  1. We're here on holiday (staying with the in laws in north dulwich)... and have a very active 2-year-old daughter to entertain. Would love some suggestions as to what we could do this morning in the rain! Thanks, Rachel
  2. Thanks for the ideas! We went to the Tate + musical slide this morning, which was cool. Done Dulwich Park and Sunray Gardens, both really lovely. Where are the soft play centres? (i think we call these indoor play centres in Oz). Aiming to do Horniman next week when the schools go back...
  3. We are here on holidays... we have a 2.5 year old and 4 month old girls. Would love suggestions of things to do with them, places to go, wet weather ideas etc. Thanks so much!
  4. Thanks so much for all the suggestions, really appreciate it. I think we might opt for the Crown & Greyhound in Dulwich Village, as it's a 5 min walk from where we're staying. Makes it nice and easy for us! The Herne does look brilliantly set up for kids. We might have to check that out while we're there too...
  5. Hi Londoners, After a 2.5 year hiatus, my english hubby and our two little daughters are coming back to London to see all our english relies and friends (we live in Sydney). I want to arrange an afternoon at a pub where all our friends (and their kids) can come along... so would be VERY grateful for any suggestions of good pubs around East Dulwich that are kid-friendly. It will be in April, probably on a Saturday or Sunday arvo. People will be coming from all over, so ideally somewhere that has good transport links. Thanks in advance! Rachel
  6. Gloat you may, but it is actually mid-winter here! "Bushpigs" is a great word. We also love the word "feral" too. That's a personal fav.
  7. Thanks! Glad you liked it.
  8. Ha, should have known i'd open myself up to a host of aussie jokes! Yeah, i might introduce a new section in honour of the lounge... but maybe call it "the billabong", as we all like sitting round billabongs in our budgie smuglers with a stubbie, and having a yarn about bush tucker. Michael - we do have 'curry houses', though they are called 'indian restaurants' here... and my english hubby tells me the food is no where near as good as good olde english curry houses.
  9. I lived in East Dulwich a couple of years ago, and was a massive follower of The East Dulwich Forum... when i moved back to Sydney, i was pretty surprised that nothing similar existed for sydney's northern beaches. So, a baby and a bump later, I have now decided to launch one for myself (they say imitation is the highest form of flattery!). It is definitely not a carbon copy of ED Forum, just "inspired by"... Anyway, it's only been going less than 2 weeks now so is very early days, but i just thought i'd let you know about it in case there are any northern beaches people in East Dulwich who might be interested in seeing what's going on back home! So check it out, and let me know your thoughts (don't worry, you can be critical!) http://mainlymanly.com.au
