  1. I spotted an (obviously) escaped bright blue budgerigar on Cox's Walk this afternoon hanging about in the trees with the parakeets about half way up in the copse on the right hand side. It was quite big. Maybe if you have lost one it will recognise your voice and fly down to you.
  2. Indeed public charging points can be more expensive than fuel. Polar Plus is cheaper than Source London (which I only use when I would be paying for parking anyway) you get a free first year but Ubitricity sockets in lamp posts is the way to go. Yes I am an obsessive plugger-in of my PHEV otherwise what is the point? I don't have a driveway but if I did I would go pure electric. I agree that discouraging car use is desirable (some families in my road have two cars) but the nature of my job needs me to drive late at night but if car sharing was more viable.........
  3. I have a hybrid, ?9 to ?10 to charge on the dedicated Source London Points plus membership -after the first year of ?4 per month- (these points are often blocked by electric car club cars plugged in but not charging Blue City is owned by tge same French company that owns the charging points) this give an electric only range of 28-34 miles, the Ubitricity points in the street lamps for the same amount of charge cost ?2.28 via an app with no membership = no brainer. Love driving without adding to the emmissions but we are a long way from it being an easy choice and if I could rely on an electric car club vehicle being readily available would have no hesitation in not owning a car. As for Townley Road, expect to regularly see a row of Red Blue City Electric cars more or less based there permanently, can't wait!
  4. Yes mine does that too, also his haul includes other cats' toys, foam tubing, sponges, loofahs and small soft toys. His wildlife hunting also legendry but thankfully as he's aged less living things. He seems to have moved on to higher value treasure hunting.
  5. This watch has mysteriously appeared in my living room, I can only assume my cat (who has form for this) has found it and brought it in. There is a distinctive engraving on the fastening and the rear of the watchface. Please contact me if you think it is yours or you know a Helena or a Vladan

  7. Actually Southwark is a smokeless zone and if this is regular occurrence the Council can prosecute, you have my sympathy my neighbours burn any old stuff in their fireplace and some winter nights are piling smoke into the atmosphere. Report it here http://www.southwark.gov.uk/air-quality/reporting-air-quality-infringements
  8. Check that you are not being billed by cubic foot when your meter is metric and therefore cubic metres - this can result in being overcharged by 2.83 times. Very common when you regularly switch suppliers and they are never in a hurry to refund you the difference - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theoneshow/2009/12/is-a-gas-meter-mixup-costing-y.shtml
