  1. Not wanting to preach KFH but would also add their follow up after we accepted the offer was exceptional, we had a difficult chain with quite a few delays and was basically on the phone to them a few times a day at one point, with them calling all solicitors and agents in the chain on a regular basis. In a jittery market that we are in the under offer is just the beginning and whoever you go for make sure that their follow up is equally as good.
  2. Can't say that happened to me and we sold our house with them recently. But it was with the Peckham branch so maybe differs from office to office? fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KFH - seriously overvalue properties in order to > get it on their books. 2 weeks before the end of > the exclusive agent period, they lower the price. > I really hate that tactic. Have sold two houses with KFH and reckon in this market they are the right people for the job as in my opinion they are pretty proactive Wouldnt recommend Winkworth - lost 6 months of time with them, messed up viewings, showing people who weren?t right people for house etc...
  4. I am sure they throttle back existing passive customers to maximise how many people they can sign up and also give new customers or unhappy customers better speeds...Over the phone they are able to increase your connection performance when you complain within a few minutes
  5. Fantastic news! I'm not going back to Virgin Media for other reasons but yep strongly recommend everyone either vote with their feet or at the very least try and get some money off them as their prices are totally crazy for the service we are getting here Mrs Y Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thank you Calsug, got a new deal, ?40.00 cheaper > and Wifi speed upgraded to 350 (what ever that > means)
  6. Cancelled my Virgin media contract today and was the best thing I have ever done, after months of "super high speed" broadband finally had enough Then got the call from the loyalty team trying to bring my back with a 50 pound credit to my bill, all new kit and a fixed price with 30 pounds off per month for 18 months - after having my bills increased quite a few times over the last few years I said maybe they should have been proactive and offered money off before I left especially as they know there is a general problem in the area instead of the only giving refunds if your internet is down for 24 hours solid nonsense. If you really want to get money off though and think Virgin is still OK, cancel you contract and wait for the call
  7. To be honest its not a sign that would solve it but the parents telling their children not to climb up them! 8. My wife has eczema and she was told to avoid cows dairy, wheat and sugar where possible We have switched to goats milk and minimise the amount of wheat and sugar we eat and it has definitely made a difference Other than that you need to make sure the soaps and shampoo you are using are not irritating your skin so need to use something like Aveeno oat wash and moisturise with Cetraban after showering / having a bath That said if you are having a bad flare up then steroids are often seen as a way to try and "reset" things
  9. Definitely the prices have come off from last year, but houses are selling if they are priced to take this into account.
  10. Tower Bridge as well... thats a stone facade. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Much of the 'Portland Stone' you will see in > Belgravia is a veneer. 11. There was a guy on Underhill road who had a similar parrot to that - always used to see him outside his front door with it

We put in raised beds with new compost to save digging the soil out - worked very well
  13. Echoing above, sorry to hear you go James, you have set a high bar and a tough act to follow. Remember a number of occasions you have assisted me with issues and it was very much appreciated All the best Calsug
  14. We have silk duvets and pillows - would personally never go back to feather. My wife is asthmatic so it is also the best for her. The one main issue is it can't be washed as easily as feather or synthetic - so be careful!
  15. Apples - really!?!? I could say so much more but this thread is nuts Both parents and dog owners need to control and supervise - it is as simple as that.
  16. Are you seriously telling me you would be fine with people living outside your house? What happens to all their rubbish or sewage? flocker spotter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > does it matter?
  17. Plus depending on your mortgage they will increase the rate if you want to rent it. My bank wanted to add an extra 1% for the privilege so the numbers just didn?t stack up. As a result we?re selling KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If you rent your house out we careful because when > the interest rates rise you need extra money to > pay the mortgage.
  18. Go, but that said I?m bias as we are emigrating at the end of the year but the thought process was very similar to yours. Definitely for us London seems to have lost its shine and for me personally I grew up in the countryside so feel there are better places to live and have our kids grow up. Despite London giving you access to do pretty much everything you want, realistically how often do you do them? I would much rather now visit as a ?tourist? We don?t have any friends where we are going either but in terms of plane trip to see friends and family it won?t be a much longer travel time than trekking across London etc... same will be for you if you move to Brighton plus am sure you will make more of an effort to organise things

  20. That I agree with but I mean pulling out in front of me to make me stop so they can cross over. Most of the time will gladly slow and flash lights to let someone out if they are waiting but pulling out to make me stop is pretty annoying Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Calsug Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > --- > > > > > > > As for cars pulling out in front of you, > > definitely a London thing and totally > > selfish/dangerous or even what I call the > > aggressive nudging out into the road at > junctions > > - if they pull out in front of me to do this I > now > > make a point of driving round them if they are > > blocking my side of the road ( when I safely > can) > > > Whilst I agree this may often be > selfish/aggressive (probably the same drivers who > tailgate others to intimidate them in a 20mph > zone), it is sometimes very difficult to see from > a side road when the main road is clear to pull > out, because of parked cars in either the side or > main road. > > Also, particularly if there is a lot of traffic, > sometimes the only thing to do is to nudge out > gradually so that you can see and make use of a > brief break in the traffic. > > Many of the side roads round here are just not > suited for the amount of parking and traffic they > get, and people parking on double yellows with no > fear of a fine just makes things worse for > everybody else.
  21. Walking across zebra or pelican crossings round here I?m never totally confident cars will stop for me Top worst is the goose green roundabout crossings as most drivers are too busy concentrating on merging onto the roundabout or the Barry road / Peckham Rye crossing where drivers are going too fast. Many times I?ve had drivers cruise straight through and give me a nonchalant wave!? As for cars pulling out in front of you, definitely a London thing and totally selfish/dangerous or even what I call the aggressive nudging out into the road at junctions - if they pull out in front of me to do this I now make a point of driving round them if they are blocking my side of the road ( when I safely can)
  22. Maybe taking the link down and removing the picture would be good. Don?t want whichever invidual doing this thinking this is getting the desired extra attention
  23. We?ve switched to the nitrate free bacon and it tastes great, it?s more expensive but less water seems to come off it when cooked would be good if William rose started selling it Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > M&S now sell bacon produced without nitrites. > > Nitrites are the cancer causing ingredient in > bacon.
  24. Pretty sure I?ve seen bags of non smokeless for sale in the co-op too As I said I?m not passing judgement and am wondering what people think I guessed it is up there as probably one of the more readily flouted and least enforced laws DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > B&Q sell Smokeless Coal BUT also sell coal that is > prohibited in smokeless zones.
