That's interesting - I didn't know that was a thing - who do you insure through?
  2. I had a discounted membership for a year but only used it the first time as unless you pay the additional (hefty I thought) insurance premium, you are liable to pay a ?500 excess for any damage/accident even in the event that its a proven non fault claim. I felt that a ?500 risk for someone else's idiot driving was too much. Something to bear in mind maybe.

  4. From what I can establish there are no actual good surgeries in this area and if there is one, I suspect they are fully subscribed and not accepting new patients. Sad fact which arose when I researched local provision when I moved to the area.

Moaners have no idea about people's personal situations or reasons for eating on public transport - do you know that that person doesn't have to eat at a specific time for medical reasons? That they've not spent all day dealing with a sick loved one and the journey home is the first chance they've had to grab a bite to eat? No, you have no freaking idea what is going on with anyone so how dare people judge other people for getting on with their lives and satisfying a basic human need.

  7. Went to Cravings last night - lovely food - not crazily gourmet but super friendly service and good prices for what you're getting. The tacos were a highlight. We sat in as we were going to the quiz at the White Horse next door after and the ambience was a bit too brightly lit but its a takeaway affairs mostly so don't think you can really complain.
  8. Its less formal than a traditional formal dining concept but more formal than a shack serving take-out street food which is what Bao is traditionally. I'd say it's a pretty accurate description of Mr Bao. 9. These are very different burgers, they've amazing. I'm also not a massive fan of burgers.

    Car Jump

Garage worker nips off premises, helps out local jump starting car. There is a fault with the car. The local blames the garage and refuses to pay. The local tries to make a claim on the garage's insurance. The insurer refuses to pay based on it not having been an official job of the garage being off-site and without proper invoicing and payment. Local pursues garage for payment. Garage is forced to spend money defending a spirits claim. Garage uses up cash reserves and is forced to close. Extreme example yes of course but I would highly suspect that the help you were refused was on the basis of some kind of insurance limitation rather than through unwillingness to actually help. Just a thought.

Well that wouldn't be very community spirited of you would it? I don't currently cycle because of the lack of accessibility of my bike. If I had a space in a hanger nearby, I'd use my bike regularly. We're not all just looking to declutter.
  12. Always cancel your direct debit with your bank.
  13. I'd love one of these near me - my bike is languishing in my back garden as there is nowhere to store it on the front of our house and dragging it the whole way through the house every time I want to use it is a nightmare. My housemate who cycle commutes keeps hers in the dining room along with my other housemates racing bike - I frigging hate bikes indoors so I think these are an excellent idea. In fact I'm going to put in my request right now.
  14. There are lovely parts of Grimsby and Cleethorpes if you bother to use your intelligence and not believe every stereotype you hear and believe because you are too damn ignorant. There are majorly sh**ty parts of Southwark if you take your blinkers off.
  15. Assuming Whitby is similar to Grimsby (and I suspect it is being northeastern fishing ports), for ?9 up north, you get a large piece of haddock, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. This compares to the Sea Cow's ?9 which would get you the equivalent of a northern child's/senior citizen sized piece of fish and chips. All the other bits are extra. So yeh, they might both charge ?9 but what you are receiving is a world apart.
  16. Overpriced, small poncy portions and were too lazy to make their own chips. Good riddance I say.
  17. I will be spending this evening scraping of my boots bright orange poo trod on outside Franco Manca yesterday. I'm grossed out and also concerned what someone is feeding their dog to produce turds of that colour. Bleugh!
  18. Were the fraud transactions before or after 4pm? it sounds to me like it was before and your card was taken by the atm in case you were the fraudster. If this is the case, the atm is working perfectly fine, your back is pretty good at fraud detection and tesco are not at fault.
  19. Trains not being on time creates an uneven flow of passengers - all of the footfall analysis will have been carried out assuming that the trains all departed and arrived when they are supposed to. There is clearly a link here. Extra staffing re barriers - if there are 2 sets of barriers, there must be 2 members of staff - 1 set only requires 1 member of staff (to deal with issues).

  21. For interest their accounts can be downloaded for free here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/05651354/filing-history They're abbreviated as its a small company and don't really give away much. My only query would be what their circa ?10k of debtors at each year end related to. For a consumer retail business, debtors should be relatively low or non existent unless they are counting funds held by a credit card transaction provider. The alarm bell it sets off is if they were in fact bulk selling items to a 3rd party. Nothing wrong with that per se unless they were selling the donated items and not passing the proceeds to the charity. Without the fuller accounts you'd never be able to tell.
  22. Sorry to confirm - you mention Southeastern services, but what out our southern services?
  23. No no no! You've obviously not tried the croissants and pain au chocolat at La Scala. Far superior to any other!
