed to call. It should be reported though, there may well be a camera and if not it'll still be noted in case there are further incidents. -

This will increase to 4 in 2016. I seeeeeee, thanks. It really would be helpful if Southern could have communicated this - and I do read every London Bridge update going. Grrr. So for half capacity we should be paying half fare right? Oh how i make myself laugh!

The thing that I don't understand is when the closed platforms 14/15/16 things went a bit haywire, not too bad but irritating. When they opened up 14/15 and closed 12/13 things were actually really good - the service was actually decent. Then on the august bank holiday when they reopened 12/13 and closed 10/11 things went hideous and reopening 10/11 and closing 8/9 has made things even worse. Ignoring whats happening on the other side (the through platforms) - I don't see how thats affecting the terminating platforms, I don't understand what this apparent 'capacity' problem is. If services operated well at full timetable bewteen easter and august bank holiday last year with 2 platforms out and one remaining closed, how is this an issue?

I've just emailed this: Ms Angela Okello, Please can you explain why rather then catching the 12 minute train from East Dulwich to London Bridge twice daily, I now get on the number 40 bus twice a day for a 40-45 minute bus journey to and from the same destination. I'm not going to re hash the issues, you know what they are - barely any timetabled trains - there used to be 6 an hour at peak times, cancelled trains, short trains when they do run, massive holding periods outside LB station, trains terminating early at SB. They are all described perfectly in detail here. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1469468,1469468,page=1#msg-1469468 and here http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1450284,page=1 I'll look forward to hearing your response. And don't you even dare mention delay repay - has to be 30 minutes late - on a 12 minute trip, anything more than 2 minutes late and you are causing massive inconvenience. Its insulting and useless. C Edges Feel free to copy, pasts (amend if you wish/need) and send.

(When they turned up four hours late. > Day two they didn?t bother turning up at all...) I believe this is called the 'convincer'*. As a result, you paid them more money that you had already, right? Worth a day's work to see what else they could get out of you. Hindsight's a wonderful thing however so don't beat yourself up about it as much as possible. *Disclaimer. Not the case for East Dulwish/Peckham Rye trains which terminate at London Bridge - just the through trains which normally use platforms 1-6.

Curmudgeon - I appreciate your point about not assuming what you'd choose but as far as I am concerned, its got absolutly nothing to do with the academic provision of a school - its about the social skills and environment. I think I'd rather my kid went to a slightly worse school academically providing it was co-ed. -

One of my juniors at work grew up in Zimbabwe - she moved here at 16 and is now 28. I am white British born and raised, also 28. You would imagine that being from similar class backgrounds, both pretty much raised on American music, tv and movies and she having been in the London area for the last 12 years, we'd be pretty culturally similar. Nope. Whilst I agree that a mix of cultures is a good thing, I think its wrong to suggest that just because a bunch of kids all live in SE London that they share a culture. Additionally, I consider myself luckly to have a great mix of male and female, gay and staright friends, many of which are from my schooldays and I think that has enriched my life no end. (The lack of cultural diversity is more a reflection of the fact my school was pretty white and in Oxfordshire.) I'd never send my (currently fictional) children to a single sex school anymore than I'd choose to send a kid to a faith (essentially single culture) or purposefully-ethinically-undiverse school. -

All sounds great Cymon, but it's going to take more than your word to tempt me and my friends back to part with our hard earned money to potentially find out you're wrong. What about a menu tasting evening fur locals to show off your new improved selves? -
Hi Lilyrose....can I suggest that you start a new thread introducing yourself and your shop and your dog of the week comp, you might find more folks see it than a thread headed up about the sweet shop...and I don't think there is any restriction on publishing an email address, just check out the rules for businesses thread the top this section. Good luck

I'd say chances are, you're reading too much into it and they are just being cautious in the same way you are...but, if you have a funny gut feeling, and I'd say you have...perhaps you could suggest meeting somewhere neutral - a caf? or pub maybe? Obviously if its an electrical appliance that needs testing, you might struggle with the plug socket thing, in which case, maybe just make sure there is someone with you at your house when they come round.
-
I only stop in at a cafe for breakfast once every few weeks as a little treat - no harm in that.

Some of us move house sometimes foxy and the dulwich cafe is no longer on the route to work for a bacon sandwich. La Scala is and I've not been overly impressed with Blackbird or the other greasy spoon. It is also possible for some of us too vary the establishments we frequent, its called variety and someone once told me it's the spice of life.

Grabbed a quick pain au chocolat this morning...?1.50, good size and delicious, staff seemed friendly...Will def check them out further in the near future...it was certainly a step up from the world's driest croissant i bought from blackbird the other week.

London Bridge station since August Bank holiday
Cedges replied to AD's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Trains were bad when platforms 14/15/16 closed then seemed to improve to a relativly decent service when 14/15 reporned and 12/13 shut but since 12/13 have reopened and 10/11 has shut, its been unberable. And an utter joke. I'd love to have a rant at a meet the managers session but as I always seem to get into LB exceedingly late, I don't have time to stop and talk/the session is ending - I'm pretty sure this is deliberate tbh. I've been getting the 40 most days too :-( -
Has anyone asked Iceland if they are looking at any other sites nearby or are we just assuming Iceland will be gone forever more?

HI Lillyrose, Good luck with your venture - as others have mentioned, an independent replacing an independent is no bad thing. I think the reason there is a bit of dissapointment in the community is that sweets generally appeal to a vast swathe of people. Dog stuff to a more select crowd - its especially difficult around here with the number of renters etc to own a dog so dog ownership, I would imagine, (I'm sure someone will correct me) round here is perhaps lower than other areas of the country, hense why there may be a little less interest in your business over that of a sweet shop. Most people can justify a couple of quid on a bag of sweets, not so many will justify more for a dog rolling pin! There are also quite a lot of places locally selling nice mugs/cards/teatowels etc. I'm sure you've done your market research and you'll do very well but please try to appreciate that for a vast majority of us, you may as well be opening an estate agents or hairdressers, for the appeal of your shop looks quite niche. Saying this, I will of course come and check it out when you open and hope that others will too. I hope what i am trying to get across makes sense! Good luck x
