  1. I've heard the chanting! Very aggressive and odd- always in the dark!
  2. I saw the road closed off when coming out of dulwich leisure centre at 1pm, i also saw a helicopter on peckham rye which must have been an air ambulance. Absolutely terrible and to think It was in broad daylight, thoughts to the families and victim.
  3. I found this rat in my house! Seems to have set up camp - look at his face :)
  4. Rats, squirrels, foxes - in the suburbs, aren't they all classed as vermin or pests? Let them live in their sanctuary of Dulwich park, running free in the shrubbery, bathing by the boating lake and eating the fine breadcrumbs of dulwich housewives home-baked bread that was starting to turn... Good on them, even rats like the fine things in life - have you seen the film Ratatouille?
  5. *puts sledge back in shed* :(
  6. Great work first mate - its people like you who don't give up and see an animal as a 'life' and not a nuisance. hope the RSPCA rescue, clean her up, give her shelter, food and warmth and find her a loving home she deserves. :)
  7. Havent had a 3G service for about 3 weeks...very annoying
  8. The replace speed bumps are rubbish! Was walking up the hill the other day and saw cars driving over the bump, with no cause to slow down as the bumps are useless...! Ridiculous
  9. Thanks for the info - it seems to be sitting down which irritates the back pain, so standing and walking is fine. I will have a look through all the suggested. If anyone can recommend any local treatment centres or practitioners that would also be helpful.
  10. My boyfriend has had on going lower back pain for the last 3 years having damaged a disc. Doctors aren't interested and just prescribe pills, so looking to try some kind of private treatments. Can anyone recommended? We were thinking acupuncture? Thank you
  11. I was walking up from HOP station past the church on my right, and a bus must have come about 2 inches from me, as it came bombing down the hill. Because the road is so busy at rush hour, cars are squeezing through and all over the place trying to avoid speed bumps, buses and parked cars along the road. I know its the other side of Forest Hill Road, but its so dangerous and frightening! Surely there should be some railings along the path for pedestrians to feel safer?
  12. Amazing! I love the attitude of some people...they really don't give a monkeys!
  13. I also think there needs to be some traffic calming down the hill (forest hill road) from the top at the school down to wood vale. I frequently hear cars zooming down over the speed limit and also speeding up the hill. I live on Honor oak rise and find it difficult pulling out onto the road with the traffic especially when cars park along the road including the regular van which completely blocks the view down the road. I am a southwark resident but is it Lewisham councils turf?
  14. There is no where safe to cross at the top - even where there is the bus stop (for P4/P12 towards brixton/Surrey Quays) no crossing near a corner is asking for trouble. I see mothers and children taking chances, especially during the school run. It's frightening. Will emailing have an impact? Has a petition ever been put in place working alongside the school?
  15. I live next door to the school and it is such a dangerous road. Everyone morning the parents on the school run dropping off kids park along the road, cause actual mayhem, rowdy drivers, horns beeping and lots of chaos. I feel very sorry for the lolly pop lady. The junction is a nightmare too, especially at rush hour. Cars pile at the tops, buses just about squeeze through, both p4 and p12. The road is always busy, make me wonder why nothing has been done to sort it out. Such a tight bend too.
  16. I've seen staffy type dogs knawing away at a few trees in peckham rye park, owners are totally unfazed.
  17. The Rose on forest hill road would be good as they have a stage and space to dance! Also I know they posted on here recently asking for new ideas for 2012 and I would defo be interested in going! Even if just to wear a rockabilly dress :)
  18. With all the reports of muggings over the past few months it's great to read a story like this for once!
  19. My boyfriend and I walk that way often and I have always been wary of that opening path that cuts through up to the church. My advice is to walk on the other side of the road when walking down past st Augustines church grounds, I have seen a few women do so. Unfortunately the walk up forest hill road to honor oak park station has been a mugging hot spot for the past few months, so keep valuables hidden, especially mobiles.
  20. Hello, I am a Final Cut Pro editor who is looking for some freelance work. I have worked for various clients within the fashion, lifestyle and corporate industry and I have a great portfolio of work. If you know of any editing opportunities in and around London I would definitely be interested. If you PM me and I can send you a link to my showreel, thanks in advance!
  21. I live right near this spot and have been very wary, looking out for these boys-I haven't seen/heard anything. Hopefully they have been caught!
  22. Does anyone know if sainsburys is open tonight? I know they have been taking security seriously in the last few days and shutting up shop early.
  23. Shops shutting up on Forest Hill Road, chippy is doing well. Not sure if co-op is still open...very strange atmosphere.
  24. Have seen a suspicious blonde boy and black boy, late teens hanging at the bus tops towards the top of forest hill road between the cemetery and honor oak park station. There are usually seen just together or in a group of four or five. The white boy has a distinctive puffy red face quite bloated looking and the black guy is slim with short shaven afro hair. We have seen them on a number of occasions always waiting and looking suspicious. I am not saying it is definitely these boys but its better to be aware than not. Also they have a habit of keeping their hoods up but not always.

    Legal Advice

I have recently had a bad experience regarding a landlord and I am seeking some legal advice. Areas which I am unhappy about are deception and fraud. Although I am no longer a tenant, I am still very unhappy about the way my partner and I were treated and this has lead to financial difficulties. If anyone knows what to do/is a solicitor and can help me, it would be very much appreciated.I am wary of legal costs etc which I am afraid of. I have been to citizens advice and it isn't a matter they can deal with.
